I needed a 1mm thermal pad to replace the torn factory pad on a Dell Inspiron 1525's chipset and this fits perfectly. After fitting this pad the chipsets idle temperature has dropped by about 10 degrees C according to Aida64. Texture wise it feels soft and squishy, just like the old Dell installed T-flex 540 pad. You'll need a sharp pair of small scissors like on a Swiss Army knife to get a clean cut, otherwise the pad could tear around the edges. I measured the old pad for this laptop to be around 20mmx16mm so I aimed for those measurements when it came to cutting a size.Unlike thermal paste where less is more you should aim for a small amount of overhang on all sides as this will prevent thepad from slowly migrating once the heatsink compresses it.Once cut to size gently remove the clear plastic from one side and seat it upon the die of the chip (reflective shiny part), try not to touch the die or exposed pad as skin oils will hinder thermal transfer. When the pad is correctly seated go ahead and remove the other piece of plastic covering it.And that's pretty much it, as the heatsink is tightened down the pad will compress and mold into shape. On my laptop the processor and chipset share the same heatsink so I had to clean up and apply fresh paste to the processor at the same time (see the included picture). This pad isn't intended as a drop in replacement for paste, paste is for filling in very small micro gaps whilst these pads are for larger gaps. Not replacing like for like could lead to overheating and even permanent damage to the chip.tl;drThis thermal pad works great.

I bought this to improve the performance on my XPS 15 9560 laptop. This laptop is powerful, but there is a slight design fault. The VRMs on the laptop have no cooling capacity (no thermal pads or heatsinks). When you use the laptop at high load for a long period of time, the CPU and GPU temperatures may be cool, but the VRM temperatures can become really high (as high as 95C!). When this happens the laptop will thermal throttle, lowering its clock rates and reducing performance.I followed an online guide and stacked 3 of the 1.5mm thick 6W thermal pads ontop of eachother on three of the hottest VRM chips, such that the thermal pads touch both the VRM and the aluminium back panel of the laptop. This essentially turns the laptop's back panel into a giant heatsink for the pads.Since doing this mod, (as well as reapplying thermal paste) my laptop no longer thermal throttles, meaning when I play video games my frame rate doesn't randomly shoot down after about 20 minutes of gaming.Overall these did exactly what I bought them for. They were a little expensive and there are cheaper alternatives from other brands, but I wanted to be sure they were compressible enough to still allow the back panel to fit properly.

The performance of this thermal pad is amazing.I used this product to replace aging pads for VRM components, installed by the manufacturer on my Asus laptop. The old thermal material that was used on the VRMs was all dried out and messed up. I was able to cut this to size No problem - and the thickness of this material matched up with the stock material.? System is much quieter and cools better too.ⓘ Make sure to clean the VRMs, Chips properly before use.If it’s not a brand-new surface, use Alcohol and Cotton cloth to remove any grease/oily residue, may need some cleaning with pencil-eraser to get everything off.ⓘ If you have a laptop with metal body - then use these thermal pads to contact thechips with the metal body (the pads will serve as an intermediary between the chip and the metal body). The metal body of the device can absorb and dissipate heat much better.✔ Pros:+ High thermal conductivity / High-performance thermal pads+ Non-conductive+ Cuts and applies extremely easy+ Affordable✖ Cons:- No complaints(I will update this post if any quality issues arise)Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. It’s like a permanent solution that won't degrade over time.Definitely recommended!

After cleaning the vaporised residue of ectoplasm from my CPU and heat sink, opened the packet to a familiar smell.I began cutting this down to size with a pair of scissors, but quickly realised it also had a familiar consistency. Then I picked it up to place it on my CPU.I realised why it was so familiar. That slightly sticky feeling on my fingers. That slight stench of the first years of school. Is it blu tack?Is it putty? Is it really solid thermal paste?Who knows.I shrugged and dumped it on the CPU, then set about crushing it beneath the mighty heat sink. After some effort, it finally clicked in to place, and lo and behold - it was about as effective as the crusty layer of dust I'd just removed.Turns out the old heat sink is irredeemably dirty.Fortunately, this has given me the perfect opportunity to test one of this thing's key benefits - its re-usability.Just like blu tack, it will just peel away ready to fight another day!Still not convinced this isn't just expensive blu tack, as my new heatsink came with some MX-4 pre-applied. Maybe it'll sit in a drawer ready for next time...

I used this for a DLP chip replacement on my TV. Some applications like mine should not use paste because it can squeeze out and get into areas you don't want. In my case it could get into the optics which would ruin the DLP TV. I think if the manufacturer originally used paste I would stay with that since paste is thinner and should have higher thermal conductivity, But, if you need to fill a space or a pad was originally used then this is a great product. You should choose a pad thickness that is about 50% compressed when installed. The higher the thermal conductivity the better it cools. This pad is rated at 6W/m-k which will be better than a lower number, say 3W/m-k.It should be noted that a thermal pad that is twice as good will not mean the overall cooling is twice as good because the thermal impedances are all additive. In my case going from a 3W/m-k to a 6W/m-k pad probably only made a difference of 1 deg C, but why not use a better pad if you can.

