These pens are, without a doubt, my favourite. The ink is bold, relatively quick drying and very smooth (without being overly viscous like some other gel pens). It works well on all sorts of paper , although it does take longer to dry on some coated card stock. The barrel is well balanced and comfortable regardless of how you grip the pen. The textured plastic grip area is a perfect compromise between a smooth barrelled pen and one with a rubberised grip.Aesthetically, this is a beautiful pen. It may sound silly, but if you often find yourself taking notes it helps to have a pen you enjoy using. It looks as smooth as it writes - you could be forgiven for forgetting it's a disposable (OK,refillable - but the refills are harder to come by.)Although I like the idea of a retractable pen, they are rarely as solid and reliable as their fixed ("stick") brethren. My biggest issue with retractable pens is that the tip often feels loose within the barrel. This can very uncomfortable if your writing style involves lifting your pen from the page often. The G1's retractable counterpart (the Pilot G2) is guilty of this flaw, allowing the G1 to just edge it out.My only (very slight) problem with this pen is that the cap is a little too short. It looks great and clicks in place relatively well, but its diminutive size means it can occasionally be knocked loose in your pocket or bag. It is a rare occurrence but a few extra millimetres on the cap would completely eliminate this flaw.Overall, a fantastic pen for all occasions and unbelievable value for money.

This pen is incredible, worth every penny. As someone who writes quite lightly, this pen helps to make my writing bold and jet black with little effort, which is great! However the ink-drying isn't quick on this pen. It takes about 20 seconds for the ink to fully dry, anything under that and you'll get varying degrees of smudging; I mean, that's if you're writing from bottom to top or drawing a diagram, otherwise for essay writing you shouldn't have any smudging problems.I've used this pen for about 6 months now, and that's really the only problem I have with the pen, all other areas are to perfection.Pros:LightweightSturdy tipComfortableGreat solid linesYou can see how much ink is leftCons:Slow drying (thus smudging)Runs out of ink faster than most pens (went through 4 pens in 4 months,I'm a university student, so I guess a pen per month isn't too bad, but I've had other pens which have lasted half a year)

I bought these green pens to mark school work. I was the envy of my department and kept them with me wherever I went so none mysteriously disappeared!. When I left teaching shortly afterwards, I gave a pen to each of my colleagues who were disproportionately pleased.I was worried that they would be poor quality (compared with Signo pens, which I also have and am pleased with) as they were relatively cheap, but the quality is good. I also prefer them to the Signo pens because they are a darker green than the equivalent Signo and appear to be slightly 'sharper'. I still enjoy writing with them although I don't have to use them for marking. It is a pity that Pilot don't sell a pack of assorted colours,I would buy it.

I used to work in a stationery shop, some 17 years ago. When this pen was first released for sale the shop bought some & I fell in love with it's smooth writing style & ease of use.For me, the 0.7 nib is perfect, not too fine nor scratchy (I find the 0.5 scratchy) and it's so nice to hold in your hand, it fits comfortably. Fast forward some 15-16 years later & I am still in love with this pen. Thank you Pilot Pen Company for making such a great pen!Oh, whilst working for Roundabout Stationery, we marketed this as Roundabout's Favourite Pen for a few months - we did not have any disappointed customers!

The pens are smooth and very nice to write with (and at less than £1/pen, you can't say fairer than that!)The only thing stopping this from being a 5* review was the packing it came in. Amazon's cardboard outer was fine, but upon opening I found the box holding the pens was open, and wouldn't actually stay closed. The pens themselves were all undamaged and accounted for, but I would have much preferred to open a sealed box (even something as small as a piece of tape on each end). All in all, very nice pens at a very good price.

'Comfort' seems a strange thing to ask for star allocation (especially as it also asks for 'easy to hold' - is that not the same thing with a pen?)Anyway, these are my favourites and the only pen I will use. Having said that, one has just leaked all its ink inside the pen (not outside, thank goodness) but it is a waste of a pen and I had only just begun that one. I have bought the refills before and 30% of them didn't work properly at all so now I only buy the whole pens and until this week's leak, I haven't had any problems.

I used to buy these pens regularly from an independent stationer, now sadly closed. I relied on them so much that rather than go to another brand, I searched on-line and was delighted to find them at such a fantastic price. They are great to write with, feel great in your hand, and are amazing value from this supplier. You really can trust these pens - I have nothing but admiration for them (and I speak as one who has spent a lifetime in book publishing and is a major stationery freak).

I first used these pens in GCSE art. My then teacher had a whole pot of them on his desk for us to use.I've since used a variety of different black pens to write with and to draw with but these pens are pretty damn good. They are smooth, easy to hold in the hand and don't look too flashy. Simple and effective. The ink isn't waterproof, so if you're looking for something to use with watercolour sketches etc you might want to consider a Fineliner such as the Pigma Micron.

I have been buying this make of pen for easily ten years now and would not dream of trying any others.I LOVE them. I use them an awful lot each day and they never fail to work.I always try to buy the 0.7 as I take a great pride in my handwriting and find these more pleasing to myself than the 0.5 even though I have used them a number of times when I couldn't get the 0.7.Even if I was a millionaire, I would still buy these pens as you could not better them.

21.8.2018

For any price, I have not found a better pen. I have bought several boxes of these over the years because each pen can be used right to the last drop of ink, without any spots or drop out. Very reliable I haven't had one duff pen in the last 20 years. just be careful to put the top on because the ink gell will leach out onto any clothing it comes into contact with & can be a nightmare to get rid of it if left to long or treated the wrong way.

I have been using Pilot pens for ages now, especially for crosswords, simply because I can use them when lying down in bed. For me this is very important as nothing is more frustrating that having to sit up and have to scribble on a piece of paper in order to get the ink flowing again. The pens is not too thick and not too light or heavy. I am more than happy to recommend these Pilot pens to you.

I LOVE these pens. Previously had a bunch of these that I pilfered from the stock cupboard at work. We have since changed suppliers so now I have had to buy my own. Price offered by Choice meant I paid less than £1 per pen. BARGAIN.They write beautifully, are comfortable to hold and are just all-round great pens. You may have to wait a while for the ink to dry depending on the paper you use.

What more can I say? The pens fit nicely in your hand, they don't slip, the ink always flows and the colour is vivid and easily readable.Forget the G-1 grip version, which always seems fat in comparison. The plain, biro-style version is much more pleasant to hold and use.And now....I have twelve of them! Mwa-ha-har!

Have you ever noticed that with the 'right' pen your handwriting looks fabby? This is such a pen - it really makes my scrawl look really rather presentable! The ink flows smoothly, in a fine line, and the ball glides across the page. The barrel is really comfortable to hold too.I'd recommend this to anyone. Fabby.

seriously good pens - almost too smooth as they encourage me to write faster! Can't talk about longevity yet, but first glimpse hasn't shown any rapid ink decline.Blotting could be a snag - if you leave the pen nib on the page, then more ink comes out - so have to learn not to do it.
