Leitz was founded in 1871 by Louis Leitz a German inventor, who in 1896 developed the lever arch file (the finger hole in the back was added in 1911). Leitz now produces a wonderful array of quality office supplies like hole punches, labelling, display folders, filing and laminating to name but a few.I have always found Leitz products to be well made and long lasting, so I was pleased when I had the chance to review a Leitz WOW A4 ruled notebook in metallic pink.The Leitz WOW A4 Ruled Notebook is quite a nice looking notepad. The notepad pages are A4, and the cover is slightly bigger at 30.4cm x 23cm x 2cm, this allows the cover to protect the notepad pages.The cover is attractive in a bright pink colour and made of strong flexible polypropylene.The outer covers are designed with very small horizontal ridges that stretch across the front and back cover. In certain lights especially artificial lighting you can see a slight metallic sheen which appears to be made up of hundreds of metallic flecks in either silver or gold (they are too small for my eyesight to differentiate between the two). Also the bottom third of both the front and back cover have a very modern circle design.The inside paper is approximately 80gsm in thickness which although not as good as 100gsm paper, it is of a fair quality as notepads go. I have written in fountain pen and roller ball and my writing does not show through onto the reverse of the paper.The Leitz WOW A4 Ruled Notepad is wirebound, each page is feint lined and hole punched. At the top of every page are title and date boxes which I have found very useful for journal writing, or for any writing where a date is needed. The attached removable 10" / 26cm ruler is great for underlining and can also be used as a bookmark, plus the pocket at the back of the book is perfect for keeping receipts and such like.I have been using my Leitz WOW A4 Ruled Notepad as a gardening journal, using one page for a week of gardening jobs, observations, planting and seed sowing as well listing any garden related purchases.These notepads come in 6 different colours, maybe I'll purchase one in a different colour for use as a "home journal" for decorating ideas and one for "recipe ideas". You could also stick in various pictures or articles cut out from magazines using a pritt stick.Although I feel the Leitz WOW A4 Ruled Notepad is a little on the expensive side, I actually do like these pads as they suit my needs perfectly.

Leitz Wow A4 Ruled Notebook - Metallic Pink is one notebook I am happy to recommend to other customers who do not mind paying for premium paper products. When I first received the notebook my first thought was that I could understand why this book costs so much more than ordinary A4 writing pads. This is not a book for taking down rough notes where you are going to be ripping pages out and dumping them in the nearest bin. This book is for writing those special things you want to keep forever, it is the perfect book for a journal or even for a present for someone who is starting college.First thing I do like about this is that the paper is FSC(Forest Stewardship Council)which stated the wood used to manufacture the paper is harvested from a certified forest, also means that the wood is not harvested illegally from a Rain Forest or any other forest which for me personally is very important.The paper is top quality and immediately the texture is as smooth as silk and I really do like writing on it with my fountain pen as the ink and pen just glides across the paper. The paper is lined but not the usual way which normal A4 pads are. The main margin has no lines, the lines actually begin at the right hand side of the margin. There is also a removable light plastic ruler which can be easily removed and 'hooked' back into the main page wire bound holder. At the back of the main book there is a see through plastic folder which is handy for loose papers or tickets etc. The main cover of the notebook is made of a wipe clean plastic cover, the front of the cover is coloured pink while the inside of the cover is pure white.In my opinion I cannot compare this quality notebook can be compared to cheaper A4 pads as the top quality manufacturing is very evident throughout this book, and for me it is worth the money. I recently reviewed another stationery product from Leitz, where I gave it a low score, and a rather scathing assessment. This was all to do with pricing. However, I have somewhat changed my mind on appraisal of this item.My review of 5 stars is upon judgement of quality, pure and simple. Paradoxically it is unlikely that I will buy it for regular personal use, (aside from a special treat perhaps) because I couldn’t afford such extravagance on my budget, but therein lies the main issue. If I had the money, and could easily afford it, would I buy it?....the answer is yes, I would.It is strange for me to think of an expendable stationery item as being of high quality,yet I can now see that the good things in life can extend to something as simple as a notebook. I often write with a fountain pen, which on cheaper paper does show through onto the other side. I have got used to that through sheer acceptance, but the quality of the paper is so good with this product, that there is no seepage through. The notebook has a comfortable weight, with a sturdy, firm but flexible outer cover. There is a natty lightweight ruler as an insert after the front cover, and a useful plastic insert at the rear, again of high quality. Whether I use the ruler seems immaterial – it just feels and looks nice. Margins on the paper are wide, and the perforations are strong, so pages can not be easily broken. Basically, it is just good and satisfying to hold.After a few weeks use, I have grown quite attached to it, and appreciated the high quality. If someone is known to appreciate quality in such a product, it would also make a simple gift for someone, which seems strange for such an everyday item. I have concluded with the old adage, that you pay for what you get, so therefore, unusually for me, a recommended product with 5 stars.

