I've failed miserably where curls are concerned despite trying many methods, ending up with limp rats tails which drop out after half an hour. So this went straight onto my wishlist after reading the raving reviews.After using it several times I am impressed and pleased I bought it...though perhaps not as much as others. Firstly the pro's. This is so simple to use even someone who struggles with anything more complex than a pony tail can manage it. It heats up quickly...not quite as quick as my straightners but quick enough to be impressive. It has three heat setting which is a great asset and means you can choose between looser waves and more statement or adjust depending on your hair type.It looks great quality and comes with a three year gaurentee which is very reassuring. With just twenty minutes work I can have a change of style which looks great with the minimum of fuss and really lasts. Even after sleeping on my waves they're still there.Ok so now the cons: While I love the style this waver creates, it's not an everyday style and isn't so much curly or wavy as really big crimps. Personally I'd prefer something more subtle for everyday wear but as a fancy statement style for a night out I love it. If your expecting soft easy curls though you'll be disappointed. Secondly, the barrels get very hot and I find it easy to burn myself...especially my ears. this is down to the size of the styler and it could do with protection on both sides of the crimpers. Thirdly the on/off button is VERY sensitive and numerous times I've turned the thing off without noticing until the styler has gone cool.All in all I am happy with my Wave Envy, and the faults are minimal however they are there. While I wouldn't say this is something you'll use every day, and is in no way a replacement for straightners (or if you do I'm guessing the novelty may wear off quickly) it's great for a change and creating a funky, different night time look.

I have really think, long hair and I've used so many different products and curling tongs, straighteners, rollers and more to make my hair curly or wavy - you name it, I've tried it at least once! Most of the time the curls have looked great that day but by the next day the curls had completely dropped out.Firstly, it's really easy to use. Although it looks like a straightener, you don't drag it down over your hair but instead start by sectioning off your hair into manageable chunks. Then, take a small part of this section (I found about 2-3cm wide worked best). BabyLiss recommend starting from half-way down from your roots but I did nearer the roots and still got a gorgeous effect.Wherever you want to start, simply take that small section of your hair that's 2-3cm wide, lie it in the wave envy styler and then press the plates together (again, like you would with straighteners).Repeat this for each part of your section of hair - just moving down the hair after 6 or 7 seconds. I found it worked best starting where the last one ended, this way you can get a perfect wave going down your hair. Repeat this all around your hair - it can seem time-consuming but I was quite impressed that it only took me around 45 minutes to do all my hair, whereas using other hair stylers has normally taken a lot, lot longer!The best thing about this styler though is how not only does it make your hair look gorgeous, but it ACTUALLY works. The curls I've had have stayed in for three days (I wanted to see how long they'd last!) and although the full curl/wave isn't there, it's still obvious that my hair isn't straight or its normally messy self. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone that wants a lovely wavy effect to their hair that lasts - plus, I've received lots of compliments since using it, so that's a bonus! :)

I have to admit, the first time I tried this product, I hated it. I thought I'd have to try return it or sell it or something! I have fine, chin length, straight but flicky hair and I sectioned it out and carefully waved each section. When I was finished I looked like some kind of 80s reject and I laughed at myself! However, I decided to give it one more chance. I wasn't so careful this time, did big chunks of hair rather than small sections and just did it super quick. I focused on the top layers and the underneath layers I didn't hold them for so long so they weren't chunky waves, just very gentle ones. Stay away from the brush, chuck some kind of product in it and you're done.Its safe to say I love the Babyliss Wave Envy now, as it gives my hair natural curl and volume which really lasts! And usually my hair takes half a can of hair spray to stay in a curl. Definitely worth the £25 I paid, and definitely worth 5 stars. Give it a go!

I have naturally frizzy fluffy hair, and after using GHD straightners for years, I was getting desperately bored of my style. I found my heated rollers awkward to use so decided to look for alternative methods of curling hair. After reading all the reviews for this product I took the plunge and opened my usually tight purse!It took a few goes to get used to waving my hair, but now I really have got the hang of it, everyone loves my hair wavy. Above all I love it!The waves stay in all day and all night, next morning i just quickly go over it and again my hair looks great.After I've used the waver, I don't run fingers through hair or touch it with a brush. Instead I SCRUNCH a small amount of anti-frizz serum in my hair,and to finish, just spritz some hairspray at a distance. My hair looks naturally wavy and feels/looks healthy.Of course I highly recommend this product! With Christmas and New Year approaching, try something new!

