Wow! This CPU cooler has really blown me away! When first reading about it I was a bit skeptical but I needed a good CPU cooler that wouldn't cost me more than £30. My first option was the CM Hyper 212 EVO naturally, but due to it being the cheapest on amazon and "out of stock" I had to pick another cooler. I stumbled upon the Thermalright True Spirit series somehow while browsing the internet, there were a FEW really good reviews about it but not much information was available. (Link to one review with test is below). I decided to take the risk and purchase it, I expected it to cost around £25-£30 but was surprised it cost only £20 on amazon! It's also been seen as cheap as £18!Happily I placed the order and after waiting a total of 4days it arrived at my door. I followed the instructions and got it attached to my motherboard (Arctic-MX4 thermal paste was used). This was used with an FX6300 CPU. I ran Prime 95 for about half an hour and the temperature wouldn't budge from 47C, this was great as the stock cooler used to hit above 60C when I ran Prime95 for 15mins and 61C is the max for the FX6300. Idle temperature ranged between 28C to 32C. These results may not be that great but I forgot to mention that the fan on the Thermalright reaches a maximum of 2000RPM, while testing it out I didn't let the RPM rise above 1150, so fan at around 55% speed is still achieving excellent results. It is also VERY QUIET! My stock cooler was hitting 3500RPM so you could imagine how loud it was but the thermlaright is absolutely silent.Stock Cooler:Idle Temp: 32C (3500RPM maxed out)Prime95 (7mins): 57C (3500RPM)Thermalright True Spirit 90:Idle Temp: Average 30C (1150RPM)Prime95 (30mins): 47C (1150RPM)These temperatures are not bad and overclocking the AMD FX6300 is an option although I have no need for overclocking at the moment. The fan speed has not been maxed out and you could achieve even lower temperatures when it is maxed out (see review below for proof). It is only 125mm so much smaller than the CM Hyper 212 EVO. Review below compared this cooler to the the EVO 212 so check it out! and prepare to be surprised. I have nothing more to say really, great cooler, performs like £50+ coolers, small and really quiet, excellent price! Get this cooler NOW!Here's the review, this review is mostly about the CM Hyper 212 EVO hence there's a lot of information about it but if you go to the last page where the results are you can see the temperature results of this cooler and CM Hyper 212 EVO. You'll also see that apparently this cooler is louder than the EVO 212 but this is NOT the case, this version of the cooler is the newer more quieter version!http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/coolers/display/coolermaster-hyper-212-evo_5.html#sect1

Firstly please note that I replaced the supplied fan with a Noctua 92mm PWM fan so I can't comment on the supplied Thermalright fan HOWEVER the heatsink itself I can comment on and it's excellent, very high quality and great value (even at £25.95 which I paid for it over a year ago). The mounting is rock solid & extremely secure although not necessarily easy to fit unless you have good access to the underside of the motherboard. Used everyday to cool an overclocked 3570K and the temps are great; it stays below 55C even when gaming which is very good indeed for a small cooler. I have also owned the similar CM Hyper TX3 and Zalman Performa CNPS5X but this Thermalright is a cut above quality wise(although to be fair the other 2 weren't bad either)

The instructions for this are just....not good. I gave up trying to install it after 3 days then one night snapped awake and understood what I'd been doing wrong. Basically The screw holes they tell you to use in the diagram aren't the right ones in every case. Also mine was missing a screw which meant I had to use one I had that was slightly too short. Once I'd figured it all out however, I was glad I did.My processor was running a little hot for a while....idle temps exceeding 50 celcius, which is just not good. Gaming I was getting close to 80. Now I'm a cool 40 average most of the time including gaming, and this thing is virtually silent. I turned all other fans off except for it to listen and it was barely audible.Looks slick too.

This is a remarkable cooler. While browsing on Amazon - as a common test condition each time, it's knocked 20 deg C off my CPU temperature when compared to the supplied cooler, and as a bonus, it's knocked 15 deg C off my motherboard temperature, too, whose rather high temperatures were bothering me. In fact, everything is running cooler - it's clearly changed the airflow inside the case, not unexpectedly as my previous cooler was the standard top-down fan. I haven't yet cranked it up playing anything taxing, but I expect it will hold its own. Certainly very quiet at idle, too.

Instructions were a bit fiddly and had to use the reliable source of YouTube to sort out the mounting bracket and how to mount it to the motherboard (the diagrams weren't too clear in terms of where the actual fixing positions were for an AMD board), but got there in the end and it wasn't too difficult.Anyways, in terms of performance, it definitely does the job cooling an AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core CPU. CPU was kept at a max of 30 degrees centegrade. So, overall, god performance at a great price. Also fits my mATX case snugly, where a 120M wouldn't.

Works well, however the clips are of quite soft metal , and hang in thin finning probably 1/32'' aluminium to my mind not good engineering practice . The fan is separate and if at a later date you want to change the fan this can be done quite easily.Dissatisfied by the clips on their own I have added silvered copper wire as support, tightening with a pair of pliers on each side.It now works well and will never fall off. Cooling an Intel i5 temperatures at any time are slightly up or slightly down on 30C.

Impressive, 15 deg drop on i7 compared to the intel supplied cooler and running a lot quieter. If you are buying a cooler be aware that you may need access to the rear of the motherboard (this does) so if specifying a system from scratch will save a lot of work in the future if it allows access to the rear of the board, mine didn't and I had to take board out to fit cooler. To be fair I cannot see the sense in spending the equiv of a new motherboard on a cooler when this costs £20 and works well.

I would have expected the instructions to be a bit clearer. The heatsink is fiddly to fit. Thermalright could do with supplying a more in depth instruction leaflet. Its supplied with some thermal paste. Quick tip, you don't need to use all of it. If you put too much on, when you put the heatsink on your processor it will push the paste out an over your CPU.

Keeps my CPU nice and cool and helps with my airflow management at the same time (see pic)Great value and low enough to fit in my media centre. It's very quiet too, so perfect for a media centre.Easy to installing, just remember to install the bracket before the motherboard like I did and you shouldn't have any problems.Photos added :)

Reduced the running temp of my CPU by about 15 degrees Celcius, came Quickly and was well packaged, sadly it didn't come with any thermal paste but that was expected

Once it's up and running it's great and silent tricky to start with had to remove motherboard