This Leitz notebook is described as metallic pink. I’m not really sure where the metallic element comes in but it is definitely pink - almost cerise. The front has that slight ridged effect which creates an unusual sound if you run your fingernail down the cover. There are some pretty wave and bubble shapes at the bottom of the front and back covers.The notebook is spiral bound, A4 (the cover a touch bigger so your page edges are protected) and comes with approximately 80gsm, lined paper inside. There is a margin which holds the four punched holes so you don’t have to dodge the holes with your writing on either the front or back sides of the page.At the top of the page there is a box for a heading or title and then a space to input a date at the side. Each page is also perforated on the side so you can easily rip it out. There’s even a small notch at the top of the perforation so that you’re unlikely to rip off half the page when trying to pull it out!At the back of the notebook there’s a plastic pocket to keep any loose papers with your notes. There’s also a handy ruler that can hold your place (it’s removable) or to use as (unsurprisingly) a ruler.Like many others, I feel hat the price of this notebook is a little high for my personal tastes. It’s a good quality notebook and does look fab but, to be honest, I would be unlikely to buy many more of them at a cost of £12 each. However, I suppose it may help me not be so wasteful with my note taking!Price aside, this is a really nice notebook. It’s a pretty colour, has a nice design and I like the design on the pages as well as the ruler and pocket at the back. If you love your stationery as much as I do then this is a notebook well worth having and one that you’ll happily show off. 4 stars.

A top quality product at a price to match.If my limited German stands me in good stead, this is intended for school or university students. It is slightly different than other pull-sheet pads where a page can be torn out and filed using its pre-punched holes in that it is wirebound and pre-punched with standard Euro spacing. The micro-perforations allow the torn out sheets to appear clean-cut.The line spacing is medium and there is a defined writing area with margins of approx.15mm to the right of the perforations and top and bottom and slightly more where the punched holes are located. There are defined 'title'and date areas to use where such data may be important.The covers are semi-rigid and there is a useful filing section at the rear for used sheets or other material. A see-through and non-removable plastic ruler is incorporated but it only covers 10-inches and 26cm so is not quite standard sized. The pads are non-refillable and the covers are white internally, irrespective of the outer tone. The 'metallic pink' in this example is more red than pink.The product is expensive and does not offer best value. Although originally used mostly with ballpoints, occasionally a gel pen, it has since been used with a couple of fountain pens, one with a fine nib and another medium-broad and both result in a considerable amount of bleed-through to the other side. If something should be crossed-out, there will be some bleed onto the sheet below. Consequently, the notebook is not recommended with fountain pen ink as only one side of the paper is then usable.

Immediately, is this pad worth the price? Well, that depends on what you're going to use it for... This is NOT a pad for use in taking general notes or messages, to use it for that or scribbles of daily notes, even lecture notes is a huge waste, and it is not worth it for that use.But that is not what the pad is for!!!! THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PAD FOR USE AS A PROJECT BOOK! Use this for a project, or even a hand written dissertation!Using it for a hand written project is going to be the reason for this pad, each page has a header, footer and a date field. For such a use this pad is excellent, the pages are neat, if you make a mistake you can remove the in correct page well,and the texture of the paper is good.The paper takes pencil and ink well, however, being 80gsm you have to take care when using felt/strong colour inks, it would be best in that case to place a few sheets of scrap paper between the pages to stop ink bleeding between the two. But I have to say ink bleeding through was not common.The ruler included is a little naff, but hey ho, it's just flimsy plastic.The rear cover also has a pouch for additional information.THIS IS THE PERFECT PAD FOR A PROJECT OR DISSERTATION, it is not for general use!The biggest problem - and the one I'm going to remove a star for - is that using this for a project you can't print out graphs or pictures and easily insert them, because of the spiral binding, one has to punch the spiral binding patter, or stick (with tape/glue) pictures into the pages rather than them be printed and inserted properly.

