This was my first foray into clipless , i had been putting it off for years as it just did not seem a good idea to be be attached to a mtb bike if i needed to bail quickly.Got a new mtb bike (which surprisingly never came with pedals) , so thought what the hell and after a bit of research found the new Click'R system from Shimano was easier to get in and out of, also purchased some MT44 shoes.Although these are not really mtb pedals as they have no grip , since you are clipped in it didn't make much difference (plus they where cheap). All the guides online say to prop your bike up against a wall in your home and practice clipping in and out ,easy enough. The real test was when me and a few mates decided to do a couple of the 7staines up in Scotland.Never once toppled over , and the few times i had to get my feet on the ground quickly i did not have to twist my heel to get out of the clips , a normal yank got them out.I did go over the bars once and quite easily came unclipped. This was on the lowest release setting but my feet only came out once accidentally apart from the endover. Will keep these on for a while slowly tightening the release mechanism then will upgrade to some mtb specific spd's in the future. One thing i thought with clipless pedals was that you could push down with one leg and pull up with the other to make climbing easier , but came to realize that even though it does help slightly the main benefit is keeping your feet on the pedals and in the same position all the time.So if you are a clipless virgin like i was i would highly recommend these , i probably will come off eventually due to not being able to detach myself quick enough but that's a right of passage.

If you really don't feel terribly confident with clipless pedals, I seriously recommend you get these ones. You get benefits of clipless pedals with the simplicity of flat pedals. When you set off it's so easy to engage the pedals and even if you do slightly miss it, like when you have to re-engage pretty quickly after a set of lights etc, the increased surface area with the cage lets you pedal on until you do manage to engage the cleat. And the pedal is two sided, so no trying to flip the pedal to get the mechanism on the right side. Also, the degree angle in which you have to turn your foot release it is smaller than with normal clipless pedals meaning it's also a lot easier to disengage fromthem but I've never had any incident when it's come come out while cycling so no need to worry about that factor either. Before I got these, I tried out a pair of Shimano road SPD-SL pedals and it was terrible. I was having so much trouble with them, it was on the lowest tension but couldn't engage, could barely disengage and I had a lot of slow falling incidents. They nearly put me off using clipless pedals all together but then I saw these and thought I'd give them a shot and seriously don't regret it. They've made me more confident using clipless pedals that I might be in a position to graduate to the typical clipless pedals but even if that were the case, I'd probably just stick with these ones as I like them that much.

Absolutely brilliant pedals, so good that I'm ordering another pair for my road bike. These pedals give good support when pushing off, they are easy to clip in, they give enhanced performance as you can power pedal through the whole cycle motion and they stop your feet coming off when mountain biking on rough terrain. I'm totally taken with these pedals. I have them on the lowest setting and one little twist of my ankle and my foot is unclipped. They are easy to locate the cleat even when pushing off on an incline. The flat nature of them gives added support when locating the cleat into the pedal. I use my pedals with the shimano recreation shoes which have ridges on the sole.I thought this might affect locating the cleat onto the pedal but it doesn't. I would recommend see pedals to anyone especially if like me, your feet slip on the pedals when mountain biking on rough ground.

I bought many pedals looking for a pair that would allow me to clip my feet in without difficulty. These were absolutely perfect and have made cycling so much better and safer in my opinion. The wide, flat pedal means if you can't click in immediately, you can still pedal safely. The mechanism allows you to un-clip really easily and safely. Just brilliant. My only warning would be to look carefully at the type of shoe you need carefully as it requires the 2 hole shoe rather than 3.

So far, I've never really been able to make friends with Klickpedalen (which is probably because I'm not at a red traffic light as in Zeitlupe, because I forgot to click out XD). With the T400 I tried it again and will not give it anymore. The clicking in and clicking is really CLEAR more easily than with the normal SPDs, you get in any situation very quickly from the pedals. Nevertheless, one can pull in the higher settings also neat :)

Much better than expected.I always ride using Shimano SPD pedals but wanted some with amber reflectors, so that I would be legal when commuting after dark.Clipping in and out seems no different from any other Shimano pedals. The outer platform holding the reflectors is plastic which seems to be wearing well so far.

Great product, didn't want to full commit to cleats as often want to jump on the bike with flats on. Works great with both shoe, cleat is a little easy to release but perfect for the daily commute 22km round trip. Have been using for a year now and have not had any issues and the mechanism is still tight.

very soft spring good for first timers at clipping in. the lowest setting is to weak the hardest setting make it really very simple to unclipif your new at this there great for one to build confidence. how every not for harden of roaders.one the road there very good

For me as a top suit suitable. Easy to grow, adjust and use. The Shimano SH-CT40L shoe model is an excellent match. Point deduction, because the use with "normal" footwear is unpleasant. The 'click construction' pushes into the sole of the foot.

I am absolutely satisfied with the pedals, I ride 99% with cycling shoes and I also do 1% with normal shoes. You can feel the click mechanism with thin shoe soles, a straight support is not available. But I knew that before buying.

Not the best looking pedal but for any one who new to clipless or has weak ankles these are spot on so easy to clip in and out of I'm now started to tighten them up and still find it quite easy to clip out of.

Worried as new to serious cycling that clears would result in falls and / or accidents. These work brilliantly. Easy to locate, easy and quick to unclip and very rarely come out of the clip when cycling.

This is my first click pedal. My greatest misgivings were to the rising and still the descent. With this pedal no problem. The correct attitude I will probably find with the kilometers traveled.

Very easy entry and also the getting off is super easy. When driving (also in the area) secure stop and no unwanted exit. Great power transmission, I can only recommend!

I am very happy with it. Short distances with normal shoes are also possible. Clicking in and out is very easy. I've ordered the pedal for the second wheel again.
