I have been using BIC products of this variety for over 50 years, with the only major change being the composition of the metals in the ballpoint. This set of pens then is very familiar to me and I am fortunate to have a use for the varied colours of which I received 8 blue and four each of red, black and green. There is little more to say about the pens, they work exactly as BIC biros have always done with the exception that after prolonged use now, they no longer leave a blob of gloopy ink on paper when it has seen use - I think that is down to the tungsten carbide composition of the ball. The case is really nifty and is ideal as a storage pot.I tend not to use green ink much and therefore I will probably use these in the house for note taking rather than for work. This partly which I have only awarded this item 4 stars. Whilst 20 pens costing almost £0.70p might represent good value for some customers, considering that the majority of us probably only routinely use black/blue ink and lesser so red ink; rarely green, does that represent good value for money, similarly BIC sell a box of 50 black pens which cost less than £0.16p each; you do the maths. If you need 4 colours and a case, they represent good value, if like me, you tend to use mainly black ink, occasionally red and rarely green, you might be better off selecting an alternative product from the same manufacturer and supplier

I am reviewing the BIC Cristal Original Ballpoint Pens Assorted Colours 20 Pot. Here are my thoughts:^^ This is pack of 20 original Bic Cristal medium ball point pens, which write smoothly and are quick drying.^^ I didn't know this, until I researched these Bic pens, but they apparently have a tungsten carbide ball, which makes a perfect sphere and it's this which helps easy, non-scratchy writing. I often wondered why Bic biros work so well. They've long been a favourite of my whole family.^^ What I really like in addition to twenty of these pens, which I'm a fan of anyway, is how this set comes in a container, which looks like a 'Mega Cristal' and the pens can be stored with the giant lid on,or the giant lid can also be an open container.Overall:Very happy with this whole set, and I particularly like the giant container to hold them all in. Yes, it's a bit of a novelty, but that's part of it's appeal. Great pens, which work well, too!

This is a good value product which works out at less than a pound per pen, which, given that you get a lot of writing out of them, seems good value to me. Personally I wouldn't bother with the actual pot; it may look quirky being styled as a giant pen, but it is actually quite clunky, takes up a lot of space and the lid falls off easily if the pot tips over. However, I can see that if you were to give these pens as a present, it would add to the overall effect. The pens themselves write well and smoothly, with no degradation in ink flow as you write. The pot is supplied with a range of colours, with more in the blue and black (i.e. the more useful colours). All write well - the colours are bright and clear and,as I said above, the flow of ink is smooth on most papers. All in all, good value for a basic and very useful pen.

It almost goes without saying that these 'biros' are of the best quality. I first used BIC more than fifty years ago so I think you can say that I am a convert. This particular pack offers all that quality - pens that write first time (none of that 'find a scrap piece of paper and scribble for ages') every time PLUS there are no sudden spots of ink PLUS they are comfortable to hold. The quality is further enhanced by the great novelty case that these pens (in four colours) are stored in - it is designed as a biro itself and the lid is a large pen lid - I love the pot and I know my grandson will too when he sees it (he ALWAYS examines everything on my desk especially anyhting new and these nowhave pride of place.Well done BIC - a great gift pack!

very cute gift pack of standard BIC crystal pens that most kids have to use in exams and at school. O got the purple pot with the blue lid - I would have preferred a clear pot or the blue plastic to match the lid but I don't think you can choose the colour you receive. The pot has 20 pens inside: 8 blue, 5 black, 4 red and 3 green. I would have preferred more black pens and fewer blue as the children have to use black at school and so they are the most useful but it is still a good selection. The pot is useful beyond the life of the pens as a general desk tidy/pen pot. The lid screws on so the pens won't fall out everywhere if you accidentally over turn it.The pot would make a good revision gift or school gift.

This is a really fun pot of BIC Pens, which includes 20 pens. I received the pink pot, with a blue lid. It had eight blue pens, five black pens, three green pens and four red pens. My son has to use green and red pens at school, for marking and correcting work, so all of the colours were useful for us. Plus, my daughter liked the pot as a desk tidy. However, the lid screws on and so you could use this as a pencil case if you wanted.I think this makes a lovely little gift, or stocking filler. It is functional - the lid closing properly is very useful - so not just a novelty item. The pens are always good quality and so this is something that is useful and also a lot of fun.

I don't normally give all five stars with my ratings unless the items are really truly good, but I think this funny gift pack deserves all five of them. My one is a green 'bottle' with 20x usual BIC ballpoint pens; 8x blue, 5x black, 4x red and 3x green. They know which colours will be the most useful ones. The lid of this pack has the shape of these pens, so it's funny, and I think the whole pack will make the face of the recipient smile, and they're not just useful, but fun to own too, so because of this extra element I'm more than happy to give all the five stars with my rating for this item. Obviously it works as a pen stand. I'm glad I got it.

This has been a really useful pen storage pot. The giant box can hold lots of pens and is tall so can fit in standard pencils too. It's a good desk all pupose solution and stands out. I love the look and design. It is good quality plastic and hasn't cracked or broken after many weeks use. It's got a screw on lid so if it's knocked over or handled by your toddler everything doesn't spill out. For some inexplicable reason I have lost the lid. I blame my back to school teens who have been pen rifling but I am going to buy another. With toddlers and cats I like the no spill option rather than chasing pens down the backs of the sofa.

This set of BIC biro pens is pretty much as you'd expect - it's a set of standard BIC ballpoint pens, with 8 blue, 5 black, 4 red and 3 green pens. They come in a plastic pot that looks like the top of a giant pen, and while it would look a bit odd in an office, they would be great for young children. Most people will have used this kind of BIC pen before, so you will probably know what expect, but just to reinforce that these are high quality biro pens, made from a durable plastic and with a long enough lifetime that you'll probably end up losing the pen before you run out of ink!

First of all, I don't think you can go wrong with BIC pens, as the quality is always good. They feel comfortable to hold, and are smooth to hold, with no leaking etc. This is not the cheapest way to buy them.. I have a box of 50 black ones which cost just under £8, but it is a good way to get a variety of colours, in a holder which will probably appeal to youngsters. I'm giving mine to my daughter to use for revision, as the different colours will come in very useful. For my own use, I find the pot a bit bulky and unnecessary, but I think many will like.

The main reason for buying the biros this way is that you get a nice container to keep them in - it works out a lot more expensive, although you do get a mixture of all four colours - I would prefer just black and blue really, but most will be grateful for a few green and reds too.The container that I received has a purple transparent bottom part, which makes it look less like a fat biro.Overall it will be worth the extra outlay if you like novelty items on your desk!

This is excellent value and will make a great gift or just buy for yourself for your office. The tub is shaped like a pen and is in blue perspex with a lid the same as the bic.The 20 pens are great quality. They write well. The ink flows and is easy to write with. They are also comfortable to hold. Also with all Bic pens, they last ans so are excellent value. This is a go to pack that I thoroughly recommend.

11.5.2017

As always these pens are top notch. They come in their own pencil case which is a nice touch. The pens themselves write smoothly and are of the usual high standard. The colours are rich and clear. Excellent value. If you've got tens or kids Imwould keep a pack of these In the house, as pnes can disappear quickly. I can highly recommend.

22.5.2017

Still the best disposable ballpoint. Worked straight out of the pack and delivers a smooth and consistent ink flow and just glides along the page. They are also a simple design so very reliable. Packaging is a bit over the top and not environmentally friendly but I cannot fault the pens.

3.12.2017

Clever novelty item with a pretty good strike rate for usable pens. Although there is a slight suspicion that it would work perfectly well if the pens came in a cardboard box - what use is the holder afterwards?
