Optislick does sound gimmicky, no doubt - but it's definitely got a smoother feeling action to it and in this kit you get 2 cables so I replaced the damaged cable on my rear mech and then with the second decided I'd upgrade the cable on my dropper post & it hasn't felt so smooth in a long time (despite the prior cable only being about 3-4 months old)Kit comes with 2 cables, ends for the cables, some funky rubber bits presumably for protecting frame holes for internal routing & a good long length of outer cable so for the 21 quid I paid I can't really complain when 'other' high street store wanted to charge me £12 for some a single run of generic quick-rust cable/outer.

While there are plenty of expensive reinventing the wheels cable sets, if you want something that works first time, every time, Shimano XT is the way to go.Just make sure you have some dedicated bike cable cutters, with a built in end cap crimper. Pliers/Side cutters will just crush the outer, reducing your gear changing performance.

Super quality, as is used by Shimano. Cables are sufficiently long and also the switch outer cover is more than enough available (for a normal 26 "MTB). Only with the small parts (pods, etc.) they could still one or two more reinpacken, that if one times during the installation broken, one not extra which nachbestellen must ...

My old Ultegra 6800 rear mech gear cable had started to fray in the front leaver. Changing had got so bad that frequently the gears were just not changing. I replaced the outer and inner cables with a Dura-Ace set, which was not too difficult, and the changing is restored to its original silky smooth feel.

I can recommend these cables to anyone, just a small detail the description on the site is not quite right, they are not 2 cables of 2100, 1 cable is 1800 mm long

Needed to change my cables after a cassette change to get decent shifting. These work well with no issues. Plenty of inner and outer for a large 29er full suss.

Contains all necessary parts for replacement of gear cables on my MTB. Very good quality. Switching is (again) very smooth. Also smooth order and delivery.

Quality looks good, easy to install and works. The actual driving test still not done in terrain when there is a meter of snow.

amazing difference to changing gears with both inner cables and outer cables - my bike is changing sweeter than it ever has
