This is an excellent quality hardback notebook, with 192 pages (96 sheets) of white paper, medium ruled in grey. There is no margin and the pages are unperforated. The paper has a shiny look which made me think that ink might smudge on it, but I've tried rubbing it as soon as I've written with a ballpoint pen, and there's no blurring. It's very nice to write on, smooth both for the pen and the wrist resting on it. And unless you press very heavily, the writing doesn't show through to the other side.It is a premium price for a notebook of this size (£6.50 at time of writing), but if quality or looks are important to you for work, or even for pleasure, then this provides both. When it arrives it has a hideous label on the front which completely spoils the appearance, but I'm delighted to say this peels off easily, leaving no mark. The cover is suitable to wipe clean, the pages are sewn in the traditional style, and there is a red ribbon page marker.Inside the front cover is a one-year date planner, printed on a black background. The space for each day is tiny, so would require either very small notes, or possibly a code – there is a space for notes at the bottom, which could be used to note the key to the code. On the facing page, which is also black, there is room for personal details and contact information. On the reverse of this page is a map of the world, and clock symbols showing the time zones for major capital cities.Inside the back there is another black page, this time with a map showing the major cities in and around Europe with, rather poignantly, a list of the EU Member countries (including us... *sniffles*), with their capitals, international dialling codes and currency. I may cut this out and frame it for posterity...I do have one small criticism: it should of course be called Black'n'Red, not Black n' Red – you'd really think someone in the design department would have had a grasp on the use of apostrophes. Ah, well! Pedantry aside, however, this is a smart looking and sturdy feeling notebook, which I'm happy to highly recommend.

This is a high quality notebook. It is well designed. Small details have been thought out so helping you with the overall experience. There are 96 sheets of paper (192 sides or pages in marketing speak). And the paper is 90gsm; so is thicker than most notebooks. It is also high quality paper. It has a smooth feel to it. The weight and the quality means that ballpoints used normally do not cut through to the other side; it will absorb fountain pen ink as well as other types of ink and not bleed excessively or show through to the other side of the sheet. I tested a good quality yellow highlighter and that did not bleed to the other side. The binding matches the extra weight so the book is sturdy and will not fall apart. There is enough give or slack in the binding to enable the book to be folded flat; so enabling you to write without an middle dip or "hump" and taking the strain off the spine as it is opened or shut - thereby increasing its "life". The hardback cover is thick cardboard but will take all the usual wear and tear. It is light and portable enough to carry about. After some months of carrying it around the book will start to give a "worn" look but I like that. There is a ribbon to find your place in the book. There is a date planner for a year (undated); a personal information page for contents or personal details. As well as that a map of Europe; the national rail system; the London Tube system and a useful information page e.g. comparative paper sizes/time zones. You won't go far wrong getting this Black n' Red. Perhaps the only problem is the price (hence 4 stars) but it is good quality and sometimes - yes - you get what you pay for. So if you are likely to be using daily or weekly for some months and want something that won't fall apart or if you want something to be able to store notes in a book that will last for years then this is a good buy.