I've been trying to get the beach wave look on my hair naturally for a while and it's always a bit hit and miss so I decided to invest in something that would give me a consistent result. My hair, although not thick, is very heavy and very straight. I find curling irons difficult to use and my ghd straighteners did not give me anything like a wave. The wave envy styler is SO easy to use it's unreal! I use it on the highest heat setting and it take's me less than 10 minutes to do my shoulder-length layered bob. The waves stay in for days (at least four before I have to wash it) and that's even with using heavy duty conditioner which usually stops it holding any kind of style.My hair is also heavily coloured so the fact I only have to do it once means it doesn't get damaged. I use it with salt spray and a shine spray serum so it doesn't look frizzy. I am so pleased I bought these wavers and would highly recommend them to anyone :}

I spent a lot of time researching the different 'wave irons' available before deciding on the Babyliss version. I decided on these due to the cost and also because my hair is only shoulder length I didn't want an iron where the curls would be 'too large'. After receiving them and using them for the first time I am really happy with the results! They warmed up really quickly and I used them on the middle setting (which was fine for my hair). I liked the fact that they came with a heatproof mat to put them on as well. It took me around 10-15 minutes to wave my hair, and once completed, I used hairspray and then gently brushed to make them look less 'severe'.The waves lasted for 3 days and everyone commented on how I had done my hair.Also - in Boots these irons were £50, much cheaper on Amazon!

i bought these wavers in february and have fallen in love with them!i was a bit skeptical at first as i dont have much luck with electrical hair items and my hair is useless at maintaining curls,i'm lucky if i get an hour of curls after having heated rollers in so i wasn't holding out much hope or these but i was pleasently surprised!i have medium length,very thick hair and it takes me about half an hour to wave all my hair it's that efficient and the waves stay in for days!!i wouldn't recommend brushing it on day two to avoid looking like the mad woman of the hills,a wide tooth comb and some leave in conditioner to get your waves looking fresh is all you need.i would certanly recommend theseto a friend and since doing so about half of them have gone out and bought these!

I would recommend the wave envy to anyone. I have waist length thick hair and I managed to wave all of my hair using the wave envy in 20 minutes and the result was amazing. I started at the roots unlike what they show in the video demo and it looked natural and lasted a couple of days without having to redo. What I liked the most is after I had waved my hair, it was still virtually the same length as when straight which is a lot different to the effects of a curling tong which tend to dramatically reduce the length of your hair. I also found that curling my hair using curling tongs, the curls had come out by the end of the night no matter how much hair spray I put on.I now choose this product over my hair straighteners as it looks loads better and is much quicker!

Got these for xmas and they are great. Years ago I used to own the babyliss crimpers (I think they were babyliss). I loved them too! Its helpful to watch the you tube video on how to use them but they are easy enough, you don't pull them down the hair like straightners which I think some people might have done and obviously they don't work like that. Anyway they are fantastic. My hair is quite thick and it was great. I also did my daughters hair which is a bit thinner then mine and the results were just as good but they seemed to work better with a bit more hair in them. We both slept that night and both woke up with the wiggly hair....love um! Well done babyliss

Edit: 5 years on & it still just as amazing when I first brought it.Best waver iron i have ever used.I have thin hair and my hair takes great to it.It is so much easier to do your hair aswell.Depending how much hair you use and how long you leave the iron on your hair for... If you use your hands or gently brush it makes it all look natural.I have used a lot of irons over time and this has been the best one i have ever used. Worth the money and you can get the job done quick!I use to do my hair everyday for work & I always had compliments about my hair.

So easy and quick to use and gives you beautiful curls. Makes my fine hair which is just past shoulder length, some much needed, lovely volume and texture. Use the low setting for soft waves or the higher setting for more defined waves which gives a very curly effect that I absolutely love. My only problem that I have is that it keeps disappearing and ending up in my daughter's room, yes she loves it too. Great buy at a fantastic price. Much better than curling tongs or other styling tools that I have used. Comes with a small heat mat too!

Bought this item on Friday and used it for the first time that same day. I have long fine hair (very very fine) that never holds a curl when I use curling tongs. The waves looked really natural in my hair and I got a lot of compliments on the style, people who I'd not met previously thought that I had naturally wavy hair as it looked so natural. It only took about 20 minutes to create the style and was very easy to do. The day after the waves looked amazing still. I'd highly recommend this product for ease of use and great result.

I have struggled with many a styler trying to get my hair curly or wavy until I tried the babylis wave envy! I can't curl hair with ghds and if I use a curling wand or curling tongues on my own hair it doesn't work. I have short hair and reading the reviews people said it wasn't the best but for me it's amazing I got the nice beach wave look, teamed with a little sea salt spray and hair spray, scrunch in a few places and I have my desired look. Really please wish I would have bought sooner!!!

Basically a crimper, but instead of the angular crimps with conventional crimpers this gives the impression that you have slept in loads of tiny plaits.Very quick and easy to use and everyone commented on how amazing and eye catching my new hairdo was. When I first styled my hair using this tool I was a bit shocked as I looked like Side-Show Bob. However, after a few hours, it soon settled into a more hippy/boho look.The style stayed in until I washed it, really good appliance.

Love them! So quick and easy to use! I have short and fine hair and got a wonderful big, messy, bedhead sort of look in a matter of minutes. I went on YouTube and watched a couple of tutorials on how to use them on short hair to get the best results as you can just as easily end up with a pants result if you don't really know how to make the most of them :) https://youtu.be/sTDnJa1ekOAthis video I found useful...except I used Vo5 smoothly doss it moose not bedhead :)
