This is an excellent toy. The colours are nice and bright, although "pink" and "red" are a bit close. The box is reasonably well made. My set of blocks was in excellent condition.Children love to use these for construction - building towers and houses. Or for making patterns. Learning about fractions is built in - "I need 3 of these to make one of those".With a bit of care this set will last a lifetime. Even with some rough and tumble you'll have the set for years.Obviously, the smallest item is a cube with sides of 1 cm, so watch any children who still like biting things.Similar sets are available at much higher prices. Some sets come with a booklet. This set doesn't, but many people find those booklets useless.(And they're probably available online somewhere if you want that kind of thing.)

There are three hundred coloured sticks in 10 lengths, neatly arranged in a wooden box with compartments for each length of stick. The box has a sliding lid printed with a useful depiction of all the coloured sticks and highlighting what 'number' each colour represents. The number also equates directly to the length in cm. Other reviews suggested that it might be difficult tidying the sticks back into the box. Perhaps so, I haven't got that far yet. You might want to write in each compartment what colour sticks should go back into it, because once they're out it may not be obvious which compartment to put them back into. Delivery time from The Toys and Games Store was 7 weeks and two days...something to think about.

I wanted Cuisenaire Rods for my 7yo daughter to help her with her multiplication, but didn't want to buy her plastic rods.I'm pretty happy with these. They're OK quality (we do have an interestingly Rhomboid shaped white "one" rod, but it still does its job.)The wooden box with a slide lid is nice (although the top is bowing up slightly now maybe due to damp weather)For the number of rods you get (300) this set was the best value price I could find. There are slightly cheaper sets available, but they've got far less rods.

I wanted these for ages and they were finally reduced-yay! I had the learning resources plastic cuisenaire rods but these are much more attractive as they are more precise, more square at the edges and for tactile quality you can't beat wood. One niggle is that there are only 6 tens. I will have to mix in my plastic tens for some of the lessons as I would need 10 tens to go to a hundred. Still good value though.

Good product. However there were 16 white little blocks missing. Helps to have complete set when packing away so you know there arent any missing.Disappointed on that front.Otherwise well made, good box to keep them in.The colour may be similar on two of them however they are completely different lengths so easy to sort.

These are great! I strongly recommend these if you plan to teach your child maths. You will have to get creative, but it's worth it. At the moment we play making "trains" of similar numbers to understand multiplication, e.g. a train of 4 2s is the same length as an 8.Works well with the Numicon Number Rod Track.

Very good learning aid for a visual, and/or kinaesthetic learning style in maths. Item was just as described and the quality good. My 5 year old is very happy using these for his sums, they'd have been beneficial for me at that age too!

excellent value for money. The blocks are just the right size and with so many in the box it makes it very easy to go from 5+8 to 100+250. My child loves to use them and will often ask to do some Math with the blocks! Win!

I bought this set for my grandson, as 35 years ago I did for my own son. The rods are a most imaginative and liberating way to introduce children gently to basic mathematical ideas and relationships.

Good for teaching number bonds and tables; these demonstrate the ideas I wanted to put across very well, without actually spoon-feeding pupils with the answer.

They are really useful in teaching my girls. The quality is also very good - Will last a very long time (if we don't lose pieces)

I used for my son in year1 and he likes to do maths with this sticks. Very useful and the product arrived in good condition.

Fantastic value. Comes in a nice box to keep them in. On 2 the colours are nearly the same but not too much of a problem.

It is great to be able to buy Cuisenaire rods so you can teach number and algebra to students of all ages.

Super quality, great storage box, clear colours and way more blocks for your money than the competitors.