? OXFORD PROFESSIONAL NOTEBOOK?️ BLACK N' RED? A4 SIZE?️ MATTE FINISH ‘CLOTH-LOOK’ BLACK HARDBACK COVER? RULED?️ 96 PAGES (192 SIDES) 90gsm ‘OPTIK PAPER’? RED RIBBON PAGE MARKER‘Sewn pages ensure life-long durability of your notes ~ ideal for permanent records and archiving.’If I am not requiring margins or likely to have the need to remove pages, this range is always my choice of notebook. No matter what pen I use there is a feeling of pride in the presentation, but I love fountain pens in these with all my different coloured inks. This quality, hardback notebook measures in around 21.25 cm x 30.25 cm overall and opens to 96, smooth-finish, A4 size pages. Each crisp WHITE page has 33 GREY lines with around 0.8 cm gap.The gap at the top of the page is around 2.75 cm, the bottom around 1.5 cm.On the front cover is a removable label, with the key features (last image refers). This removes without leaving any sticky residue.A small OXFORD logo is also on the front cover, along with ‘Black n’ Red’ in RED.A DATE PLANNER is on the inside front cover, with an area for NOTES at the bottom. I started using Black 'n' Red notebooks a few years ago, and plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.Sure, I can get an A4 notebook from Tesco for half the price, but I prefer to pay that little bit more for Black 'n' Red. Here's why:- The paper is lovely and white, and beautifully smooth to write on. Your pen/pencil glides across it- Writing does not show through, so you can happily use both sides of the paper- The ribbon is surprisingly useful as a place holder - I don't know why many notebooks miss this out- There are no perforations or punch holes (I don't need these, as I don't intend to fill ring-binders from my notebook - and I find that inevitably they start to give or tear and pages fall out)- I have NEVER known the spine to break,or pages to fall out, even though I often open these notebooks flat or stuff a load of loose paperwork between the pages- They look classy and professional, and the covers wear pretty well even after months of carrying aroundThe only other type of notebook that I buy is the Black 'n' Red wire-bound. Unlike this Casebound one, you can easily rip a page out and you can fold the covers completely back on themselves so you have just an A4 sized writing surface, but on the down side there is no placeholder ribbon and they cost a little more.Whichever you choose, I believe Black 'n' Red represent the best quality vs. price balance, and hence the best value notebooks out there.[UPDATE] I see some other reviews refer to end papers containing tube maps, etc. These were NOT in the one I received. Mine has ONLY the following: Front: map of the world with time zones. Back: Map of EU countries with capital city, telephone dial code and currency.

I needed a hardback book for university project work to keep all of my notes organised for the purposes of tracking my work undertaken over the period of my final year. After searching for a while this product appeared to be reasonably priced as well as sufficiently robust enough to use over the course period and I made the purchase.Packaging:The book was packaged well in cardboard and arrived in good condition with no wear on the edges or corners where you would expect to see damage caused by transit. The book itself was sealed in plastic to protect from dust and on first inspected looked to be in very good condition.Book quality:The quality of the hardback binding was extremely good and the book felt robust in the hand. The pages were all of uniform shape and size (as I have come to expect with the oxford stationary products) with no visible printing errors for the pages themselves.Use:I used the book for a year to track experimental data so it experienced a lot of movement in and out of my carrying bag. After around 6 months some wear started to show on the corners of the book but it was very minimal and to be expected. Writing on the pages was a joy and no ink ran while writing. I was able to take notes on both sides with no ink showing through thanks to the high quality paper included in the product.I would highly recommend this to any student or professional needing to keep their notes safe with a good writing experience.

The Black n'Red series are well known and are quality books. The paper is very smooth and at 90gsm weight is the same as most photocopy papers. The inside cover has a matrix to show a year in days (12 columns, not labelled) with 29 boxes for February and a space at the bottom for notes. On the opposite page is sections for your personal details, some notes and nine key contacts. Turn the page and you have a world map with time zones and key differences in time for six major cities compared with London. It's all fluff of course but it adds to the books professional look. Inside the back cover is a map of Europe with a list of European Union Countries. They'll need to change all that after Brexit! Each page is ruled with 33 lines but the one thing I'd like to have seen was a margin. I know you can rule one yourself, but it's just a nice touch. There is also a red fabric page marker which sticks out the bottom of the book for a few inches so all in all it's nicely presented and great quality.

I've been using hard bound Black n' Red notebooks since I was but a lad. They offer really great quality at a great price. This A4 book contains 96 sheets (192 sides) of lined medium thick paper. The paper is smooth to make writing or sketching easy and the thickness insures no 'see through' on the other side. With any 'book style' notebook the binding is going to be important. As has always been the case Black n' Red offer robustly binded paper to ensure no loose sheets. I often use these notebooks when doing cooking in the kitchen or DIY in the shed, so the hard back cover needs to be strong and 'wipe-able'. This certainly is.Included with this notebook is the customary red ribbon bookmark. Also there's a map of Europe, London tube map, National Rail Map, space for personal planning, time zones and other useful information. All in all there's a good reason Black n' Red have been around for so long. I will likely cintinue usung these notebooks for years to come.

