This is such a worthwhile investment. Any professional will really appreciate the quality if this Bosch laser leveller. Built well, extremely well manufactured, well thought out design and the best results. And any DIYer will appreciate all these things and its seemingly endless uses. Minor jobs like hanging pictures or wallpaper or hanging shelves. Over time you'll get so much use out of this. The unit itself is strikingly high quality and impressive. Sleek design. Well thought out placement of buttons. The build quality gives me a reassurance that it is manufactured with high standards of material and will last well. The laser beams themselves are intensely strong and vivid.Even in a room in full daylight with additional lighting on. Outdoor work during the time of testing (December) is perfectly acceptable in a fair range. I'll update this review in the summer in bright sunlight.I love that the main unit comes with a protective case. It offers adequate protection for the unit. But leaves the mount and laser targeting plate loose. I would have preferred to keep them all safe together.I love how with this you can use regular batteries and don't need a professional power pack. It makes it accessible for everyone. And also offers an easy solution if you use a power pack and that runs out.The rotating mount is manually operated. If you want to upgrade to the motorised one it costs nearly as much as this unit. But that can be operated by the Bluetooth app and that would be so handy. The self levelling feature is so clever. The laser blinks when not level. It works well and is highly accurate. The Bluetooth app is more suited to having the motorised mount. But it does enable you to swap between the laser modes and turn it off too. The app is well designed and easy to navigate. Connectivity to the unit was impressively quick and simple. You can attach this to a tripod. 1/4 thread. Bosch do one for about £26 or a more professional one currently £64.Overall a wonderful product.

Wow, my first pro-standard laser level, first self-levelling. Bluetooth is perhaps the stand-out feature, connecting as it does to a very useful app. There’s an excellent storage case in the box and, as you’d expect of Bosch, the whole thing has a quality feel. Keep in mind that you will probably need a sturdy, easy-to-adjust tripod, to get the best out of it. The RM 2 base is useful but I’ll be saving up for an RM 3.It probably makes sense to invest in some Li-ion cells. If they go flat in the middle of a job, you can replace them with alkalines while they recharge. The laser line is thicker than I was expecting but that isn’t a problem – I just work to one edge of the line. Some reviewers have noted that a green line, as on the CG version, can be easier to see than red, but the red line is very bright and I don’t have a problem with it. I suppose it might be different outdoors in bright sunlight.I’m still experimenting and learning, but this is certainly a powerful tool, coupled with the Levelling Remote App. There’s no point in going into great detail on functionality. The description on Amazon along with the Bosch website provide all the information you need, as well as advice and guidance. Amazon won’t let me insert a link to the website but I’ll try and add one as a comment. The manual is well-written – I’ll try and add a link to the pdf in case you want to read it in advance.I really enjoy using this and have been wandering around looking for jobs I can try it on. We’re embarking on our fourth self-build soon, when it will no doubt prove its worth.

As I've mentioned in some previous reviews, we are having some really extensive building work undertaken, a full ground floor refurb and extension with new floors, walls etc... needless to say it has been a nightmare.I got this laser level for review a few months ago, and in all honesty, it has saved us some serious issues allowing us to double check some of the work done... including walls, door frames etc. It has been slightly worrying how much of the work done wasn't straight!!!!Basically we used this to double check everything that involved straight walls, tiling, etc... the app allows us to easily adjust and it was so simple to use!The tripod thread meant I mounted it on a manfrotto tripod allowing us to move it round the house easily as needed. The motorised mount was overkill for us, but again being able to adjust it in the app was useful at times. Being powered by AA batteries, equally good, though we did get through quite a few.The red laser worked well indoors but in bright light outsdie could be hard to see at times. One thing I will say, is that it got absolutely soaked one day after a pipe burst above our tools... I said it was a nightmare. this survived with no issues! Unfortunately a few of our other tools did not.Probably overkill for amateurs like us, but this is a serious tool for professionals and I honestly believe it'll be invaluable to those that purchase one.

