Otterbox products have provided superb quality protection for mobile telephones, portable digital assistants and more recently smartphones for the past 20 years. Many of my friends have used them to great success to protect their digital devices during hazardous activities such as mountain biking, without a problem. As expected from the title of this product, it is rugged but also superbly constructed. Two precision made pieces of hard plastic clip either side of the iPhone X, which are then held into place by a silicone bumper. There are multiple layers of shock absorption built into this case, from the outer bumper to the soft material that sits behind the rear of the iPhone.I am not sure whether you would call it stylish. It has the utilitarian look of a Casio G-shock watch that was so popular amongst the military. The engineers from Otterbox are confident that the bevels that surround the iPhone X when in use are sufficient to protect the phone without the need for an additional screen protection glass. My iPhone X already has a screen protector fitted so I left it in place and there were no problems fitting the Otterbox case around it.The port protectors work well – if working in a dusty environment, it does make sense to keep these clean. My iPhone is charged at night using a Belkin Wireless charging stand. This worked perfectly. In daily use, the Defender case fits neatly into the hand. It has far better grip than a plain iPhone and better than any other case I have used so far with my phone. The buttons operate easily, whilst the Face ID and camera operation is unaffected.I also found the polycarbonate holster surprisingly useful. The clip is useful when attaching the iPhone to a trouser belt. I also found it very useful when working out at the gym, clipping it to the side of my shorts. The clip can be rotated into any of 12 positions! In practice, I found it worked best in portrait mode when attached to my trousers. However, if I put it to landscape mode and clicked it fully open, it made a great kickstand: ideal for watching NetflixThe case does add some weight to the 174 g iPhone X, hitting the scales at 256 g, or 318 g if the holster is also used. However, my wife’s iPhone X in its standard bumper case weighs 242 g so there is not too much difference.Overall I am very impressed with this case. I feel confident that it give effective lifetime protection to my iPhone X, allowing me to use it without worrying about the occasional drops and ensuring it is tip-top condition when it comes time to trade in for a newer model.

Originally I bought the folio wallet style case from Otterbox which has a leather flip cover for the screen. It didn't suit me and when it started to delaminate I returned it and bought this case. The wallet case has a rubber/silicone tub into which the phone fits. This case has a hard shell with a plastic clear side to protect the screen. This snaps around the phone and then this assembly is fitted to a silicone protector that covers the back and sides. The result is a phone that is now half an inch longer and wider with a quarter of an inch of rubber at each end so you you can throw your phone at the floor! It makes the phone much larger than even the flip case and much thicker than the thinnest Otterbox cover they do without the flip cover. That said,it makes it very easy to control when your hands are wet, cold, or in gloves. The phone stays where you put it due to the high friction of the otter rubber case. That's very handy in the car where most phones go flying when you corner.Should you wish, there is another case into which you can snap the phone which as hard plastic corners and a belt clip. This allows you to have the phone on your belt. There is some suggestion this clip allows the phone case to be used as a stand but I'm not sure how that works. It is note worthy that the screen sensitivity is reduced working through the clear plastic side of it but not so bad as to be troublesome. There is some distortion in the optical quality of the plastic but video and photos are just fine. it's a trade off for protection that I am prepared to accept.I do have the cable less charging stand and that works just fine with the phone in its case. This is important since the case has covers for the ports and it isn't the type of case one should be opening and removing the phone on a daily basis. All in all this is a very good, high quality, rugged case for your phone. Since my boss made me responsible for replacing the phone should I break it I wouldn't use anything else.I also got it at a good price on Amazon compared with high street phone shops where it is generally over priced as a "premium" product.I recommend this case.

The Otterbox Defender is to phone protection what the Abrams was to the battle tank world - just about the best! The case is rugged and tough-looking and should take whatever punishment is thrown at it as apparently it has been drop-tested to military standards. The 'case' is made up of four pieces: firstly, the holster which is slightly bigger than the phone case. The case slides in and clicks into a locked position; the phone can either face outwards or inwards towards the body and is attached to the belt by a strong clip which is able to rotate 360 degrees; but which also can be re-positioned to act as a stand for the phone should one which to stream a film etc..By pressing the clip at the side of the holster one can remove the phone and case, the outer layer of the latter is made of rugged rubber with interior padding for the back of the phone; designated areas on the the rubber sides allows all the buttons on the phone itself to work easily and efficiently. There is another case inside which is poly-carbonate as is the separate frame of the same material which snugly fits around the screen with your chosen screen protector (if tempered glass, ensure the one you purchase is compatible.) There is a small screen on the back which protects and allows the Apple logo to be seen. The sides of the case are textured to ensure it allows it to be firmly gripped.Despite its rugged looks the the Defender case allows a wireless charger to be used.Otterbox has supplied a well-thought-out case which is reasonably priced for what one gets and will no doubt provide the ultimate protection for the iPhone X.Got to be 5 stars!

