This cooler shocked me as to how good it actually is. I was in the market for a beefy air cooler simply because to me it is visually appealing, and this is by far the most appealing air cooler to the eye. The noise levels are outstanding. As my ambient temperatures are quite high and my case has terrible airflow I have the cooler set to 70% and it is still quieter than my case fans running at much less than that. It is so quite I was concerned it wasn't working. It really lives up to the name and I will be investing in some silent wing fans for my case fans. I have also managed to push another 100mhz to my already generous overclock, and the CPU is running cooler, both in idle and full synthetic load than the overclock I had before and I have headroom to push it furtherIn terms of ease of install it was relatively easy. I mounted it with the motherboard still in the case. I did have to remove my GPU to install the 135mm fan though. It's not the easiest cooler to install, but it isn't hard either. The screwdriver that came with the cooler made the job very easy and is a very useful addition to the cooler as I do have use for a long phillips head screwdriver. The mounting system is the only real fault I would give the cooler. The mount works perfectly fine, but I would have preferred some sort of system that aligned the cooler perfectly as I was worried about it moving around causing issues in my thermal application, a nub in the bracket running though the middle to align perfectly would have been great. Though, I did myself no favours mounting it in the case. All in all, amazing cooler. Would 100% recommend

I built a Ryzen 2600x build last year which came packaged with their Wraith Spire cooler. I've been struggling to get my PC to follow a fan curve that doesn't have constant ups/downs when the CPU goes over 70c. I ended up just setting the fans to 80% to avoid the constant fluctuation but with summer coming and playing more intensive games like Warzone I needed to get my temperature under control. Lots of sites out there will tell you that the stock coolers are fine - but they're not, really. Admittedly the stock thermal paste didn't look great when I removed the stock cooler to replace with this one - but again, that says more about the paste than anything. The Dark Rock was easy to install, complete with mounting brackets for AMD4 . I decided to use some Arctic paste instead of the included. I've gone from stress tests that max out the old cooler at 95c to not being able to push the CPU over 69c even under heavy gaming loads and stress tests. My idle temps have dropped back into the low 40's - and that is with it being ambient temp of 25c+ here today. This thing is also silent even running full RPM. I was worried that perhaps my build had a problem but changing the stock Wraith Spire for this has significantly improved my temperatures and it also increased my benchmark scores by 300 points. If you're spending money on building a new PC - don't just settle for the in box cooler. Do yourself a huge favour and spend £50 on one of these (or similar) and have temps that give you peace of mind. Don't spend the best part of 6 months wondering why your temps are too high like I did. HTH!

I'm currently running it with an i7 6700k at stock speeds. Ambient temp is around 16-17C and this keeps my CPU at around 20-24C average. My previous Corsair H60 cooler ran slightly warmer and became less efficient as it aged so it's definitely best to go with this cooler rather than a small liquid cooler. I imagine it's silent but can't say yet... My front three Corsair fans run too loud, so these will be going soon. The only other product I considered was the Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black but it costs 50% more and that much cooling performance is just unnecessary for my use.I've looked around and the results of this are on par with some 240/280mm liquid coolers so it can handle overclocking very well.If you want 360mm AIO performance, get the Pro version. The only reason I didn't, is because I have a small case (Fractal Define C TG) and it'd have been too difficult to install it without pulling out the motherboard. I installed this one with the mobo inside the case.Installation was easy. The only slightly harder part was installing the fans with the brackets. You have to push the corners of the brackets so they go in easily, one corner at a time. Same thing during removal. Still, this part only took an extra minute. The only other minor downside I noticed was that the black paint on the fins does come off if scraped. Anyway, the free screwdriver was a very welcome addition. I finally have a proper screwdriver for PCs!

Great cooler, very easy to install & very quiet. Highly recommended for £55.*When I say good enough to keep temps under control at 5Ghz (all core)@1.35vlts I mean in normal desktop use and in gaming but NOT when running something like a Prime95 torture test.On the dessktop, Idle temps will be 30-33c and maximum gaming temps will max out at 50c-60c. During hot spells this past summer, the most demanding games I have (Battlefield 5 & Shadow Of The Tomb Raider) which I was playing for hours, temps never went above 60c. In less demanding games (Witcher 3, Hellblade, Fallout 4) temps stay between 40- 50c.Where this air cooler falls down are in demanding stress tests at 5Ghz,where they will quickly shoot over 90c and towards thermal throttling territory. Even the best AIO coolers, costing over twice as much, struggle with temps in Prime95. The simple fact is unless you hit the silicon lottery and get a 9900K that can run 5Ghz at 1.3vlts (or less) this cooler is not sufficient. To me this isn't an issue as I don't sit there running stress tests all day long.If I drop clock speeds down just a little bit to 4.8Ghz all core, which only needs 1.33vlts, then everything is fine, temps stay between 80-90c in Prime95, which is perfectly fine and is as stressful a test there is for any CPU.

