I came across these types of glasses in the Netherlands a few years ago in a restaurant and I was so impressed that I got a single one of these Bodum glasses to try out. Well, it lasted two years before it broke and by that time I'd gotten used to my tea not going cold... so this time I bought six!The size might be hard to tell from an image on the internet. They hold a large mug's worth of tea/coffee/drinkofyourchoice and do a good job of slowing down hot drinks going cold or cold drinks going lukewarm. I often forget time passing behind the keyboard and seriously appreciate the practicality of these glasses! Big quality of life improvement over a regular mug.The only bad thing I'd say is that as scum builds up you're going to see it,unlike a normal ceramic mug. For tea I'm finding I use a wad of steel wool and hardly any pressure (careful not to scratch!) to clean the inside and it only takes a few seconds that way. I mean really, it cleans up in seconds. I wish the glasses could be personalised a bit more too to tell them apart.I've read problems putting these in dishwashers, so honestly I'd say just do them by hand as you don't want fluid getting through the seal on the base. Save yourself any problems by not soaking them either, just do them by hand with steel wool or some sort of pad, like I said it's so easy and fast. If you look after these glasses they should last you a while, but remember that they are glass and they're probably going to break at some point with everyday use.Overall, the everyday practicality outweighs the fragility by a long shot. I'd definitely recommend them. Maybe stick to mugs on occasions you fear breaking one. I also wish for personalisation options, which may come if the manufacturers have any sense. ;)

These glasses are wonderful for someone who likes to keep cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot. They are equally at ease keeping coffee hot and beer cold. Preheating the mugs with a bit of boiling water for ~30sec helps keep the heat in.I have purchased 8 of these in total and broken one so far. The glass is high quality but thin, and will break from a sharp, percussive hit on certain weak spots, e.g. rim at the top. The upshot is that, unlike cheaper glassware, it did not explode into a million pieces - so cleanup and aftermath were not hazardous. If you take reasonably good care of them, they will last. They claim to be "uncrowded dishwasher safe" but seeing as how most glassware picks up abrasions in the dishwasher over time,I opt to hand wash them. Glass spoons can also scratch the glass so I use a baby spoon for stirring.Lastly, it's worth mentioning that the feel of the glass lip is quite nice for purists out there. The glass has no taste or substantial texture, leaving your drink's taste unaltered. It doesn't bother me, but some people might not like the fact that the glasses are not identical; there are small variations from glass to glass, even visible height differences, presumably because these are "mouth blown" (a claim I find dubious as the per-glass price does not seem sufficient for an individually hand crafted piece). In summary, this is my new go-to cup for virtually every beverage.

I've owned a set of these for a month and these are my thoughts.1. Looks - very attractive when filled with coffee. It doesn't matter whether it's black or a latte, they look good. I use these with my coffee maker at home and it just about fits a latte in without spilling over, they look good.2. Size - just a bit smaller than a standard mug from a volume point of view...it's not a massive difference, but I did need to reprogram the latte setting on my machine to put just a little but less milk in otherwise it overflowed. If you can't reprogram your machine then you need to consider this.3. Fell - they are very tactile. I do like holding a glass and they very comfortable to hold.4.Resilience - I use them most days and they go in the dishwasher afterwards, so far I've had no issues - I'll update if any of them crack or if the vacuum seal breaks.5. Heat - they keep my coffee warm until I've finished it!Overall - they look good, they feel good and they haven't broken after a month of uncareful use.

These are great. I use them all the time, and 350ml is a good genreal size for tea/coffee and cold drinks. I also bought some smaller 250ml ones but I think these are a better size.If you have wooden tables or delicate surfaces like me these are perfect. No coaster needed, unless you have a tendancy to spill your drinks.Just don't try removing the plastic valve from the bottom like I tried to do at first. It's meant to let the let the air in and out. These are not in a vacuum, when you put hot liquid in, the air in the gap expands and some is forced out. With a cold drink the air shrinks and more air sucked in. It's just molecules doing their thing.

I love these glasses! They are quite light and suitable for both hot and cold beverages. A real plus is that the glasses are insulated to stop your drinks 'sweating'. Other reviews suggested that they are not suitable for the dishwasher but I have been using mine in the dishwasher for months and have had no problems. The only downside is the are very fragile and I have broken two. Having said that, all glasses are fragile but given the cost of these, the pain of them breaking is greater. If you are careful, I would highly recommend them-they have generated a lot of compliments from friends.