I’m a big fan of Leitz notebooks and just as happy with this one. The first thing you notice is the striking pink plastic ribbed cover with spot design at the bottom (personally I wouldn’t say this is metallic pink at all – just bright pink with a tiny bit of shimmer). On opening you’ve got a removable opaque plastic ruler with 10 inch / 26 cm measurements which can also be used as a page marker. Each of the 80 pages of the notebook is a decent thickness – you can see through each page but only slightly. Pages are perforated so they can be ripped out neatly with 4 punch holes if you then want to put them in a binder.I like that each page has a section at the top for a title followed by the date with a noticeable space before the 32 lines.The only downside I can find to this compared to a usual lined notepad is you don’t have the lined margin which I would normally write in but rather a blank space border around the page. Comparing it with a normal lined A4 page you’re only losing a few mm in terms of a full line at the end.Leitz have also provided a clear pocket at the back for any additional pieces of paper etc. you may need. Only thing I would have liked is something to hold it closed as even the covers have quite a bit of movement due to the spiral binding.Overall I am going to find this very handy for writing notes for studying where I would prefer to keep the pages bound and refer to often whereas they would have to be ripped out of a normal A4 pad.

This is a high quality notebook, consistent with the price being charged.There is a lot to like about this notebook, not least its FSC environmental credentials.The cover is a bright pink colour consistent with the image on the website, it has microgrooves running across it and most importantly the cover is thick which adds a rigidity to the notebook.I personally like notebooks such as this that can be used to manage multiple projects. The ruling allows for a title to the page, date and then content. The page when back in the office can be torn out and scanned or filed as part of a project. The paper is 4 hole punched to support this.The paper is bright white,smooth and at 80gsm is thick enough to prevent read through.There is a useful ruler which clicks in to the comb and a plastic wallet at the back.So there is a lot to like about this premium notebook.However there are some downsides.The white plastic wire comb binding arrived with one of the loops bent back, a quick twist and it was fixed but I do tend to find this metal comb to be fiddly, hence the loss of one star.Whilst others have commented on the price good notepads are not cheap, I tend to use Moleskine and Red and Black and the price compares well with these.So if you love pink, are looking for a project notebook, and appreciate high quality stationary then this is worthy of serious consideration.

This is an 80-sheet notepad of spiral-binded lined paper. Each side has faint grey lines on for writing in straight lines, with a separate section at the top to write in a title and a date. The sheets are all detachable from the binder thanks to perforated edges. Each sheet has been hole punched with 4 holes and the thickness of the sheets is standard. The paper is also FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified meaning the paper is coming from managed forests and not from deforestation of the Amazon or something.As well as the paper also enclosed is a 10 inch/26 cm ruler attached to the wire binder so that it can be carried with the notepad wherever you go without falling out.However it is easy to remove when you need to use it, if indeed you do need to. It can double up as a bookmark too. It is a little flexible though so not ideal for drawing lines with.Then there is a plastic sleeve at the back for storing papers. This is quite tight although there is risk of these falling out when on the move so be aware.The front and back cover are vivid pink with a nice embossed pattern on them. The colour means it is most suitable for girls but other colours are available (ice blue, metallic blue, metallic green, metallic orange, purple) if a problem.Overall a nice product that is on the way to being an accessible executive notebook.

I keep a day book - for daily notes, to do lists and so on, and this notebook is perfect for that. It has a bright pink cover, which is flexible and each page has a space for a header and date. The pages can be torn out along a perforation and are hole punched for an A4 4 ring binder.For me, paper quality is important because I write with a fountain pen and I've not had problems with this seeping through to the next page. I presume much of the price is down is down to the paper quality - I wondered if it were acid free but that isn't one of the claims. The specification says 'It contains 80 sheets of ruled, high quality, FSC certified paper,' which stands for Forest Stewardship Council,and looking at their website they say 'When you see this logo, you can be confident that buying it won't mean harming the world's forests.'Pros- Decent quality paper that is FSC certified- Good for note taking in preparation for filing- 'Pocket for temporary storage of loose documents and ruler which can be used as a bookmark'Cons- Pricey- No elastic fastener to keep the file closed29/7/2017 I like these notebooks o much I have now bought them in every colour so I can quickly reach for the colour that matches that project. What stops this attractive, generally well-made notebook from getting five stars is the disparity between quality and price.The paper weight for this is 80gsm, a very similar Black and Red A4 wire-bound, plastic covered notebook at 90gsm (and therefore thicker and heavier) is currently available at a lower price.Unlike Black and Red however, this cover is a strong, bright deep pink, and Leitz have no doubt smartly angled this notebook at the legion of people with a passion for all items pink. The polythene cover is slightly textured, which makes it easier to hold when balanced on a pile of books.There's a separate plastic document folder attached the inside back cover, useful for safe storage loose sheets.There's a thin plastic 30cm ruler which attaches to the wire rings of the binder, possibly a little less useful as this book is already lined - and many people may prefer to use a sturdier ruler.Two practical features of the pages are that they are perforated, so can easily be removed, and also that each page has a clearly marked space for the date at the top.At £12 it's not a notebook for making rough notes, but would make a great project book, or a very nice gift for the student who has to have pink.