This cooler is BIG! Have a look at some photos, check the measurements.First up, it is beautifully packaged and very nicely put together, it feels super sturdy. Comes with a comprehensive mounting system and a really handy long screwdriver which has now become my default pc screwdriver. The bracket is a little fiddly and needs a plate fitting behind the cpu socket so best fitted while the motherboard is out of the case. Spring clips to hold the fan on also a little awkward, but very secure when in fitted. It is large, the fan would have clashed with the inner ram module on my board unless using a very low profile setup. Luckily I only have two Dimms and running in dual channel means I don't have to use the slot closest to the cooler.Height wise,it is large but not ott, I would imagine it will fit in any standard width tax style case, but be careful if yours is slimmer than the norm.In use the cooler is very quiet, even when running at decent load, and has no trouble keeping my 9900k at sensible temperatures. The only real complaint I have is that the included tube of thermal compound had a defective plunger and wouldn't expel the compound properly but I had some spare from another project.

At first I was not sure whether to expose it in the launge as a piece of art or use it in my new computer. :-) Saying "wonderful" is not enough. It's a superb object. This new model is easy to install compared to the previous version 3, however there is an important point to notice: the backplate bolts have to be set not only in the right hole but also in the correct orientation because they fit in the hole just like a bolt in a wrench. I didn't notice that at first and all seems OK but I wasn't able to tighten the spacer nuts in a perfect vertical alignment and consequently I wasn't able to screw it because such slight improper angle. So I had to remove everything again, remove the rubber rings and check the bolts are perfectly orientated. I think Bequiet should highlight that better.>About the fans: if your M/B have more than 1 CPU fan header, using 1 for each fan is better because the splitter has only 1 tachiometer line and as such one fan rules the other. Moving the 2nd fan on a dedicated connector let you have more fine control.Super super quiet. With an i5 8400 whatever I do the fans are basically useless: at 400RPM the metal is cold even when I 7zip a VM. FAN-TA-STIC!Read full review...

Very quiet and efficient once installed on an i9 processor. The mounting is laborious, as widely commented upon, but works well once mastered. As an item, I am glad I purchased this. Along with my Be Quiet case and power supply, my PC is literally inaudible. The main issue is if you need to deal with BeQuiet customer services. My initial package (factory sealed) was missing the 4 metal clips which hold the fans to the fins. I contacted Amazon, whose customer service levels are always worthy of 5 stars, and said I would rather not waste the resources to return the entire item just for 4 small pieces of metal. Amazon got in touch with Be Quiet directly and even called me with them on the line in order to resolve the issue.I was told by Be Quiet to submit the form on their website for the parts. 4 days after submitting the form, they got back to me and suggested I needed to pay £10 for these parts (the parts they neglected to include, without which the item is useless). I contacted Amazon and they had a new whole item with me in under 24 hours for free, which contained the clips. It is a premium product, but their idea of liability and customer services leaves a great deal to be desired!

i removed the outer fan for my i5 8600k, so only the inner 13.5cm fan is working, at 500rpm is actually not audible, but it can passively cool the i5 8600k when on the desktop, i have an msi gaming motherboard, in the bios or in the included software under windows u can set the fan curve, for me up to 75 degrees the fan would not even start , in DC fan control mode it is possible to do that, i dont do overclock, and on the desktop is even more meaningless than in gaming, so in fanless mode the i5 is 45-65 degress, with no housing fans, and with a seasonic fanless psu, and the vega64 would not start the fans till the gpu reaches 65 degress, with a nofan cs-80 case i effectively run my pc fanless on the desktop, and the fans would start only when im gaming, the cpu temp could be hugely improves by delidding the cpu and replacing the thermal paste with liquid metal, but im not gonna do that cause already happy with the temp, 45-65 on desktop fanless mode, 75-85 degrees during gaming with 500-1000 rpmwith the 9th gen cpu in theory the cpu temp is even better cause there is no need for delidding due to soldered cap on cpu

I use this to cool an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x and this cooler stays virtually silent even when I run benchmarking applications putting the processor under full synthetic loads. Temperature under load has hit a 68 degrees maximum for me which is fantastic. The first time I turned the PC on with this attached I didn’t think the PC was on, I thought I mis-pressed the power button so turned round and the PC is on and to my amazement no noise whatsoever. It’s a big cooler but fits perfectly in my Corsair 280x RGB case. The mounting instructions aren’t the best in the world but a bit of common sense will see you through. For AM4 sockets you have to remove the motherboard backplate, screw the new backplate included with the cooler on, mount the brackets to the cooler itself and the screw that to the motherboard. Took about 30 mins once I had figured it out. It even comes with included thermal paste. The look of it too is so much better than any other cooler out there in my opinion, and has similar results to most AIO coolers without the hassle of radiator mounting.A must buy.

