Love this little fan! It's effectively a computer cooling fan, but on a flexible USB stalk, which is a genius idea - computer fans are made to be on for hours or even days at a time without trouble, and they have developed over the last decade to not only be very effective at cooling but also really quiet, and that noise level is the absolute best thing about this.Your traditional travel fan sounds like a swarm of angry wasps and skids around the table like an ant. They also tend to have the effectiveness of a drunk daddy long legs trying to blow over a lorry. Not so here. It's perfectly quiet enough to sleep with, has very little vibration, and although it doesn't deliver a hurricane,it does provide a good steady breeze that you can feel from at least 4ft away. The goose neck is great for directing it in exactly where you need it - up, down, diagonally, whatever. I had it connected to a USB power bank on a shelf above the bed and could easily bend it around the edge of the shelf and direct it down on to me.The design is robust. The blades are solid and have a good balanced weight and the motor and rotation is very smooth. The goose neck is the only downside. It is stiff and solid, which is good, but it does stick out a good way from the fan making the whole thing quite long and difficult to pack. It'd be better if you could wrap or coil the neck around the fan in some way so it was more compact. I also feel that the neck is going to be the weakest part, so pack it carefully. My only other (very minor) gripe is that there is no switch to turn it off - you just have to unplug it. A simple on/off switch on the back of the motor, or even better some kind of variable speed controller on the USB plug would really help. For some people, having it USB powered without it's own battery might be a problem, but for me I appreciated that I could plug it in to my power bank and not have to worry about buying batteries etc. The other advantage is that you can use different sizes of power bank and it'll run for longer, or plug it into a laptop or USB wall plug and it'll run indefinitely. I used a 5200mAh power bank and it ran pretty much the whole night - at least 6 hrs. In fact I woke up at 4am and had to turn it off because I was cold!Overall I LOVE this fan. It is soooo much better than any travel fan I've ever seen or used before. It is robust, versatile and very quiet. All that for £8!! My girlfriend loved it so much she stole it and I had to buy a second one!Pair it with a good quality USB power bank (such as https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00P8SY7HQ) and it'll make trips to warmer climates much more pleasant all round.

This is a really nice looking fan for starters - very stylish. The review is for the Arctic Breeze Black USB desktop fan.I purchased this purely for a bit of background cooling, and that is really all you get from this fan, so don't expect the same as a standard mains powered desk fan.I wanted something to produce a breeze, but not so much as to affect the telephone, since when having normal fans running callers complain that I sound like I am in a wind tunnel - no so with this fan. The conversations are unaffected. Bonus. The fan really does seem to be designed and built with high quality in mind. The adjustable neck is good and you can pretty much get any angle you want from that. The RPM adjustable knob is a clever touch. On the full anticlockwise turn there is a switch to turn is off, then turning clockwise you start the fan with a nice click, then as you continue to turn the fan speed increases. The switch feels of good quality. On Max, you can feel the air from about 2 feet. Much further and you probably wont notice it. On min you would have to be pretty close to the fan but either way there is air being moved.Imagine a hand held battery fan and how much air it can move, well this is very similar, perhaps slightly more on the full speed setting. It is basically a 9 CM PC case fan with the frame removed and stuck on a stalk. It is pretty much silent, especially on the slow speeds. Even on max you can only just about hear the fan. In a regular office environment this will appear silent.I like the range of colours you can have. It is heavy enough not to be a liability and touching the blades doesn't cut the fingers. You will instinctively pull back if you do touch by accident anyway.Overall, happy with the purchase and it will get plenty of use!

This fan is everything that I wanted and more.I have to sleep with one of those big oscillating fans on 3 to sleep comfortably and my girlfriend hates it. She hates having to sleep in my bedroom because I want my beautiful fan blasting cool air on my face all night long. She did not appreciate my driving over to her house and bringing my lovely massive fan with me every time and I decided that I would compromise! I had read about these USB fans. I saw one of them in a major stationary chain and thought "oooooh, I don't want it to be encaged in a little box where I can't angle it... I WANT MASSIVE FREEDOM!"THIS FAN IS MASSIVE FREEDOM. Though the length of the neck might not seem much,it is perfectly adequate to get the giant angle which you need. As I lie here on my front on the couch, this majestic creation is aimed directly at my face at a beautiful jaunty angle. I am as cool as a cucumber. I have repeatedly tried putting my fingers in the way of it to slow it down and it hasn't seen any signs of breaking or stopping.I haven't seen any signs of it draining any major battery power from my 2011 Macbook Pro either. It just hangs out, being a portable, convenient, beautiful, gentle breeze which is as quiet as a ghost's whisper.EDIT: I discovered that I can plug this into a one of those external battery power banks that are all the crazy lately and it works all night long. It now sits on the window sill at my girlfriend's beside her bed where it blasts elegantly over my slumbering head. It's the best.