Really saves a lot of time - marking up is so much easier, even simple things like finding a level are quicker. It's easy to use, and the app is useful but not necessary. One or two things I will mention about the model I have:1) it doesn't have a hard case; the soft one that comes with it will not prevent misalignment or damage from impact, and I wouldn't want to be taking it into a site without one.2) the red laser is perfectly OK, but in no way does it comes near the green one, which is so much easier to work with in bright conditions. With daytime exterior work it can be difficult to use the red lines accurately.3) I have seen a video where the maker uses a cradle with adjustable height - the one I have just has a turntable at the base; it's a minor thing, but that function would have been handy at times.4) it uses AA batteries, which feels unnecessary when so many things can be charged via USB sockets nowadays.Overall, if you have to work under bright or direct light, go for the green laser. This is still an excellent device though, and I wouldn't be without it.Edit 24/01/20: I have modified a tripod so that I can adjust the height - this function is well worth having.

This is an excellent item, not only can it be used vertically and horizontally it can be rotated to any angle and fixed so it provides the required angle. This has proved extremely useful from a window blind fitter/curtains/track fitters point of view which is how this was tested as my brother-in-law is a professional fitter of such things. His suggestion is that it could have be improved with the addition of a universal fitting/adaptor to allow it to be attached to other items/stands to give an independant usage instead of having to hold, mark and put down whilst fixing track etc.A tripod can be purchased for the laser from the orginaal manufacturer but it is not necessaryily a trade stand plus tradespeople usually have a stand on which they can fix a variety of items(floodlights)etc. In general a super addition to the workbox, but would be even better with sforementioned addition.

This is a slim but sturdy unit that is easy to set up and has a pretty decent laser. It's obviously keenly priced and in my view more semi-pro than pro but it's a happy medium. Green is supposed to be up to four times more visible than red but red is certainly workable in all but the brightest lighting scenarios i.e. outdoors in sunlight. In particular, I found the bluetooth was a Godsend as it negated moving the unit and making trips to and fro. The batteries are a bit of a throwback but in practice they last a long time and are easy to source. The bag is not going to protect it well if you regularly transport though I imagine it could take a few knocks. These are slight niggles but I guess Bosch had to cut corners somewhere.Overall, for precision and being much better than a ruler and spirit level it's a sound investment for someone on a budget.

My husband loves DIY gadgets and this combi laser is just as good for DIY'ers as professionals. I did wonder initially what we would use it for, but it has many uses, such as wallpaper and picture hanging, rails or shelves. We have used it for a dado rail up the stairs that we probably would have used string and pins to measure!! The lasers are clear and even during the day or in a bright room, they can be seen. The device itself is a lot smaller than I imagined and therefore easier to move around and store. It does have an app which you can use with it, but to be honest I struggled to understand or use it (probably user error!!) It can be attached to a tripod for ease of use also. It's a very useful gadget to have, even if you think you would have no use for it there's always something it could help with!

This makes the laser level I have look like a toy, in particular the self level mode is superb, the acuracy is exccellent but I would prefer a 'finer' line. The projection is around 2mm thick at around 8-10 foot distance from the source to the target. It is a strong line however. Not as keen on the manual though, its supposed to have a fold out page to make it easier to see the components, but it doesn't, and it has 37 other languages taking around 10 pages each, a weighty and wasteful tome to be toting about! However it is comprehensive in its instructions. This is a very useful addition to my workshop which will be used over and over again. Highly reccomended.JC

Uses 4 AA batteries - that's 6V, not 12V as in the description, not that it matters, as the laser (red for this version) is plenty bright enough. It can't be used without the rotating mount - but the mount does not fit into the supplied bag. As the two need to be used together, this shows a lack of thinking through by Bosch. It's a lot of money for a red line, but certainly makes jobs easier. I'm using it for stage design, so we can easily make sure things line up perfectly, way beyond the length of a spirit level, and much easier than bits of string and a spirit level.

The main thing is read the instructions;). I reported a fault as it was flashing when I read the instructions that happens as a matter of course when in lock position ( so you know it may not be level ) so you can tiltReally happy as always with Bosch. The build quality is as expected. Not used yet as got for a job booked so will be interested to see how I get on with it as so use to level ;)If your looking for this type of product then you cannot fault vouch
