I used to shoot with the Samyang 14mm F2.8 (Canon 6d body) and later a Sigma 14mm F1.8. I tested the lens in real world situations under different temperature settings (from -10c to 20c for landscape). I was also carrying the super heavy Sigma 14mm F1.8. The sigma was good for Auroras and timelapses (is a faster lens, but autofocus pretty useless). The Samyang is not as bright but the sharpness and colour transmission have nothing to envy to the sigma. And if you ask me which one I put on my bag? The Samyang all the time. The images captured with the Samyang have more contrast and a lot easier to edit, and lacks the little angels that the Sigma shows int the corners. And the stars look more realistic.

Well built and very sharp at f2.4. Flaring is a bit of an issue.