I absolutely love these glasses! It's really scary when you put boiling water in it, even after a few weeks of using them, but it's amazing how it works, and I love the look and feel of them.I barely even feel any heat at all on the outside of the glass with a freshly poured cup of coffee in it.I'm definitely sold and will be getting other sizes and shapes too. Bodum also had the best reviews for these double walled glasses, but there are a few other brands with identically designs. Just make sure you pay attention when picking so you don't get a rubbish copy version

These glasses are an extremely elegant and also practical way to serve and drink a hot beverage. I bought them to serve green tea using the compressed leaves (Buddha's tears) which then unfurl in the glass in a very pretty manner, after seeing tea served like this in a trendy Raw Food restaurant. You could equally well use other hot drinks. They certainly keep the liquid far hotter for longer than a conventional mug. They clean up beautifully in the dishwasher and so far appear to be much more robust than they look. I'm delighted with my purchase !

Amazing looking glasses.Although they feel very fragile, so not sure about how tough they'd be for everyday use.First thought they were plastic because they are so light. Was surprised that the insulation works well. Keeps drinks cold/warm longer than normal. Plus not hot/cold to the touch.Definitely can't see these being worth the RRP.Love using them, and that floating look in very cool.Just not sure I'd give them to clumsy or heavy handed guests (lol). Not disappointed, would've been 5* if cheaper or sturdier build (even if heavier).

I love these glasses, so does everyone who used them at my house. Yes they are fragile, yes you have to be careful with them, but they are hand blown glass so what else could one expect? They feel lovely in your hand, just hot enough with a cuppa but not too hot. I do confess to initially having missed a handle to hold, but you get used to that fairly quickly. It's essential to me that they are dishwasher safe, therefore practical as well as beautiful.I hope this was helpful, please let me know if it was by voting with the buttons below.

Perfect for hot or cold coffee or even other drinks. Very nice to hold and the drink keeps its temperature longer than in a usual cup or glass. It has a tiny transparent (silicon?) valve for releasing air pressure at the bottom - I guess that design improvement helps the durability of the glass. But it still, of course, feels fragile and one is to be expected to be careful with these glasses when washing etc. (somewhat paradoxically - it is safest to use the dish-washer rather than hand-wash, but place it carefully and it will last long).

I bought these glasses for my kitchen as I thought they looked stunning when I first saw them at work , so I decided to buy them for myself. These glasses are perfect for both cold and hot drinks and keep the temperature well. When using them for hot beverages, it doesn’t burn your hand and keeps the heat in longer. For colder drinks, it stays cooler for longer due to double walls, perfect for hot summer when you want your drinks to stay cooler for longer.Pleased with my purchase

I was a little concerned that these were going to be too big as 350ml is bigger capacity than a can of fizzy pop. They are perfect size. They look lovely, they keep the hot drinks hot and only gently warm the outside. They GO IN THE DISHWASHER and come out fine.I have had my eye on these for years and I am so pleased I made the investment. For hot drinks, they will enhance any table. My mother and mother-in-law both ordered these immediately.Go for it - you won't regret it!!

I can only recommend these Pavina glasses. They are diswasher safe. I was a little concerned because uf the small rubber vent in the bottom th prevent expansion of the glas, but now after one year of ownership and many many washes in the dishwasher I see no difference in this rubber vent.Keeping beverages hot or cold is no hazzle with these. I mostly use them for coffee, but my doughter now also prefers these for her juise and the like.Very happy with purchase.

Glasses are elegant, modern and versatile for both cold (ice water and juices) and hot drinks (teas and coffees). Guests consistently comment on their design. Great purchase and would buy again.I have only owned these for a few weeks so I cannot speak to the durability of these glasses. But be aware before buying, these are not dishwasher compatible given the vacuum sealer at the bottom of the glass. I don't mind given these are a breeze to hand wash.

23.11.2014

Good value when you realise that these do the job of both tea & coffee cups and glasses for beer and spirits; no need for coasters either as the Pavina's insulating properties mean no heat-rings and no condensation. Nice to handle and drink from: lighter than they look but at the same time robust. According to Bodum: 'Dishwasher Safe' and I've had no issues so far, if I do I will ask Bodum to replace them. Highly recommend.
