If you wear SPD shoes for MTB these are perfect ..ability to use SPD on gravel/uphill but swap turn over pedal & use the dished flat/serrated edge of pedal for the forest switch backs & downhill stretches when wet..Ability to drag foot/unclip when higher ambition overcomes actual ability ....other types like newer 800 have pins in ..beartrap pedals can make a mess of your shins if you don't wear leg armour !

what i love about these is you can use regular shoes one day and the next you can use your spd shoes .ive got these fitted to most of my bikes and i do own a lot of bikes.
