Amazon does a great job of shipping pens. I got my pen a day earlier and was thrilled with the result. It writes like butter slides off a pan, and it is relatively rigid, yet takes writing to a whole new level for a pen at this price point. The box comes with two proprietary cartridges and will last you less than a week. The Sagaris has a glossy finish that is both appealing and reminds us of the quality vintage fountain pens Sheaffer made in the past. A resemblance with the Triumph, it also calls to mind the Snorkel, and has a stainless steel nib (I think), but writes smoothly and has an even ink flow. Although, when writing out of the box, it may be wet at first and the blue cartridge runs on the wetter side, after a few pages the medium nib eases. There isn't much to dislike about the pen. Although, use it posted as it gives a bit of extra weight for people, and for people with large hands that may be the ideal way as the pen is slightly short. This facet of this writing instrument is the only thing I dislike as keeping it posted may cause a bit of strain while writing, but I say this not as a caveat, but to balance this review. I find myself in a hard spot when trying to point at what I dislike. The ink quality of cartridges is a bit on the average side, but the addition of the converter makes the purchase quite economical.

I must have owned and lost about four other Sheaffer fountain pens a long time ago in my first phase of fountain pen use - they suited me better than Parker back then. I discovered an old Sagaris, probably bought about 20 years ago, when I decided to stop using pricey red rollerballs (red biros are often disappointing) and wondered if I had a red fountain pen for easy identification when filled with red ink. I did, so my apparent Sagaris is a different colour scheme from this one, but it works fine after being in a drawer doing nothing for a decade or two.

This Sheaffer Sagaris rollerball is quite heavy and good quality. Ink density is very good and the pen writes very smoothly.I wouldn't normally spend more than £6 on a rollerball but it is a perfect match for my Sagaris fountain pen which is of a similar high quality. I'd say it is worth the asking price (£12).

The best pen I've ever had. Having said that, I would have been happy not to have had to pay for a very fancy box which is quite unnecessary really.

I love this pen. Has to be my favourite, and has a beautiful flow. Would definitely recommend. Even prefer it to my Mont Blanc rollerball.