Bought this product to replace a couple worn out thermal pads on my Dell Latitude E6410. The heatsink connects the CPU and GPU into one common heatsink with the CPU using thermal grease and the GPU using thermal pads such as this. I had previously replaced the thermal grease for the CPU and just cleaned the GPU and reapplied the old thermal pads. BIG mistake! The computer had never overheated before but now would regularly overheat unless it was on my fan pad. So I hopped on Amazon to see about finding some new thermal padding and found this. Opened the computer up again, cleaned all the chips and heatsink super thoroughly, and reapplied the CPU grease and the new thermal pad to the GPU.Hasn't overheated since! I don't have any real data but I'm fairly certain the air coming out the side is considerably cooler as well. And since I only needed about one square centimeter I'm sure I will have plenty for the future! Can't recommend this product enough!!

There are many uses for thermal pads, televisions, computers, and the like. You would not be looking at this if you did not know what they were for, so let me say clearly that these pads are of good quality and will replace a damaged one with like or better cooling. The pad size is listed in mm, so for the metric challenged, the size in inches is approximately 5 11/16" X 5 11/16"x1/16" thick.Because they are a pad infused with arctic thermal compound, they do an excellent job transferring heat generated by small components. I have used this product in a power supplies as well. This is a very handy and versatile product for the electronics world.

I used to replace some damaged pads on my GPU, worked perfectly and easy to work with too. Some tips - throw in the fridge for 30 mins prior to applying, this will make it more durable and more "solid" as long as you work fast. When cutting to size, do not remove the protective plastic. When applying to a component, remove one side of plastic, and put that face down first, apply a small amount of pressure to help the pad adhere, then use your finger nails or a tweezer to remove the top layer of plastic.I believe following these instructions will avoid any of the pitfalls that the negative reviewers have fan into.

Used it on my xps13 9343, core temps haven't gone past 80 with multiple programs like Premiere, Photoshop, Chrome, Solidworks etc running concurrently. Bottom of the laptop does get hot (as expected) so I use it on a table/desk. Installation was a breeze, no adhesive needed as the pad is sufficiently sticky and easy to cut to the desired shape too. Note that it sticks to the bottom aluminium cover of the laptop (of course it has to be in contact with this bottom cover in order to pass heat to it) which means it takes some nudging to get this cover off whenever you need to take this bottom aluminium cover off.

Needed to add a heat shield to something and rather than buy a little piece this is a sheet about 1/2 the size of A4 paper at 0.5mm thick and comes flat in a poly bag delivered via postman in a Jiffy Bag !My only criticism is that I would have liked it to have a slightly better adhesive quality as it's a pain holding it to a vertical plate as gravity rules and it will slip down . . . Can I use double sided tape . . . or glue or anything . . . couldn't find any comments and I don't know what it will do to the heat transference qualities . . .IN place now and I hope I don't have to access it again !

I got this pad to replace the crappy/misaligned factory pads on the RAM modules in a CUH-1200 series PS4 that I did a power supply replacement on. This worked perfectly for what I needed. It was pretty easy to cut into the size needed. Wasn't sure what the thickness of the OEM pads were, so I went with the 0.5mm. In case anyone is doing the same thing, turns out you need 1mm for the PS4. No big deal though, just doubled up the pads. They're easy to apply or reposition if needed, as they're tacky but not adhesive. After reassembling, I monitored the temps with an IR thermometer and they were good.

My 10 year old NVIIDIA GTX8800 was playing up, various unwanted errors (short lines, patterns, and program crashes) seen on the display. The problem wasn't very consistent. As a "now long in the tooth" electrical engineer the symptoms suggested a thermal problem so I replaced all the thermal pads between the heat sink and the ICs with this item which was easy to cut to the various sizes needed. I also used the associated thermal paste to guarantee good thermal contact. Result: I now have a working NVIIDIA GTX8800. N.B. I did not attempt to re-flow the solder as some suggest to fix this problem.

Brought these pads to replace the OEM Dell pads on a old (2013) laptop which was upgraded to a quad core CPU. They are by no means thermal paste levels of thermal transfer but do seem to make a very impressive compromise when filling a gap too large for paste. The amount of heat on the heatsink on top of this pad is immense. They transfer a brilliant amount of heat and honestly seem to be the best thermal pad you can buy. The adhesion is strong enough to stay in place but no so much that you can't undo the heatsink again.Would strongly recommend!

Used this to replace the thermal pads on my Razer blade 14 laptop as i wanted to open it up and see if i could drop the temps slightly by re pasting the cpu and gpu, the thermal pad has done a very good job, my temps have dropped significantly.comes in a little bag and covered in this plastic protector wrap... make sure you remove this as i nearly forgot :-/was easy to cut to size and to lay on where i needed it, its not very sticky though so be careful when applying.Overall im very happy with this product, did exactly what i needed it to do

After cleaning the laptop and reaplying thermal paste in both CPU and GPU (GTX 980) I was having some crash to desktop issues after 30/1 hour of playing time. After some faultfinding, i noticed some original thermal pads got damaged during the reassembly. These bad boys did the trick, After replacing with these, no more crashes and no more artifaats while gaming, cannot judge on performance compare to others but for me it did the trick! :)PS: Look and feel looked way better than the original thermal pads, were easy to apply and well packaged.
