Heavy, polished stainless steel. Should last a lifetime. Easy to use (suits all hob types including induction although the smaller single cup model is not suitable for induction hobs). Spares are widely available but this is a product that is incredibly simply designed with few parts. It may seem expensive but it will make great coffee, simply and without lots of cleaning or bits to go wrong. Its also designed with great style and manufactured in Italy.

Perfect espresso maker for two cups. You fill it with 4oz of water and you end up with about 3oz when it's finished brewing. Each cup gets 1.5 oz of espresso. I love this little thing.
