Great value proper OEM product in proper Shimano packaging. Great value for money. Comes with 1 full length OEM outer and 2 full length OEM inners, plus 6 spare end caps and also 2 cable-ends for crimping on. Totally recommend the seller The Woolly Hat Shop also - I ordered them on standard delivery Thursday afternoon, and got them pronto tonto in the post on Saturday morning.Took me 2 mins to fit them, (thanks to the excellent "how to" videos on You Tube from Global Cycling Network).Tip - make sure you have some proper cable snippers - I tried using pliers, and they just fray the end of the cables, and won't cut. I ended up using tin-snips, which worked a treat - if you use pliers, you will be cross, because your lovely new cables will be in a frayed mess before you can blink.Tip #2 - if your cables run inside the bike frame, you run the risk of "losing" the cable within the frame. My job actually took A LOT more than 2 mins - because I spent about 20 mins trying to fish the cable out of the frame and route it properly. To avoid this make sure to get some thin tubing and thread over the old cable to get to the opening at the top, pushing it up inside the bike frame and then out the top - and then tape it in place so you can then push the new cable through that and it automatically follows the same route as the old cable.Tip #3 - check the exact spec of your shifters so you make sure you know where to thread and unthread the cables at the handlebar end. I looked at the website I bought the bike from, (Evans Cycles), and like most stores it shows the exact spec of the shifters fitted - Mine are the new Shimano hydraulic brakes with cable shifters, (very nice BTW), but the cables run through the front of the shifters to avoid the hydraulic reservoir - took me a while to find them - I did so by typing the product spec, (RS505 in my case), in to the Shimano website - and the full fitting guide is on there, showing you where to run the cables. A really nice touch !!!I just saved around £100 with these £7.99 cables - so I treated myself to one of those Amazon Alexis Echos !!

I recently had to change both grip shifts on my bike, as they were very worn. The gear shift cable outers were also looking a bit tatty with splits & kinks, and sticking a bit, so I decided to change them as well. The kit comes with a 1.7m length of genuine Shimano SIS outer cable, with the silver logo printed on it- although this only appears in one place. I cut the outers using my Rolson cable cutter, which produced a fairly clean cut, although I had to trim the spiral wire back just a little with wire clippers afterwards, as the cut edge sometimes stuck out a bit. It's always a good idea to poke a sharp object (I used a bradawl) through the middle of the outer after cutting to flare out the plastic lining. The supplied plastic ferrules are a snug fit over the cut ends, and really make the cables look neat. I like to give the inner cables a light coating of Moly grease before feeding through. I didn't use the supplied inner cables, as my new grip shifts came with inner cables already fitted- but it's nice to have a couple of spares. After assembling & adjusting, the gears were shifting much more smoothly, with no sticking. The kit also includes 2 aluminium crimp ferrules for the cut cable ends. The kit from the Woolyhatshop was reasonably priced, and it arrived promptly.

superior to non-PTFE counterpart, but not as low-friction as sealed systems such as Gore Ride-On.after 6 months of all-weather use at 250-350 miles per month, including heavy rains and snow, i find that shifting still works swimmingly so long as I maintain the cables and housing. every 3 months or so, i slide the housings off, clean/lubricate the area where the housing covered the cable, and then slide the housings back on. this has a noticeable affect on the cable's resistance, but I find it restores shift quality to as good as new. for half the cost of ride-on, and with the additional option of (orange!) colored housings, I think this is a great buy.i bought it online because the bike shop wanted almost twice what amazon did,and the shop did not offer any color other than black.

Amazing cables, would have been five stars if they gave more length- I'm riding a cyclocross bike and there is continuous housing from the end of the top tube to the RD. Literally another 2 cm would have been enough routing the shift cables along the front of the bar with the brakes solved the problem, but it was too close for comfort (and there is more friction that way). Also make sure you sand down the part of the cable which will be clamped to get all the PTFE off or your bike will continuously come out of adjustments.Aside from the length issue, the cables are glorious. Rode my buddy's new 11-speed ultegra and the performance on my 10-speed 105 was worse, but not by much. They're better than they were from the factory.

Easy to use and makes tight turns without being too stiff. The only thing is the system needs to come with more end caps for the cable housing. I had to use some from my previous cable I removed to have enough. Let's be honest, that little piece of plastic cannot cost at most 2 cents each to Shimano! Plus each bike is different in it's need of different cuts of cable. I would put like 10 of those in per kit. Other than that I could not be happier.

Not much to say here, I needed some shifter cable housing because the brake housing I was using was causing indexed shifting problems. This was cheap and did the trick. If I was doing both levers it would have been just barely enough so measure carefully. Since the left side was friction I left the brake housing and had more than enough for the right side only.

I found this a good complete kit. I was changing brake and gear cables on a mountain bike recently and used this for the gears. It came well packaged and was good quality. I had no problems installing and was convenient that it came with the end crimps and fittings required.

Good quality cables at a reasonable price. My rear mech cable had got to the point where gear selection was slow, stiff and sometimes non existent. A new Shimano cable, inner and outer, cured all of the previous problems and I have a nice smooth and quick change once again.

My cycle has been standing for some time and the gearshift cable had seized. Ordered these and fitted them and the quality was very good and fitted like a dream. I cut the outer and fitted collars on the ends. All up and running again and for a good price delivered.

this a very good material and for the price it should be again you get what you pay for. I had purchased an unknown brand last year to save some money. But in one year the outer cable started to disintegrate. the last shaimano lasted 5 years I hope the last as long

Great package if you need to replace or run new shift Cables! Very easy to install. I recommend you keep older cables to use as a reference for sizing if your replacing old or broke cables. You won't be disappointed in quality!

I changed my chain and rear derailleur, but was still having shifting problems. A friend suggested this and he was right. Now I get quick and snappy shifts again. These cables are well worth the money. I highly recommend them.

I replaced my shifter cables with stainless steel with PTFE coating. I have covered more than 2000 miles and the shifts work smoothly. I expect many more mlles before I'll need to replace the shift cables.

I have a 60cm frame and I got about a foot or two to spare. There was a perceptible improvement in shifting performance. My original cables (not shimano) were 4 year old, it was time. Definitely worth it.

There are 2 cables and enough sheath to do both front and rear changers. I bought two packs but now I can do a second bike as well. For the cost of 1 set from another supplier!Super smooth changes now!