The case consists of 3 main parts, the back which is solid plastic, the front which is solid plastic with a softer screen protector and a soft case. The soft case wraps around the other pieces which provides protection from drops and also helps to repel any water. The rubber lugs on the soft shell protect the sockets on the phone from dust/debris/water. Unlike on other cases I have had in the past where the lugs break after a week these are very rugged and built to last. The case is easy to put on/take off (as long as you have nails) and it does provide great protection from the elements. This has been used whilst camping and hiking around the south coast over the winter period and it stood up to the worst the UK weather could throw at it.A major bonus of this case is that once the case is on you do not lose any of the functionality of the phone, the touch screen is just as responsive and the fingerprint recognition still works. The camera is unobstructed and sound quality remains the same.Since I started using the case it has been tested hard (unintentionally) as I have said the case has stood up to the weather; It has also been dropped on numerous occasions, most times from height onto hard flooring (concrete/stone) with no effect, the phone is still like brand new.All in all this is a great product, £23 to protect a £450 phone is great value in my book. Without a doubt I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to protect their IPhone.

OtterBox have a rep as being one of the most safe and secure device case brands out there. This case is no exception. Fitting the iPhone 6+ snuggly, (even when fitted with a glass screen protector) all features of the phone are still fully accessible; even the fingerprint reader.Inserting the phone into the case is a two step procedure; crack the inner plastic case apart, then snap it back together around the phone, then apply the rubber exterior case which holds it all together and provide drop protection etc.the inner plastic case does seem flimsy at first but once its coupled with the rubber outer the case feels secure and strong without adding a huge amount of weight and bulk to the phone. This case isn't waterproof!its splash proof but that's about it. rubber flaps allow access to all the major ports on the phone and the nature of the beast is that it wont be waterproof with that type of access.but if youre out and about, shooting or fishing or in the woods etc then this case will probably suffice most knocks and bangs and splashes etc

I’ve used Otterboxes for years, and they’ve always been outstanding. The case itself is well protected and the rubber shock absorb on the inside is a fantastic addition. It adds a bit of bulk to the phone, but not much. The clip holder is a very useful addition for using in the car - but the clip itself can be cumbersome. Is it meant for a belt? It’s hard to know it’s intended purpose.I understand the lack of screen protector, as they can dull the function of the phone and generally be a pain, but for the price this costs, it would have been nice to include one that you can choose not to have. I always have at least something on my screen - normally a glass protector - and I find I crack them and replace them almost monthly, but at least that cracks first and not the phone screen itself.I feel like they may have changed their manufacturer? Same quality designs and engineering, but cheaper outsourcing of people doing it. Just in the small problems that keep cropping up that never, ever happened before.

OK so this case is very, very expensive, so much so that I nearly used an offering from a cheaper competitor.I'm glad I didn't. As usual this is a very well built case with protection in all the right places, a very good fit and a piece of mind that an expensive investment will not be destroyed the first time it falls out of a pocket.I've always had a defender for previous phones and they've survived falls of up to 10m, proving these cases really do work.My only niggle is that there is no built in screen protection as with previous defender cases. Whilst I understand this is probably due to the difficult screen design, I would've thought Otterbox would have come up with something.Nevertheless if you have a note 8 and work outside most of the day like I do,this is the case for you.Fit : almost perfect, little movement round power keyProtection : again, almost perfect unless you were to drop directly onto the screenPrice : as with everything you get what you pay for

This has been my first Otterbox phone case and I have been impressed by it. I like the high quality materials and nice feel to it, plus the simple good looks. It fits my Samsung Galaxy S10 perfectly (as you would expect) and all buttons remain accessible and easy to use. The covers for the connectors are easily lifted out of the way too. It doesn’t come with a standard screen protector and instead it has a tough plastic shell with belt clip attachment which can be placed with the phone screen facing into the cover. It is a secure fit and should offer a lot of protection to the phone in the event it falls or is struck. I like that the belt clip can be rotated to suit, and also turned into a stand for the phone. The main case can be used alone when you need to save space; that’s a good thing since it feels quite bulky when I have the holster fitted. However, for those times when I’m out being active then the full set is fitted as I know it will keep my mobile safe.

