This is my second Parker Urban pen, the first being the fountain pen of the same style which I received as a birthday present about 2 years ago. Because I've got previous experience with the Urban range, the beginning of this review is going to be fairly negative, though it will get better soon, so hang on in there.Compared the fountain pen, this new ballpoint feels cheaper. It is probably the weight difference, and unfortunately, the lightness of the ballpoint lets it down. It just doesn't feel premium. This, as with everything, is a personal thing, as many will find the lightness to be a bonus, but not for me. The other issue is that it is a bit rattly. I'd expect a solid feel, with no rattle, but when moving the pen there is a distinct metallic rattle. But that's it for the negatives. Overall I am happy with this pen. Looks wise, it is gorgeous. Just as good looking as the fountain pen, and the brushed metal grip section is stunning. This ballpoint and the fountain pen are the best-looking pens I have ever owned and would be happy to have the full set.It writes very nicely, too. It has a smooth feeling and consistent ink. One of my issues with the fountain pen is that it can be a bit scratchy, but not the ballpoint. A lovely pen to write with.Overall another great member of the Parker Urban family.

The pens barrel is a polished copper colour, not a pinky gold as the currently fashionable in watches and tablets/phones. The lid is chrome with a pattern of rings on an angle. There's the standard clip on the lid in the trademark Parker shape The pen is well balanced towards the tip, even with the lid on reverse end. The finish is so smooth that it also feels quite slippery. The ink provided in the sample pen is a fine 0.5 black roller ball, write a little like an ink pen but without the blots! The pen unscrews at the writing grip so that a refill. The pen is presented in a solid cardboard box, mounted on material covered card. Its looks fine if the intention is ot discard the packaging but would be disappointing if you wanted a case to store the pen in.The pen comes with instructions, not that they are probably needed once you've used any similar pen to this. in fact they're a little confusing as they're for multiple pens, roller ball, ball point and ink both cartridge and ink filled fountain, you might think that pen would take ballpoint refills or even ink, which I don't think is the case.

Lovely pen with a good weight to it and the feel of a high quality item. The styling of the pen is really nice - I have the Orange Chrome version and the embossed swirling pattern on the top looks excellent, very striking and detailed. The removing and replacing of the top is made super-smooth by some internal softening feature - it feels lovely, and gives me confidence I'm not going to scratch anything during the action (and I haven't, despite using this for 6 weeks now).I would recommend the Fine refills - this is what mine came with, but I have tried the Medium refills since and found the writing to be a little wide and heavy. I would also advise anyone buying refills to purchase these from a reputable supplier,as some I've purchased previously have been faulty (inconsistent ink deposit - possibly really old stock) and had to be returned.

I believe that the test of a ball point pen comes with every day use, then deciding which pen to look for when you need one.....The truth is I have used Parker pens for many years and my favourite one came as part of a set from a very well known bookshop in Cambridge a few decades ago, that is it WAS my ball point of choice now I have a new favourite. The gold rim is just right to fit the niche in my third or is it second finger (the middle one of five) and the muted black barrel sits comfortably between my thumb and palm - it also writes very well - as you would expect from Parker. My previous favourite was a twist to 'open' this one is a press to start so is just that little bit longer and it has a rounder, fuller barrel and the colour scheme makes the pen look something of value - which it is!Recommended.

I was fully expecting to be disappointed with my new pen. I’d wanted the magenta colour and for some reason, it was less than half of the price of the other colours so I was a bit suspicious. However, it arrived in a genuine Parker box (not gift box - I’d chosen the blister pack), is blue ink which I prefer (not black, as stated in the description), is just heavy enough to feel substantial but not so heavy that I’m conscious of it like a previous pen I’d owned and the colour is lovely. Very happy.

Firstly how beautifully packaged this pen is. The pen is held securely in an elegant rectangular gift box with the pen refill tucked inside underneath a card insert. When you hold the pen it feels a quality piece, it has a curved design and a smooth rollerball flow of ink which allows you to write confidently. The pen includes PARKER’s signature on the clip. A wonderful gift that is a pleasure to use.

This is a lovely heavy weight pen, idea as a gift or as an investment for yourself. The top part of the outer casing is a lovely bronze colour, very true to the image on the screen. My only gripe is that the inner 'refill' didn't work well at first, but I left it overnight and it was much better the next day.

Nice-looking, great quality pen, featuring a metal and plastic casing in matt and gloss black with gold metal trimmings. Not as heavy as older Parker models, which makes it wonderfully balanced in the hand. Comes in a beautiful presentation box, so ideal present. It writes just like any ballpoint Parker.

Good looking pen with a quality feel and is light and comfortable to use, I liked the lovely solid expensive looking box , its from a trusted manufacturer and helps my writing to stay nice , smooth inkflow and not blotchy like some pens!

I clearly ordered black ink and they delivered blue ink. Otherwise the pen seems OK. Has a slightly nicer feel to it than the "jotter" range and is a little thicker to hold. Now I just need to purchase a black refill.

Why is a pen that is for sale in India and Nepal only for sale in the UK?The seller has crudely crossed this out on the damaged presentation box!Pen is nice but clearly the seller is not so reputable

Purchased to create a set with the Urban Pen in vibrant blue (actually dark turquoise green). Fab ballpoint expensive but well worth it for me. Lightweight balanced and beautiful colour:) Recommended
