If you are buying just for yourself, a pack of two Riedel Magnums should be fine. They are the cheapest and most functional red wine glasses from the most famous wine glass maker in the world. However, if you have a partner who likes to drink, or if you have guests for dinner, there is noticeably better value to be had from the pack of eight Magnums which sells for the price of six.Riedels are quite fragile glasses and it seems unlikely to me that anyone will fail to break one of them before very long - either during washing up or just in setting the glasss down on a dodgy surface. However, at least replacing a Magnum is much cheaper than replacing a Sommeliers!Those who have never drunk wine from a Riedel glass are in for a very worthwhile experience.

These are the only thin beer glasses I have tried, but I can say that they do influence the flavour of beer, just as Riedel wine glasses affect the taste of wine. Previously, I have usually drunk beer from thick, heavy glass tankards, which feel appropriate if you are with a group of mates, for example. But using these on my own at home, I was able to detect more flavour in the beer. It is worth giving them a try, though the price does seem a bit high - ten pounds or less per glass would feel better. Also, I wonder if a longer stem would be better?

Arrived when they said they would and in great condition. The glass is really fine and has a ring to it, like a fine wine glass when tapped.Very pleased with the purchase though given their quality and fine glass nature, I’m not sure how long they’ll last from a dishwasher or breakage perspective, but if you’re looking for up-market beer glasses, these certainly don’t disappoint.

Have a set of champagne Riedel glasses and we love the so i thought i would try these as they are meant to be universal wine glasses. They are lovely and tactile, nice form and great shape for red wine. Look a little fragile but have not had any problems with that. I will be buying more to complete the set. First class glass.

The great John Arllott once said that the perfect wine glass if dropped onto a parquet floor, would bounce. I'm not sure about this one, hence only 4 stars. Otherwise this is a lovely glass, enhancing the pleasure of emptying a bottle of Pinot Noir.I'll update if/when the parquet test is applied.

Well worth investing in a Riedel fine crystal glass - it really improves your wine drinking experience - even wine that is not particularly expensive tastes better in one of these. Not sure I should, but I also put them in the dish washer and they come out lovely and sparkling!

Lovely to drink from. Great value. Not the most elegant glasses, but the short stem makes them less likely to break. They also fit in the dishwasher. I would purchase again.

Purchased these direct from Riedel uk as cheaper. Got a £10 off voucher for signing up to news letter worked out at £18.95 inc delivery. Happy days

Good quality wine glasses, quite durable. I am still careful though as they seem delicate. Fine in the dishwasher
