I used these pens for many years because the ink does not 'bleed' through the paper like many other pens do, and they give a strong colour with lines of about 1mm wide which I like. However, a year or two ago, they disappeared from the market place and I had to rely on cheap pens that were made in packs of many colours, for use by children. Then these too disappeared from the market place! So I was very pleased when I saw these Papermate pens on Amazon and I bought several boxes of them. In fact, the children's pens were every bit as good as the Papermate pens, and even though I had to buy them in packs of 6 or 10 or even 20 - just to get a blue one - they worked out cheaper than the Papermate ones.Having said that, I have no hesitation in giving the Papermates 5 stars.

Great felt-tip which can produce lines thin enough for small size handwriting depending on your writing style while still being able to produce bold strokes.I watched a couple of people write with these and noticed the following: If you hold pens very close to the tip and at close to a ninety degree angle, the line will be extremely thin and you will have no problems writing. I usually hold pens at a bit more of an angle when writing and use quite a bit of pressure. In order to produce small, legible hand-writing I consciously have to change my writing style, which is a bit awkward. Other people don't seem to have the same problem. If you want the pens solely for drawing, also take a look at the Faber Castell Pitt artist pens, e.g.,

Love these pens. As a dyslexic left-hander with a dyslexic student, we've struggled to find pens that have the right "feel". I often struggle with pens that don't dry quickly enough and get covered with ink as my hand sweeps across... Not with these. With these our handwriting becomes neater and much more enjoyable :) She has begun using hers to outline her drawings with and have noticed them running out a lot sooner. At this point I realised it was a shame that they aren't re-fillable. I'm not a fan of single use plastic and would love to see them go "greener" with recycled plastic/ return & refill options...

These are okay, but nowhere near as good as the older version. They don't last anywhere near as long. They dry up (or run out of ink) a lot quicker. Sometimes they're a little "scratchy" not as soft flowing as the original older version. Having said that, my writing is still nice with these... I much prefer them to a Biro or other fibre tipped pens. For the price I paid, I suppose they're not bad value... but I still keep comparing them to my old originals that lasted for donkeys years... I was gutted when the last one 'bit the dust'... and these don't quite come up to the mark.

I'm a Graphic Designer and I've used these pens for as long as I can remember! Despite how much I use them each pen always lasts me a long time and I've got them dotted everywhere around my house/workspace/bag. Brilliant - not too thick or thin, perfect for jotting down notes or doing quick sketches so are super versatile. I've never had them bleed through paper either, which is handy when you're using notebooks/sketchbooks. Now that I'm so used to these I can't see myself using any other.Good price, long lasting, versatile, no bleed, smooth to write/draw with = perfect!

Even though I have said these pens don't last that long I still love them!!! Just make sure you put the lid back on them immediately after using them so they don't dry out!!! I am a teacher and i mark all the kids work with these pens; gradually I have noticed my class all ended up with one of the pens to write with as they were 'borrowing' mine. I ended up just buying them all one as they loved them so much! Will definitely continue to repurchase but do they think they are a little pricey.

They write so clearly and sharply - I have trouble with my handwriting and like to use pens that have more of a pencil feel when writing - ie. scratchy with more friction which helps my writing look neater. This certainly helps bridge the gap between using ink but with the writing feel of a pencil. When drawing fast figure of 8, some of the shape is missed, likewise if the pen is held at an extreme angle, you may find it doesn't write consistently, but overall I would highly recommend.

I think I must have been using the original design for the past thirty/forty years and people have always commented on how lovely they are to write with, ie. would I give them the pen?I was disappointed when I found PaperMate had apparently revamped the design. The ribbed barrel did not feel so good and the ink seemed not to last as long as before. This slightly smoother two toned barrelled model appears to be a compromise and I will not be sending the four boxes I ordered back!

I've always loved writing with a felt nib and these pens do a beautiful job.I wanted something to edit a manuscript I am working on. I wanted to be able to write on the page in such a way that it both stood out and didn't obscure the printed text underneath it. The green ink colour has been a god send. They write wonderfully, last a fair old while and don't dry out like I thought they might.I will be buying these again when I get through the 12 I have.

Well, where do I start?I'd accidentally gotten my hands on this pen at work & couldn't believe how lovely my handwriting became. They're great for doodling too as they're like thin felt tips.I hadn't used a Papermate like it before & I couldn't find it in the stationary shopsso I went to online & even though I hadn't planned on buying in bulk I'm glad I did.All twelve were Individually wrapped & promptly delivered.Superb!

These pen's are 'Just GRRrreat' to use. I love pens that have quality, and these Paper Mate Flair Pens sure do have ooooddles of quality about them!! You can use them when needing to create very thin/fine marks and you can use them when needing to create very fat/thick marks with them to, and obviously all the thicknesses of the marks that are in between those thin/fine and fat/thick marks too.Great product.Thank you.

I only really wanted 2 of these, but the price was so good I didn't mind paying for 12.I have used this exact pen for many years and they last a long time, and don't dry out... mainly because the cap is a good fit, the occasional other makes and colours I have bought have dried out very quickly. The felt tip retains it shape too, you don't end up with a 2mm tip instead of a 1.1mm !Just a great little pen really !

The Nylon tip felt pen is a classic - and my all time favourite pen. It's an odd thing to say, that you have a favourite pen, but this really is unbeatable. It writes upside down, or at any kind of funny angle. It's smooth to use, and flawless. The only downside is that the ink isn't waterproof - so avoid using it on the outside of envelopes,in case they get wet and the address smudges.

28.5.2012

Beautifully lightweight with the right degree of firmness - these are definitely a stylish and effective type of pen. The ink dries quickly making it relatively difficult to smudge, and the shape of the nib means you can use angles well to vary the width. This box of twelve will last me a while but I'm always making sure I get them back whenever I lend them out!
