Totally Gross gets the highest rating possible…they laughed their heads off throughout the game. It was full of references to farts and boogers and little known facts and they are armed with more knowledge than they started. A hoot of a game! We got this gift for my son's 10th birthday. I thought he would love it, but he was somewhat skeptical about it and wasn't impressed with the name of the game. However, the other 4 kids in our family got together and immediately played this game with much laughter. My 11 year old daughter and her best friend have played it three different times now and they get into the biggest giggling fits while playing it. The games is pretty educational and my kids have learned a lot of cool facts from it now.As part of the game, you stretch your slime across the board. My son hates this and this is why he doesn't want to play the game. But, my daughter and her friend think it's absolutely cool.My son could easily play the game without the slime and use a mini toy to mark where he is on the "slime" track as could other kids who don't like the feel of the slime. I assume this is what we'll also end up doing in years to come when the slime dries out or becomes dirty from all the handling it will get.So, I gave this 5 stars for the joy and learning it has brought most of my family.

This is a game all about the gross things in life - in our bodies and all around us. It is a science-based game and helps kids learn tons of facts. In the box is a game board, 140 Question cards, 50 Gross-Out cards, 30 Lab cards, 4 playing pieces, a die, and a jar of slime (yes, slime.) The 140 question cards cover all of the major aspects of science: biology, chemistry, geology, astronomy, zoology, anatomy, and physics! The game is great for 2 - 4 players, ages 8 and up.In the game, kids go around the board answering (gross!) questions or doing fun (gross!) challenges. They use a bit of slime to move around the board! The first to get 10 point spaces complete and complete a lab experiment correctly wins the game.My 8 year old twin girls LUV this game and my 4 year old twin boys enjoy watching them play. It can't get better than this! Kids (or adults) enjoy the disgusting facts (They are really learning science!) or "dares" on this game and all have a blast! This is a 5 star product. My kids agree!

I got this game originally several months ago for something fun and different to play with my grandsons when they came to visit me and thought that I really needed to write a review for it. The oldest was 10 at the time and the youngest was 5. The youngest cannot read the cards himself so his older brother reads them for him, but the 5 year old answered (or guessed the answer) to the questions himself. They absolutely love this game! Tons of really fun (and yes, GROSS) facts! The experiments can easily be done in the kitchen with things most people have on hand. The slime, as other's have complained, was a bit of a problem getting it to stretch and stick to the board. But,we quickly found a remedy to that situation but just taking a blob of slime and moving it down the board instead of trying to stretch it. The boys like this just as well as stretching it. Very fun game and has become their favorite! I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

I read a lot of the reviews here before purchasing this product. Yeah, there's a lot of potty humor. You do lots of off the wall stuff (I had to smell my husband's armpit - I do that every night when I tuck into bed, though not purposely.) It's a funny, silly game that is probably best played with family members or very close family friends. There's covert educating going on but it's nicely disguised as entertaining, funny, and disgusting. If you're averse to discussing natural body functions in front of other people - this isn't the game for you. If you have a child that is into science and how the body works and is a bit ornery - you'll be re-educated and your child will be rolling on the floor. My son, who is 7, thought it was a hugely funny game. He even seemed interested in the "boring facts" that weren't related to body functions. It's a good chance to laugh with your children - and that in itself is pretty valuable!

It's a fun game, the trivia is really fun both kids and adults. There aren't too many games where children and adults can really sit down and play something - unless it's just based on luck, which this game is not. My son loves acting out some of the challenges, and I caught him studying up on cards while not playing which shows he had a general interest in the trivia aspect of the game. My only complaint is that I wish we never used the slime stuff, because it got on the side of the cards on accident and now all of the cards stick together and my son was pretty upset when he went to put his new game away. This wouldn't have been so bad if they used a different material for the cards with a smoother surface, but now I pretty much have the buy this game again to have all of the cards replaced.

This game is so much fun for the entire family. My 9 year old loves and even my 4 year old niece got in on the action. She didn't actually know what the answers were but found it funny!! We are a board game family and I have to say this one is becoming one of our favorites. Another good thing is it comes with a ton of cards each of them having 3 questions you choose before you start the game if you are going to read top middle or bottom. We have chosen to do all the top questions until we run out which will take quite of few games to do so. Some people gripe about the slime drying up, we have not had that issue but even if it does I can pick some more up for under a buck or play the game without it.Another plus any kid that can read can play it without an adult!!!

