My 3 year old daughter loves this game. We saw it in a shop and she wanted it and I saw that it was slightly cheaper on Amazon so decided to buy it here. She absolutely loves matching the pictures and initial letters and blends in this simple game of alphabet lotto. Like bingo, children have to compete to see who fills their 'bingo' card first by matching pictures and inital letters of the associated word. My wife and I play with my 3 year old daughter and while it doesn't exactly excite or enthuse us as parents to play, my daughter absolutely loves it and seeing her smile as she plays and enjoys it is all worth it.My daughter has been learning phonics at home and this game reinforces those basic sounds in a game situation without her realising that she is acutally learning! The game cards and pieces are durable and not flimsy at all. It would be suitable for all children learning their letter and initial blend sounds but would be too simple for any children who are beyond this stage of development in reading. Highly recommended for its educational value and support of any phonics learning going on at home.

I bought this for my 3 year old grandson and was so pleased with the simplicity, and yet feel it is the most powerful alphabet tool I have seen for a while. The pieces are colourful, durable and the usual excellent quality I have come to expect from all Orchard Toy products. It makes learning the alphabet interesting and my grandson loves it. The five boards have two sides, one showing colourful pictures and the other side just showing letters, so four ways to play. You can either match the picture on the card with the corresponding picture, letter with corresponding letter, or even mix them up, matching picture with the letter it begins with, or putting the correct picture with the sound it begins with. All this with your child in the play mode, whilst all the time teaching them the letters of the alphabet.Yet another brilliant idea by Orchard Toys and excellent value for money. This game will keep children's interest for a long time.

I bought this for my pre-school class to help the children with their letter recognition it has worked a treat. The boards are thick and hardwearing as are the little cards. You get 2 sets of cards one just letters and one pictures that start with a certain letter like abc flashcards. the colours are bright and the pictures engaging. I have used this to help children who recognise the alphabet to learn the phonics as well. the pictures encourage lots of discussion and are bright and friendly. The children love playing this game and have not tired of it yet and have had it nearly a year.

I love these Orchard Toys games - they have just the right mix of fun as well as being edcuational.Four different ways to play which covers a great range of years. My daughter is 4, but could have played at 3 and got a great deal of fun out of it.Helps with recognising matching either pictures or letters, and then to make it more difficult matching letters to the picture or vice versa. Also helps with memory as having all the pieces turned down on the floor, they have to remember where the piece they wanted is.Can't rate this game highly enough.

I brought this for my 3 & 1/2 year old to help backup the phonics he is learning at preschool. The games are well designed so he can play with just pictures and not worry about the letters for now and then as he gets used to the game there are different variations involving the letters. As such I can see this game lasting a long time. As anyone with boys will know, they can be reluctant to engange in learning activities, but this game makes it fun and means they can learn without thinking about it.

Alphabet Lotto is in our top 5 board games... To be fair, All 5 are Orchard Toys Board Games!5 boards to choose from. Each board has a letter side or a picture side. 2 play options for each side. Either by matching pictures or letters or by matching a letter to a picture or vice versa.Love the inclusion of 'ch' 'th' 'wh'Definitely a good learning game for especially when learning letter and Sounds, you could even include practice phonics when picking cards.Would really recommend.

I am a big fan of Orchard games. They are great value for money and a fun learning aid. My little girl recently started school and showed little interest in learning her phonics, reading, spelling etc. These games were recommended by her teacher and I am so pleased she did. My daughter asks to play them daily when getting in from school and she has learnt so much from playing them, it has sparked an interest in reading and spelling. They make a great gift for her friends also.

I have bought 6 games by orchard for my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves them all and I especially like the fact that we can adapt the game to suit her age as she grows. They are learning whilst having a good time, They are ideal for travel and family visits where kids get fed up. Would thoroughly recommend them. Some of them are a couple of pounds dearer to buy but for the amount of times they are played with you get your monies worth.

My 3.5 year old daughter really loves this. I bought it for her because she was interested in letters and phonics and already her letter recognition has improved. It is ideal for children who like playing lotto/matching pairs type games and who are interested in letters. For children who are not interested in letters, it can be played matching picture cards to the picture board. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it.

We bought this for our 3.5 year old to help him practice his letters at home. It is really great - keeps his interest and you can see him getting better at recognising the letters day by day. The one thing I would say is that the boards contain a few double-letters e.g. sh, wh which are quite complicated to explain when you are first starting out - I would recommend that these were not included in future additions for younger children.

Fantastic game with real longevity. My son received this for Christmas just before he was 2 and got the hang of matching pictures to pictures quote quickly. He's now nearly 5 and still enjoys playing the other versions, which also support his school learning. My 2 year old daughter has just started to join in with the picture to picture mode too. We have lots of Orchard games and love them all but this is definitely favourite.

This is a beautifully made game with bright and lovely illustrations. The instructions are easy to follow and the game is great value for money as you can play it in FOUR different ways! I bought it for my able nearly three year old and she loves it. This game is teaching her the letters of the alphabet and their phonemes in a fun and highly interactive way. We have added it to our growing Orchard collection.

My grandson is only 2 but is able to play this game in its simplest form and he loves it. He is always very keen to play and learn things, so loves matching the picture cards to the pictures on the boards.Maybe not playing it like it should be but he will in time.I think a lot of the orchard games can be looked at before the actual 'age suitable' as you can just learn from pictures and letters and so on.

We love Orchard Toys anyway, but this game is brilliant. It has really made learning letters and word sounds fun. I have brought it for a birthday presents because it is so good and they have been greatly recieved. Highly recommended. I am buying them for 4 yr olds and with parents help are a great learning tool. Also recommend the Shopping Game for younger kids. My 2 1/2 yr old loves it!!

My little boy loves this game. He has just turned 3 and likes matching the pictures to pictures but has given the letter a go. He knows most of the alphabet, so can recognise them which helps with his memory too. The only thing he doesn't like is the double letters 'ch', 'wh' etc it confuses him, but I'm sure will come in no time. Great, would recommend to other parents.
