Both my children saw this game advertised on TV in the run up to Christmas and added it to their Christmas wish lists. We originally ordered this from Amazon on Dec 10th, however, by the 17th there was still no sign of it coming in stock and being dispatched--despite the fact it showed as instock on games's page. So when my husband found it in a well known toyshop we cancelled out Amazon order.Think Words is a fast and furious, often frustrating game, where you have to think of something thing from a chosen criteria that starts with any letters remaining on the wheel. You only have ten seconds to think of you word or you're out. My two have had great fun playing this every day since they got it; they've played with everyone from friends to grandparents. It's really good fun.The whole game is self contained. And there are only two parts, the large game wheel and a deck of cards with the subjects to think of words about; these fit into a special compartment underneath the wheel, so you can do away with the box, if you want.It loses a star for two reasons:1) The plastic it very brittle and the mechanism/spring that keeps the letters compressed doesn't feel like it will last very long--my niece got this game also and it took her a while to learn to release letters using the wheel and not push them up from underneath, which would break the game beyond repair.2) You don't get the whole alphabet on the wheel, it only goes up to 'W', so there have been occasions when we've shouted out a word before pressing the letter, only to discover we can't have 'Victoria' or 'Umbrella' etc.But overall, this is a great, fun and educational game and perfect for the holiday season when families are all together and in need of some fun.

We wanted a game that was quick to play with little or no setting up, and simple rules. This is an excellent example of that type of game.Basically, you choose a card which has a category on it, and then all name words in that category in turn - some of the answers can be highly amusing! The only problem we had (and this may be because of the people involved, to be fair!) is that some of the answers were very dubious and because of the pace of the game you are so busy thinking of your own answer that you miss one that really shouldn't be allowed - e. g igloo as answer for something that can be found in garden.Lots of fun though,if you're not competitive enough to argue whether the answer is in fact correct!

As a family stocking filler this looked a great option for all ages and didn’t disappoint. The premise is simple pick a card and use up all the letters pressing each down when you “get it” each game takes 2-4 minutes and is lots of fun. Though the cards are limited in breadth you can make up other options easily as the game is adaptable.Downside of this being the timer didn’t work and never did – to be honest using an egg timer was just as good and would save batteries.Great fun and good value

We are massive fans of word games in our family and are always on the look out for something new and different. This game is like 'Tell me' and 'Scategories' but with the 'twist' that you have to go through the letters of the alphabet ...It is a great 'time filling' game. It isnt a board game that you would sit down for an evening to play for hours, but is perfect for a big group, or a smaller gathering with a spare 5/10 minutes to fill. We played it on Christmas Day while mum was making lunch.

This game is brilliant. Great design, no setting up, no fidley bits and no packing away. Just take it out the box and it's ready! It has a handy compartment underneath for the cards so none go missing. Games are fast paced and typically last 1-2 mins. My kids are 9 and 12 and we can't play this without laughing our heads off. You basically pick a card with a topic on such as "foods in the freezer" and take turns to shout out your word and press the letter it begins with Then reset the timer.

We played this as a game on Christmas day with 2 people through to 8 people -ages ranging from 10 - 60yrs - and we all enjoyed it. The concept is simple and quickly understood. the machine is well designed and because the games are quick to play too there's no time to get bored.... So you can unpack start or finish and pack away within a minute too - with the playing cards being fitting into an integral part of the machine nothing should be misplaced.... A good party game for a mix of ages.

Our 6 year old grandson wanted this game even though it is aimed at age 8 plus. Some concessions had to be made in choice of subject to allow for his age so we did not play the game exactly in accordance with the instructions but allowing for this he enjoyed thinking of answers. It also gets the adults brains working! The circular unit which acts as the focus of the game consists of a central timer (batteries not supplied) with letters of the alphabet of keys around the circumference.

We got this for our 8yr old daughter who absolutely loved it.Pros: It's a great game for making you think fast on your feet.I think it will help expand my daughter's vocabulary.Cons: The timer is quite loud which got a bit irritating after a while.Instructions could be better. We're still not clear on the category cards - they are split into 4 colours but for no apparent reason. We've just been choosing a card at random and picking the category we like best!

This was bought because we had my daughter her husband and our grand daughter coming to stay on Christmas day. and that means no TV during the day. I pre ordered the game after seeing it on TV and it seemed like fun. We were not wrong in that assumption, you have 10 seconds to answer and reset the clock ready for the next player, add to this a grand daughter who when she thought of another answer butted in and gave her answer, which made it even more fun.

We have had this game out every Christmas, since it's release. Four generations of family gather around the table and play it, usually before the kids go to bed - and quite often the adults continue to play it when the kids are asleep. It's a simple, slightly fast paced game & the item itself is quite strong and has put up with enthusiastic pushing of the buttons quite well over the years. :)I really recommend this as a Christmas game. What a great fun game this is! Christmas day saw us collapse into giggles as we all- ranging in age from 6 to 89- blurted out the first things that came into our head as we raced against time.( We could have done with a bleep machine to edit out some of our hilarious and occasionally risqué efforts!) Joking aside, it was fun, a good educational toy and a wonderful game to involve all of the family without the youngest feeling disadvantaged.

This game was my grandson's choice as a birthday present (courtesy of his mum & the family grapevine). No alternative was suggested, so it was top of his list - and he can be picky, so it must be good! The Argos online ordering was easy-peasy & picking the game up when doing an ordinary shop meant there were no problems from start to finish. Thanks, Argos & "Think Words" for probably the easiest present-buying safari I can remember!

A great game for adults and older children. Basically it's a thinking game and some of the categories include 'James Bond Films & Characters', 'Things in the Bathroom', 'Brand Names' etc. My 6 yr old grandaughter definitely had trouble playing this as you have to think (within a time constraint) of items beginning with the letters given, which obviously decrease in choice as guessing progresses. Looking forward to playing this more.

Bought this for family fun over the Christmas holidays. It was a huge success. Everyone getting very excited trying to make sure they wouldn't be the one that couldn't come up with a word. You don't have to use the categories printed on the cards, we made up some simple ones just to get us started, like breeds of dogs, favourite Disney characters. Really fantastic fun and very simple to follow..

This was a joint Christmas present for two of our grandchildren who were already familiar with the game. The reaction on opening the present was out of this world. The long shrills of excitement went on for ages as well as the 'jumping for joy'. We had never witnessed such delight before when opening a Christmas present. It was played over and over that day and since. Superb.