My husband and I gave this to my 9 year old for his birthday and the whole family loves this game. It is easy to play with challenging questions, yet the little ones (5 and 3) can just take a guess and still enjoy the game. After each question is answered there is a sentence or two to support the fact. The challenges are sometimes a bit gross or inappropriate, but that is just what keeps my 3 boys wanting to play an educational game. It is the perfect mix of fun and brainy. The green goo is used to keep track of your score. Brilliant idea to keep kids interested. This is always my choice for family game night. The game is fairly quick, unlike some games. It is also an active game.I have recommended this game to several people.

This is a really cute game. My 9 year old ordered this using some of his Christmas money and we had a chance to play it this past weekend. Love the concept. It's fun and silly yet educational. He's a little shy so some of the cards have him doing things like 'show your belly button' which is helping him come out of his shell ... and once you show your belly button, you learn fun facts. The lab cards are a lot of fun and the questions are relatively easy that I think a wide variety of ages would enjoy this game. It's well made - all around - five stars! I'm not sure how well the slime will hold up over time but that's not a deal breaker and definitely doesn't 'make the game'.

Bought for 4 year old nephew. Pretty cool, game play includes travel around the board with a game piece and slime (he loved the slime). Card questions are all science facts although a lot were a little advanced for him so we modified our play a little bit for him. Cards have multiple questions on them and the rules say to pick whether you will be using the top, middle or bottom questions throughout the game. For him we cherrypicked questions."Dares" were not too bad either (if you land on a dare square you have to "attempt" the dare) it was stuff like show people your toes. All in all he enjoyed it and the adults were happy with the educational aspect.

One of my kids (7 y.o. twin boys) liked this game better than the other, but both find it fairly entertaining. It took them awhile to get used to the idea that you wouldn't be expected to know the answers to some of the questions. A lot of the questions are the kind of thing you would have to guess at, no matter how much science you know.I was looking for a fun way to talk about science-y subjects and this game definitely fit the bill. It definitely has some "potty humor" so it's not for everyone. However, my kids are greatly entertained by such humor (akin to "Capt Underpants", their favorite books) so it's great for us.

My family loves this game. We have had a blast playing it. We homeschool our sons and this game is fun and educational. We've been able to use it as a starting point for a variety of topics. Something in the game interests them and they want to know more. I love that the game ends with a mini lab experiment. My kids are 8 & 5 so these mini lessons are perfect for their age. The last time we played the lab experiment was to cover the remote control with foil and try to turn off the tv. This led to an entire discussion on light, reflection, lasers, etc. I can't think of a better way to cover science every week.

While I was reluctant to purchase a game glorifying grossness--I'm glad I did. Not only is the game very high-quality and well made, the facts that children (and adults) are learning along the way are a fantastic science primer. Off the top of my head, I can think of one such fact--that cows and sheep burp methane gas which is harmful to the environment. I highly recommend this game--my children are 11 and 8, the questions are such that there is an advanced, medium and beginner level on each card. That way, you can have various ages playing together with each being challenged but not discouraged.

We've been playing this for a fun part of our homeschool day. My children have actually been able to answer many of the questions because they are things that we've covered. However, the other day, we had a question that we knew had the wrong answer. It stated that owls could turn their heads ALL the way around; we spoke with a birds of prey caretaker just a short time ago about owls and the ability to turn their heads around, so we KNEW the answer with 100% certainty--the game was wrong. Other than that, my kids have had a lot of fun with the review and learning new things.

We gifted this to our 9 year old nephew who giggles at farts, the poop, and everything else you can imagine. I wasn't sure how this was going to go over, but he opened up on Christmas day and didn't want to stop playing (I mean his father had to tell him that was enough, the game was over). Coolest part is you can keep track of your spot on the board with real slime! The cards encourage reading and learning about science! I'm so glad I pulled the trigger on this one. SO worth it and it'll be played for years to come