Honestly, this little fan is a lifesaver. I travel to London regularly on the train and, on some days, it's hotter than a devil's nether regions. They don't have any air-con and there's no air when people are packed in like sardines with their sweaty armpits. When I travel I usually have my laptop out because I'm working and I don't want to waste time. Every time I plug in this bad-boy I get smirks and giggles from people thinking 'what a geek', 'what a loser' or 'oh my god, has he just done that?'.By the time we get from Waterloo to Vauxhall (one stop), the smirking has stopped and it recedes into a deep green envy. And I'm like, up yours suckers! Who's the loser now? (In a very smug telepathic way)Yes,I still look like a bit of a douche but I'm a cool douche and that's what counts. I'm not the one who's got a totally socking, see-through shirt or sweat dripping off my nose by the time we reach Clapham.Another added bonus for this little beauty is the fact you can plug it into a rechargeable power pack. This was a godsend for my pregnant wife who was climbing the walls in mid-summer. She sat in bed, chilled out and let the air sail over her bump and through her hair.Honestly, this fan is nuts and a steal at the price. Fact.

I bought this on 19 Oct 2013. It's now just over two years and this Arctic Breeze Mobile 92mm USB Fan (not the hub kind) is still going. I've used it a lot to help cool down my PC. Unfortunately now after two years, it's starting to slow down from the amount of power - telling me it may be soon about to fail. I am not sure how long these are supposed to last, but I'll say it's had a fair run.I used it on my small form factor PC that I took a panel off my to allow better airflow. I never used the fan on laptops. The fan would bring the maximum temp down by 10 degrees Celsius - at the most. Don't expect miracles, but it all helps. Also in the summer, it helps to cool you down. It's not so nice in the winter to cool the PC down though! Chilly bones! My only gripe, is I wish the metal 'stem' of the fan was a little longer (almost double the length it is now) as for a PC it's quite short. If it was longer it would allow almost direct contact, and would provide more cooling. The 'stem' itself is fantastic, I love this design as the fan can be placed in awkward places where a free standing fan wouldn't reach.

I bought this fan to use with my Raspberry Pi, as I had noticed that it was getting rather warm and I am a bit over sensitive about technology I love. When I was looking online for a USB fan, I noticed there were lots of chunky devices, and so when I discovered this small, neat one, I was pleased. I would have preferred another colour as white can be seen as a bit bland, however the other choices for colour where over triple the price, which I found confusing since this one is only £6.The fan itself is pretty much perfect for my uses. It is perfectly 'plug-and-play', as in, I literally plugged it into the usb port on the computer and it instantly began with no troubles. It is very quiet and you can not hear it unless your ear is right up against the blades. The bendy metal arm originally disappointed me since I could not bend it to hover over the Pi perfectly, however, I managed to balance some weights over it and after about an hour I had managed to bend it in place.Overall, I think this is a very high quality fan and possibly the best value one that money can buy.

Bought a pair of these, one to carry around with my laptop, and the other one to help ventilate my TV cabinet. My cabinet is an Ikea BESTÅ with glass doors, which is placed up against a wall, so the airflow in its default state is not amazing. My Xbox would ramp its fans up to maximum speed after about 15 minutes of gaming (causing quite a bit of noise) and there is also a Sky box and some other electronics which also generate a fair bit of heat. After a bit of cable management I managed to get this fan plugged into one of the Xbox's rear USB ports and directed out towards the cable management hole at the rear/top of the unit, and this seems to have improved things considerably! The unit is now noticeably cooler if you open the doors and feel around, plus the Xbox can now run fine without its fans ramping up to maximum. These fans are extremely quiet, bordering on silent, so they could be used anywhere without ever being annoying. The adjustable arm also seems to hold its position very well.

This is a deceptively efficient little fan. On first turning on I wasn't overly impressed, but after leaving it running for a few minutes I realised it was doing a very good job of cooling the air around me. It was purchased to help me live through my hot flushes which I had been managing by using a 12" desk fan placed about six feet from my armchair. Those of you who are going through the same will know how frustrating it is to turn a fan on because you're too hot, only to be turning it off again five minutes later because you're too cold, and repeating the process again and again during the evening. The Arctic Breeze is small enough to sit on the table by my armchair so convenient to turn on and off as the need arises.I am running it off a usb battery pack to get around plugging it into a usb port. I purchased a second Arctic Breeze to use in my bedroom; that one lives on my bedside table plugged into a spare usb 5v 1a phone charger. The motor is very quiet and doesn't interrupt sleeping.