Black n' Red stationery is usually pretty good quality, so I was expecting a nice, sturdy, well-made A4 notebook. But this Oxford RnB is a whole new ballgame. It looks almost the same on the outside - apart from the Oxford logo and the ittle, red, horizontal stripe across the middle of the cover. But inside is where you see the step-up in quality. The paper is beautiful - both the matte, black, inside cover and the semi-gloss, white, lined, 90gsm pages. Both are really lovely to the touch, especially the lined pages. They are almost too gorgeous to write on and you feel you need to be writing something important and meaningful - very, very neatly..As well as being beautiful quality, there is also a date planner on the inside cover, as well as a space for personal info and contacts - and on the back cover are a couple of maps - the world, a few timezones, and Europe as well. What more could you ask for in a hard covered notebook?

Black and Red are a stylish, good quality brand that I have used over the years in my home office here and for personal records. This well made, substantial A4 notebook is a pleasure to use. I like to write with a fountain pen so I am pleased that the ink does not bleed through the shiny, smooth, thick 90sg pages. The endpapers offer a date planner, room for notes, Key contacts list and personal details, at the front. Further inside there is a world map and clock to show times around the planet. Further useful info can de found by scanning the QR code or going to the black and red website. The 192 ruled pages are generously proportioned, with enough space for my extravagant handwriting to live happily. There is even a red ribbon, folding marking my place.Writing in a A4 book gives me room to move across the page. I enjoy using this notebook very much and am glad to have it on my shelf.

The black/red hardbound notebook is a daily tool for me. I use it to construct a paper copy of my day-to-day timetable, priority list, and phone log. I like the notebook as it lends flexibility to my note taking. This Notebook is thin and durable, professional in appearance. The paper was a tad thicker, enabling the user to write on both sides of the paper. I like the thickness of these pages and hardback covers. They are so easy to use in meetings and away from the office if your work is more peripatetic in nature. Please note that there are no perforations so that a part/page can be torn off easily.1. Quality writing surface 90gsm smooth paper (16.4 X 210 mm)2. Robustness, perfect for permanent records and archiving3. Professional looking – Ruled Note Book4. A4 Hardback Cover5. Strong binding with Ribbon MarkerRecommend this without hesitation.

The pages are lined, but have no margins.Inside the front cover is a small section of date planner, and there's a black inner page with spaces for some personal details, nine contact names/numbers, as well as a few notes. When I first opened the cardboard package and revealed the hard sturdy notebook inside, I felt a sudden flutter in my loins. As my member grow inside my underwear I knew just that moment that I had made the right choice in notebooks. I found myself stroking my member as I flicked through the perfectly formed pages, the thickness just right, the slight gloss and the beautiful black lines sitting proudly against the crisp white sheets. I could barely hold myself back, but I wouldn't allow myself to defile such a stunning notebook. Since using it I've discovered my libido has improved ten fold and I no longer rely on erectile dysfunction medication. So it's a 5 star rating from me.A hard back notebook that truly gets you hard.

I bought this notebook, because, as a lifetime fountain pen user, I was becoming increasingly frustrated with spiral bound tissue paper that our office was providing in lieu of professional notebooks. Once I got to the point where I could write on only one side of the paper due to bleed through, I had to take action.Black 'n' Red quality is legendary and justly earned. The paper is of fantastic quality, really bright, but not glossy. Fountain pen ink dries quickly, but with no bleed through. Although spiral binding is great for space saving and writing 'in hand', the case bound format has a pleasing solidity to it. If you think it looks expensive, believe me, you get what you pay for.

I bought this for my husband for a project. The paper is great and the notebook is lighter then you would think with a good weight paper. It did arrive with the corners a bit dog-eared but my other half didn't mind and went straight to work on it. He's been using it every day and toting it about and I see no deterioration or loosening of the binding. You could probably use it as a diary/journal if you put two days on each page with some left over. Down side: no margin, but the marker ribbon is a lovely shade of red. I personally prefer the texture of moleskine and filofax flex ranges. This notebook is up there with Clairefontaine and it is cheaper and easier to order.

This hardback notebook contains 192 pages of A4, making it thicker and heavier than a lot of notebooks - obviously this means it lasts longer, but could be an issue if you're carrying it around with you. The inside cover has a date planner, and the first page has sections for personal details, a few contacts, and on the other side there is a world map.The pages are ruled but without margins. There is a slim red ribbon bookmark. The paper is 90gsm but feels thinner. The notebook feels solidly made, and good quality, and doesn't feel like it will fall apart before it's full. The black cover and red spine look smart and are easy to keep clean.
