Well, this is unlike the board games of my youth! I needed a bit of background from grandsons as to Bakugan and having watched them play, this is my interpretation of the game, which is suitable for age 6+.Bakugan is a new world which emerged from the Earth's crust, but alien creatures are trying to take control. This board represents a battle arena and the game is suitable for 2 players--one a Goodie and the other a Baddie. All the characters are collectible models in their own right and this game includes an exclusive Dragonoid Bakugan. Each player chooses 3 Bakugan characters (rolled into balls), 3 gate cards (one of each colour) which they lay face down anywhere in the battle arena, and 3 ability cards ( one of each colour metal) which they place in front of them. Then battle commences. Once more unto the breach, dear friends....Both players then roll their "champion"(my description) into the arena and the idea is to get the Bakugan to land on one of the gate cards. The gate cards are magnetised, and this will make the ball open and form the character. The "champion" can stay in play once unfurled but ones that remain unopened are removed from the board. You score according to what happens to the ball--where it is and whether it opened and whether it rolled on then off the card.Your opponent will then challenge your "champion" by trying to get their Bakugan onto the same gate card--and then battle can commence! You can then look at an ability card and follow the instructions to gain points and see who wins that battle. If it's a tie, usually (but not always!), the person who landed on the gate card first, wins and removes and keeps that gate card.Continue to battle until one player has won all three gate cards. There are over 100 different Bakugan characters to collect, and this is really the special appeal of the game--having all sorts of people and scary aliens to choose from, and also have a collection of figures to display when you are not playing. You can download an app for Bakugan and get further instructions and more complicated versions of battle by watching on-line videos. This is a great game, fulfilling the human instinct to compete, with learning how to concentrate, improving spatial skills, and helping with simple arithmetic and choice. It's going to work out VERY expensive if your child wants to collect every character, but I think they will enjoy playing the game. It's well made and original.

My kids used to have a game similar to this when they were kids, they are now grown up with there own son who's 7 years old, he was thrilled to bits when I brought this out for him to play with when he was visiting me, he tried to get his younger sister to play with him but she had no interest so deffo a boy toy! So his dad knew what to do and showed him the ropes, he soon got the hang of it.I do think it's too expensive for what it is and to play it properly you need to buy extras!

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas as he'd seen advertising for it and thought it looked good. My grandson is into Pokemon and the 'figure' (you only get one) that comes with the game comes as a ball that unfolds upon throwing it, similar to Pokemon.I bought a Bakugan starter pack to go with this game and really glad I did as you definitely need more than one Bakugan figure to play the game.

Nice size battle arena where you battle 2 - 4 friends with little plastic bits using a flicking unit. Last one to be knocked out or stop spinning wins. Hours of entertainment and lots of fun. I can remember having similar toys like this when I was younger. Sort of brings back memories. Good build and there is instructions to play certain ways or you can plays however you want.

Bought for boys for Christmas and they loved it. Youngest one even played but didn’t understand rules but still had fun with the bakugan throws. Info sheet inside for instructions on how to play which is good as didn’t have a clue how this worked. Would recommend to parents of kids that enjoy playing the bakugan characters but never played the game

My little one loves this game, it's a shame it only comes with one Bakugan though, or it would be better if it was cheaper to buy and didnt come with any, as it is a bit expensive for some plastic and cardboard. That said it really does enhance the game playing in a proper arena. Really a must buy to get the most out of your Bakugan Battles

Requested for my friend who has primary age boy who loves these sorts of games/toys he really likes this already invited friends over to play! Mom's one critique was the board does not feel like it will last/take too much hard play but they love playing with it for now it keeps him busy & happy mom gets some P&Q :)

Worth the money for how occupied it keeps my son, he is a 7 yr old technology addict, so nice for him to play and use his imagination. Would have been good to have 2 figures as 1 is impossible to battle with, luckily he recieved other sets from this to incorporate.

Its nice compact to store and play just rolling the Bakugans its easy and fun for younger kids under 6. They excited when it touches the magent card and opens it. I myself haven’t understood how to play the game though :)

Bought as my son is collecting bakugan and he loves it.It would be better if the board and frame lock together rather than the frame just resting on top. Just need to be careful when moving it during a game.

Great item for anyone who has an obsessed child who loves Bakugan....quite sturdy, would not have paid the full price of £25-£30 so glad I managed to get a massive discount on marketplace.

Although this may seem overpriced for what it actually is, my two boys love this! I would recommend buying extra Bakugan though to ensure you can have endless battles.

Bought this for 6 year old grandson for Christmas. He played with it for the whole of Christmas Day with his Bakugan figures, so obviously a big hit with him.

Well built and fairly simple card battle game. Younger children may have trouble getting the figures back into a ball. A bit too expensive for what you get.

I would recommend this no thought it would take up space in an already cluttered toy area. But it comes apart very easily and can be packed away.