I would recommend installing it to the motherboard outside of the case, especially if you have fans on top of your case, it can hard be hard to install the CPU fan.My CPU is the Ryzen 3600X and this is such a massive improvement over the stock cooler in terms of performance and silence. Then again, this CPU cooler can be considered an over kill when partnered with my CPU (especially if you don't plan to OC).Pros:- Super quiet, even under load or gaming (it lives up to its name!)- Sleek looking design- Those temps are looooooowwwCons:- Could potentially hinder future RAM upgrades (fan sits on top of the most left DIMM slot)- Painting of the cooler can be scratch easily,so steady on when installing the fan (obvs a victim here)Temperatures (no OC):36-37°C when idle40-45°C when using light applications i.e. Spotify, Firefox, etc...50-55°C when gaming65-70°C when CPU benchmarking^^Note: these temperatures are purely from my PC and therefore not representative of all Ryzen 3600X when coupled with the Dark Rock 4.

Currently using this to cool my Ryzen 3700x and I couldn't be happier, I knew this cooler had a good reputation but it has completely exceeded my expectations. From the price to performance its outclassed every AIO I've had and will hopefully require less maintenance (have had some bad times with coolant leakage...). But that effectiveness does come at the cost of space, this thing is HUGE to say the least, it's currently sitting in my coolermaster H500P case and has about a 2 inch gap from the glass panel.Another thing to be aware of before purchasing is the RAM clearance, you will need quite low profile modules to fit the Dark Rock and removing the RAM from the A1 slot will require the cooler itself to be taken off.I currently have some Patriot Viper steel RAM installed and I dont think I could even measure the distance between the spreader and the outer be quiet fan. With all that said I couldn't recommend the Dark Rock Pro 4 enough if you have the necessary space in your rig it really is a sight to behold.

Superb cooler. I upgraded to a i9 8core and was still using my 212X Fan... Not a good idea. Constantly hitting 100c and throttling.I did alot of research and this one kept coming up top. To be honest I was only concerned about one thing - cooling power. Not the noise or how easy to install.-Cooling: Fantastic. I dont overclock and the Core i9 is under 30c at idle. Often 24c. Which is great.-Noise. Cant hear it unless under load. But This UNDER LOAD, sounds like my old fan at idle.. so you get the idea.-Install. Piece of cake. I even did it in the case - I had both sides of case open and got the backing plate on in around 5 mins and the rest of the fan on in 10min.I'd recommend attaching the CPU fan cables to the Mobo before tightening because its hard to get them in after. The included screwdriver is a really nice touch and is very useful!!Great product, and so happy. I havent gone over 80c - rendering 4K files. Lightroom export / HDR merge. All fine.Great work

Whisper quiet! Even as I'm writing this I'm finding it difficult to discern the sound between the external hard drive connected to my TV (which itself is very quiet) and the sound of my PC. I had initially decided to go with the Dark Rock Pro 4 but glad I went with this. For someone who wants to do light overclocking or no overclocking at all, this is ideal. It was one of the few components I was concerned about but installation was very straightforward. Of course it helps that there are plenty of videos online which as a first time builder, were very helpful. As other reviewers have mentioned the included screwdriver can be found at the back of the foam.I foolishly presumed that they forgot to include it and although it would have made installation a little easier, I used a long, non magnetic Phillips Head and had no problems. All in all, I give this my highest recommendation. You won't be disappointed!

The design and quality of this product is great. It is well packaged and the paper instructions included are clear. Thermal paste is included and also a decent quality magnetic philips head screwdriver of the correct length for the installation. Everything you need is in the box. There are a couple of things to be aware of before buying:- Check the height of the cooler and whether it will fit in your case. My case is an NZXT S340 elite and it just fits. I compared the specs of the case and the cooler before buying.- You will lose the use of the first DIMM slot (especially if you can't raise the fan height about the top of the cooler due to case restrictions). This wasn't an issue for me as with DDR4 and 2 DIMMs I am using slots 2 and 4 anyway.- It is quite challenging to install the cooler with the MB already installed in the case, though it should be easy outside the case.

Edit- handle with caution aluminium heatsink may slice your skin like knife through butter *no joke!* fragile paint work do not tighten too much allow enough room for thermal compound to sandwich between heatsink and chip otherwise direct contact pushes the paste off the chip even small amounts also I wouldn't recommend using the thermal paste provided it does not live up to expectations use a professional branded paste for guaranteed results.I7 8700k 5.1Ghz -Took a while to install in my case barely fit, pc and room went from NASA Challenger hot to quiet slim line submarine I can't even hear my pc anymore what did you do my aio used to get temps similar but it was never quiet and this heat sink never goes over 60 degrees celcius!- also I'm certain this heatsink is even acting as a cooler for my gpu 1080ti went from 75-83 degrees to 50-60 nice product ???