The first thing that sprung to mind when I got this notebook was the size. It just seems bigger than the stated A4 size (I've checked - it's not) and is a little bulky to carry between meetings. There are some useful little extras, such as the ruler and the plastic wallet, but these hardly qualify the price. What I did appreciate was the handy little section on the top row of each page where you can scribble down the date. There isn't much more I can add. The paper is of an OK quality (hardly plush but not scratchy cheap stuff) and I like the girly pink front cover; although I would argue using the term "metallic" to describe it. The cover is also flexible and fairly sturdy,plus the added design at the bottom is pretty, but so understated that when I noticed the slight embossment I initially thought there was a defect on the cover. A reasonable notebook, but a little too inconvenient to use if you attend a lot of meetings (I much prefer the A5 size) and it's hardly of an exceptional quality to justify the cost. I can only imagine that these pages were manufactured from parts of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Declaration of Independence and a first edition Superman comic book.

A number of reviewers have said they would use this for a specific purpose rather than just using it for notes or jottings. It is certainly too good to just scribble things into it. I must agree that it will make an excellent project book or for use at conferences allowing a series of events to be written up. I could see myself using it for a first draft of a novel as it is well bound and you do not need to remove the pages even though they are perforated.The outer cover is quite thick and sturdy so should provide good protection. The paper is 80gm and feint lined with a title/heading box at the top of each sheet.There is also a box for the date on the top right hand side of each page/side.There is a plastic wallet at the back of the book in which you can place loose items temporarily. The ruler is the full height of the notebook and shows both inches and centimetres.This is an expensive item and should be put to the best use rather than used for rough notes and pages just ripped out.I have seen books very similar to this in high street stationery stores and they are likewise expensive.

Overall quality is what you get for the price, as well as a Fuschia pink cover (thinly raised striped with a smooth bubble effect at the bottom), this A4 ring bound 80 page notebook (80 g/m2) includes a 10" (26cm) flexible ruler which is detachable from the rings and so can be used as a marker as well as for underlining etc.The pages themselves have standard 4 holes punched to the left and are perferated so can be detached rather than ripped from the rings. With a gap at the top, this process is very straight forward and every page (I tried!) removes without tearing or ripping.Top of the page (all lines are standard feint grey) is a header box and date format box dd/mm/yy and a left margin just shy of 2cm,right a mm over 1cm. 32 lines per page (both sides) giving 160 surface.The inside covers both front and back are a plastic coated white and are strong with a little flex, good for protecting the pad itself. No closure device but worst case a rubber band could be used as the covers are strong enough to resist pulling.Very good quality, get what you pay for in a long term use product.

I picked this up because I get through a lot of A4 notepads in my day job and am always looking for good quality ones.This is a hardback cover notebook with an attractive laminate purple cover with a circular design. The notepad also comes in white, orange, lime green, pink, blue and ice blue. There are 80 pages (or 160 sides) and the pages are ruled but note that the ruled lines are framed within each page and do not run from edge to edge. There's also a header box with space for a title and date, which does make it easier to organise notes but also cuts down on the amount of space you have to write in.The paper quality is good - I use rollerballs generally and there wasn't any leakage throughthe paper and the ivory white colour means that most ink colours show up on it.My only real criticism is that it's quite expensive for what it is - there are other providers out there doing decent quality pads for a quarter of what this costs. As such, I can't say that I would rush to buy one on that basis but your needs may be different.