The styling and build quality of this device are very nice; it's small, smart-looking and its weighted base means it stays put easily enough wherever you choose to place it.In operation you can't really expect too much from a USB-powered fan. Even on the maximum setting the breeze you get is quite weak. It needs to be close to you if you're going to feel it at all, and on a hot summer's day I imagine it would be like trying to douse a raging inferno with the contents of an ice bucket. It's more "Arctic" in name than nature. The upside is that the fan is very quiet. This is easily the quietest fan of any description I've ever owned,so it gets plus points for that.If you're looking for a quiet fan that will give you a gentle breeze and won't take up a mains socket, then you could do a lot worse than this one. On hot days, though, it probably won't be enough to cool you down, and should be looked upon as a secondary cooling device.

As far as USB fans go, the Arctic Breeze is one of the best I’ve come across. Purchased in 2015 and it’s still going strong in 2019 so reliability is unquestionably top tier. It’s very compact and packs a decent punch. You shouldn’t have any issues keeping yourself or your laptop cool. Durability is also excellent. The fan is malleable and can be bent into position very easily and will retain it’s form too. It’s also quiet and perfect for late night use.I originally purchased this to give some desperately needed air flow to my Surface Pro 3 for some light gaming and it’s done wonders. Before the purchase, I would be lucky to get a constant 30 FPS on CSGO at 720p. However, the fan has dealt with the thermal throttling fantastically and doubled the frames! It impressed me enough to use it for all tasks and not just gaming. If you’re experiencing thermal throttling on your laptop, this fan could be your saviour!

I ordered this as a replacement for a different version I previously had but with USB port connections for other devices. I decided to go for this version as I no longer required additional USB's. I needed a fan that was quiet but able to provide enough airflow for night time use by my bed. This has a brilliant 'turn up' button on the front giving it a low 800 revs up to a speedy 1800 revs. The button also turns off and on the unit (unlike a previous review I read where it suggested there was no 'on/off' function). I can not recommend this fan highly enough. I tend to have the fan on constantly (I hate not having the feeling of air on my face even in the winter). The fan is soooo quiet,my wife can't hear a thing on the other side of the bed. I would recommend this to anyone, in-fact I will be buying more for other rooms and my desk. EXCELLENT

Works perfectly for keeping my Surface Pro 4 i7 cool. I am a serious power user and have managed to get the surface to shut down due to overheating but not since using this. It doesn't ever use thermal processor throttling now.I power mine from the dock rather than the surface USB as it only has one port and this is the reason for the 4 stars: It's not the fact that it won't run from the USB - It probably would. It just that there is no power switch for when I go home at night so I have to unplug it which will wear the port on the dock and that's a lot more expensive than this fan.MANUFACTURER: FIT AN ON/OFF SWITCH!Other than that its great and I think it would make a reasonable small face fan for a desk too.Just don't touch the blades when on as it hurts. Not dangerous though, just painful.

First impressions are surprisingly great here; apparently this is the same Arctic who've been making CPU HSFs for a long time now, and it feels quite well-built and sturdy. It's basically silent; there's a very slight whoosh as it does move a good amount of air, but no whining or screeching from the motor. On the downside, it can be a bit fiddly to get it oriented the way you want it because the fan isn't shrouded. The blades are quite thick plastic, however, and you're not in danger of being cut etc., but it does make adjusting it while it's running fiddly. That aside, this is perfect for an office desktop. It doesn't disturb, blows a good amount of air, and is really inexpensive. You should get one.

Having looked around for a decent fan for my desk for sometime, I read the feedback for this item and thought 'this is exactly what I'm after!'Working in an 'agile' office, you never know where you'll be sat from one day to the next, so I needed something that was easily portable. This is just that & gives a lovely cook breeze as and when I need it.I will give this 4 stars as the only negative thing is that it can't be switched on and off on the stem, so angling it into position whilst its switched on can be a little tricky. Just watch those fingers! Other than that, well worth the money & I'll be buying another one to plug into the other side of my laptop in time for Summer!

I wasn't too sure about this fan because of the reviews but I had very little choice so I went with this fan. I'm glad I did because it shifts a surprising amount of air.No, it wont be as good as a full mains fan and you shouldn't compare it with one, which I think the other reviews are. Although small (20cms in height from usb to top of the fan) it's a nice little fan, looks lovely and nice and flexible so you can move it about. You cannot move it too much, but that's fine enough for my purposes. I would say, if you are too far away this might not be the best but if you get a usb hub and put it on your desk (for desktop computers) it should be fine and it's great on a laptop
