I've had glass mugs before, and must say that I do like them, but I tend to get through them rather fast - within two months the pair I got for Christmas were broken! Oddly enough, although these mugs feel very delicate, they actually appear to be quite sturdy, and so far, so good, I haven't broken any of the four I bought. I haven't tried them with cold drinks, being a coffee lover myself, but they certainly do a good job of keeping a hot drink hot for longer. I can get absorbed at something on my computer and when I reach out for my coffee later it's still as hot as ever. Be warned, though, there's no pleasing some people and my partner complains that his coffee takes too long to cool down

These glasses work a treat! They look fab and really do keep drinks hot for a very long time. In fact they work a little too well. I haven't given them five stars because I quite often will make a cup of tea or coffee then I'll have to leave it ages until it's cool enough to drink. And in that time I'll often forget that I've made a brew and go off and do something else; only to realise a couple of hours later that my cuppa is still sat on the coffee table waiting to be drunk (which by then it's cold! These are good, but they're not that good!!!).But I have been interupted before and have come back 20 mins later to find my drink just as warm as it was when I left.They're more novelty glasses really.

I bought a pair of these a few years ago but they never got much use as I preferred the basic Bodum glass or porcelain mugs for teas or instant coffee. But I just picked up a Nespresso U with Aeroccino and after watching a clip on you-tube thought I'd try a latte macchiato with soya milk (all I had in the house) and reached for these glasses. Win, win! The drink didn't last long enough to test the heat holding properties of the double wall, but the hot drink looked as good as it tasted in the cool-to-touch glass!Update: Six months after using the glasses regularly and both are now broken. Even the gentlest tumble on to a carpeted floor is enough to crack the glass.

Had some of these before and they've been great. There quite a small size.. more for the kind of drink you sip at -- eg. speciality teas or strong types of coffee. In a way the handle is superfluous because even with boiling water in you can hold the body and it only feels a bit warm.Ordered a pair for my 10 year old Nephew as even though he won't be drinking hot tea or coffee just yet they are a great size for someone of about 7 to 11 years old for normal drinks of milk etc, -- the bonus being for him over normal drinking glasses is that they're interesting and scientific looking.

I bought a set of these in 2009 and I still love using them, they are a beautifully designed and crafted cup. I have used them everyday for my morning coffee. They are very light in weight and hold the heat well. They are not MUG sized and are slightly smaller - perfect for a long espresso.The only downside is they are quite fragile, one broke recently, my partner dropped it in the kitchen. They are made from double walled glass, after all. If you drop them on a stone surface they will likely crack and at worst smash, so you need to be careful to not throw them about.

Coffee or tea looks great and tastes great in these. I've had many compliments.. BUTTHEY ARE SO FRAGILE!Mine was on my desk at work, I pulled my keyboard towards me, the cable knocked the empty glass which toppled over and gently smashed. They don't bounce....!its even more fragile than a regular glass because they are such fine thin glass......So in summary.... really nice glasses for herbal teas or coffees but if it falls over it WILL break...... easily. Needs love and care to survive....Now i have to buy another one......

They still haven't fully fixed the issue whereby water gets between the walls - despite all the words about the silicone valve etc etc. But it does work far better than the 'glass plug' of the predecessors and we've only had one fail out of the half dozen - and that was replaced swiftly. On the upside they're good to look at / keep your drink hot for longer / don't burn your hands or any surface you put them on. So much better than single wall glasses.

I absolutely love these glasses. Having two young children means that when I put down a mug it is usually a while before I remember to pick it up again. with these glasses the coffee does stay very warm. Warning though, if you want to get rid of visitors quickly, do not make them a cup of tea in these! Also they tend to break at first fall (unlike those tough ceramic mugs) and I have been through quite a lot but wouldn't ever change to any others.

Friend of mine also has a pair of similar Bodum glasses and complains that they are very fragile, but I have no idea what she does to them to break them. Don't get me wrong, if you smash these glasses against a sink, they will fall in pieces, but that's just like any other kitchenware!Overall very pleased with they way how these look. I have specifically purchased them for a coffee machine and coffee looks marvellous in those.

Every time I look at these mugs I wonder how exactly it is Bodum make them. The two layer, hollow glass construction is both beautiful to look and functional and keeps my coffee warm. My only complaint is that they are definitely more delicate than glasses using single wall construction, something I sadly learnt after a dish washed unloading accident. I'm sure if treated with better care, the glasses will last for years.

My experience epitomised why I prefer to buy what is fulfilled by amazon.I Bought this around 6 months back, one of the mugs came out of the dishwasher with the space between the 2 glass layers (this is a double-walled 'flask' mug) filled with liquid.I got in touch with Amazon Customer Service and very promptly, a refund was arranged on return.So pleased with the service, I'm going to buy another set.

These mugs are really lovely to use, and the look great. They feel nice to hold, and to drink from.BUTThey are extremely fragile.Our previous, porcelain, mugs lasted for 15 years... I've broken two of these in a week - the slightest knock and they break.. Today's mug was accidentally accidentally tapped against a pint glass when putting it down.. pint glass was unharmed, mug was in pieces!

For many years, I have made myself coffee, drank it slowly, and then endured my wife's complaints when I threw out the last inch or so because it had got cold. No more - these keep it reasonably warm for an hour or so. However, do remember they are glass - my wife dropped one on our tiled worktop and smashed it before I had even used it! They dishwash and microwave well.

Had these previously for a good few years but unfortunately due to a couple of little accidents they broke... didn't hesitate to order more as they are a great size and most importantly the handle is on the top half of the glass as oppose lower down like most brands.. therefore making it much easier to drink out of.. good quality at a good price..

Although a touch expensive, they are really a good solution to a basic problem. NO heat transfer what so ever so you dont need to worry about burning yourself no matter how hot the content is!We managed to break one and I think all of us were really upset :) More worried about the cost! But I guess you want quality you need to pay for it!
