What can I say, yet another high quality product as you've come to expect from Black n' Red. As a teacher I seem to have a bit of a 'thing' about stationery in general, but there's something particularly special about Black n' Red products, to the extent that I sometimes avoid actually using the products I have as they're too special and I want to save them! (Sad I know!). This journal is no exception. The leather effect cover is tactile and professional without being cumbersome. This journal is practical with helpful features like page numbers and a space for a date at the top of every page, but I particularly like the wallet space at the back, for everything from scraps of notes,

I was looking for a nice hard back notebook for my university lab notes that I could use on the move and I have tried other brands such as Collins, leuchtturm 1917, Moleskine and Rhodia Webnote books either these have been too pricey or the has just been of too low quality for the price.However I have been really impressed with this book over the last few weeks of labs the paper in this book is thick (90gsm) and very smooth so there is no show through or bleed through even when using a fountain pen.There are some other useful features such as;-Each page has space for a date entry.-A set of margins Ideal for timings.-Page numbers as well as contents page at the front that allows you to reference

I ought to start off this review by admitting that I love notebooks.Right having made that admission, this is an excellent notebook and has a new fresh look compared to some older Bland and Red Notebooks.The things I really like areIt is very well madeThere is an elastic band in red, to keep the notebook closed when in a bag etc.The matt black colour is pleasant to touchThere is a page for contentsEach page has a date for entries and a page number making the content page very usefulThe paper is very bright, using Black and Reds Optik Paper (However I am concerned that these optical whiteners are not very environmentally friendlyThere is a red ribbon to mark pagesThere is a pocket in the inside back cover.There can be little doubt that there is a notebook war brewing,

I received my A4 Journal the other day and haven't yet used and abused it to extremes! However, the quality and feel of the journal are beautiful. The pages with space for dates are perfect for lecture notes and the paper quality is great. I also like the folder at the back of the book for odd bits and pieces. The binding appears strong and the overall journal is very well presented. Hardback means all my notes should remain a fairly legible and ordered!I would quite like this journal to have more pages in it especially as the price makes it an investment (but a very good one).Since writing this review, I have bought another one of these books. It keeps all my notes organised,

I fell in love with Black n Red notebooks many years ago whilst working as an administor. I was in charge of all the office supplies and they used to order them for the engineering managers.I of course manage to obtain a few ;) and have been using them ever since.The quality of the paper is brilliant, it is nice and thick, i mainly buy A4 size, but this came up on a lightning deal and i thought i would try it out.I really love it, the cover is soft to the touch, almost like moleskin, the elastic is a nice touch.There is an expandable pocket on the inside back cover and every page has got space for the date in the top left corner and in the top right corner of every page are page numbers.I

This book is superb, the quality of the paper makes writing a pleasure. The hard cover is easy to keep clean and certainly gives a great impression to others.. There is even a handy pocket inside the rear cover , great for keeping little notes before writing them up properly. Or even keeping handouts or receipts, a very useful addition to this book. Being A4 makes this a great size, not just for notes but also as a journal with more than enough writing space, even got a page divider so you can go straight to your last page.Overall a superior quality both inside and out. Great for students, office staff, managers and more.

I use several of these notebooks for my University work- as a lab book for my PhD research, as a methods book, and for notes and paper research. They are strong, durable-even to chemical spills, the paper is thick, smooth and neat meaning my lab book looks presentable and doesn't wear out after a couple of months thumbing through it!the paper is nice and thick so I can write on both sides in biro but also ethanol based lab pens and it still looks neat. I have several lab books as these notebooks as they are durable so I can make sure my PhD notes are safe. I will continue to buy them in the future for uni!

I've tried lots of different notebooks including Moleskine and Leuchtturm1917 and these hit the perfect combination of price (at time of purchase aprox £10) and quality. The notebook feels excellent, the paper is good quality and responds to my fountain pens really well, and there's plenty of pages. The cover marks a little easily, and it's exactly A4 size rather than the oversize versions some other brands offer, but at less than half the price of the equivalent moleskine and with better paper, I know which I'd prefer.

I am so happy to see all the wonderful rave reviews....but no mention of the incredible quotes thrown in like diamonds as a totally unexpected gift with this silky paged top of the range hard backed notebook. How incredibley exciting of you to do that...from Isaac Newton to dear St. Francis. I needed a book for my lab notes for uni.This book tickets all the boxes, it has mumbled pages and a margin space for dates as well as space in the front for contents.The band that holds the covers shut is secure and the back pocket is so handy for all the 'extra' papers.The cover itself is a nice quality matte black and very sturdy. The pages are nice and bright and are a joy to write on.Definitely buying again, will certainly recommend to others.

This journal is really good for professional or personal purposes. It has a fancy hard cover that is really good to touch. The paper is of good quality, however the ink of a fountain pen will take a bit to get dry on that paper. With rollerball pens the papers is perfect. The only drawback is the number of pages ... only 142 pages.In summary this is a really good looking, high quality product but to be used only with rollerball pens.

Brilliant! I swapped to this notebook for university ahvi g previously used an A4 moleskine, this is by far a superior notebook! The pages are significantly thicker, and the pure white Vs a more cream tone makes text much more legible. I also really like the layout of the book with pre-done date windows, as well as pages already numbered. Moreover, I can use my fountain pen without it seeping through! Perfect!

I would never have taken it serious if anyone told me I would one day write a review about a journal/ notebook.This one is beyond a product, it’s an experience that makes you write even more carefully and improves every aspect of what you intend to use it for.This is officially my only go to for the foreseeable future.

Bought this for work as a page a day diary never really worked (either too much or too little per day). This works a treat. There is a place to put the date, a page marker and elastic to keep it neat and tidy. Even with 144 pages it’s not very thick, so next time i’ll look to see if there is one with more pages.

I did not expect this to be the best quality but maybe just good enough to do rough notes, but this is a very good quality notebook, with numbered pages and date print, with a folder/envelope in the back to stash loose pages. None of that cheap thin paper here......overall a very good quality notepad.