The last smart phone I had got broken (even though it was protected) so I thought I'd invest in a decent case this time. A mate of mine is a landscape gardener and I thought his Otterbox looked a bit cool so I decided to do a bit of research with a view to buying my own. Most reviews were positive and the ones which weren't seemed to be written by people whose expectations were a little too high. They were expecting a fully waterproof and dustproof case. Which naturally this isn't. I shopped around and decided on the Defender as I work onsite and a number of people were saying good things about it. I'm certainly not disappointed. It's a good solid case which still allows the phone to function fully. There's a hole for audio, speaker and camera. Yes it makes everything more bulky which ups the pain in the bum factor of owning a smart phone but let's face it, it's becoming more difficult to live without them.

This is case is phenomenal, amazing protection, excellent grip, although most people don't like bulky cases. I do like them, without a case on the your iPhone especially IPhone 6. It makes it really easy to drop and smash but with this case, it's a whole different story. I didn't rate this a five star because of the screen protector, the screen protector is good and gives extra protection for your screen but I've found out, there's a small gap between the phone and the actual screen protector which is a bit iffy and it makes typing a bit longer which is a bit annoying. Also the charging port, it doesn't suit 3rd dimensional chargers which I was very concerned with, luckily,I had a spare charger so I didn't have to buy another one. The two lines between the flap of the charging port only allows normal apple chargers but not 3rd dimensional cables, other than that. The case is flawless in my opinion.

I had one these for 18 months before it got a bit shabby. So I decided to purchase a new one. I compared this with my old one and they are identical. Even the packaging is the same. I brought my first one directly from Otterbox so I believe this is a genuine product. It fits my Samsung S6 nice and snug. I've tried it on my wireless charger and the mobile charges perfectly. The ports are all accessible and the camera lens are not covered. I experienced no problems with my last cover it protected my mobile well. Every month I would dismantle and give everything a good clean. The only real issue I experienced is the screen cover has a hole for the home button. Sometimes dust gets through the hole and under the screen protector. This was never a big issue for me but maybe so if you work in a high dust area. I would highly recommend this case if you need protection for your mobile phone.

The otter box defender is a great buy if you’re looking for a case that will protect your iPhone 8 from knocks and scrapes. It’s sturdy, the inbuilt protective touchscreen is surprisingly useful and the clip/kickstand works well to prop the phone up to watch videos. I’m very impressed with the quality for the price. Couldn’t be more pleased with it. Perhaps the only thing that it lacks is a card slot but I can’t think where they could stow it on the frame. I’m very happy with the purchase. I only wish I’d bought it before the slightly flimsy protective case and screen shield I had on previously had allowed tiny cosmetic scratches on the phone chassis when the case fell off a magnetic clip and span for ten yards across tarmac on a garage forecourt.Although they mostly did the job, I feel the tarmac would have come off worse if this had hit it! Confidence inspiring.

Now on my second Otterbox Defender case, having the previous one for 5 years on an Samsung S4. After all that time phone still looks brand new.Bit different this time not having a built-in screen protector, but does make the screen a lot clearer. Also probably because of design and material advances the new case is a lot thinner, but still allowing for the best protection.Easy to fit and use all buttons, whilst allowing wireless fast charging with the case fitted. As before the belt holster clip adds a lot to the thickness to the case but not a lot of functionality for me.Overall well pleased with this product and would recommend to anyone wanting the ultimate protection for their phones. On the purchasing side always buy from a reputable seller,as there are a lot of fakes that look the part. That is until you have them side by side or you drop your phone!!

This does add bit more bulk to your iPhone 6 Plus, especially if you have it in your jeans pocket. This gives the impression that your happy to see people or worse still, compensating for something else!Apart from those psychological and physiological issues, it does a good job of protecting your iPhone 6 + from any scratch, breakages and falls.Apart from the bulk, I had to do a bit of a mod on this case when I first brought it, I removed the inbuilt screen protector as I had already installed a tempered glass screen protector on the iPhone.Even if I had left the inbuilt screen protector in the case, fluff and other particles would still get in. But this seem to be true of many other similar casesWith the inbuilt screen protector removed, the otter box case is still rigid and solid. This is like the hummer of phone case protectors

I have tried several cases for my Samsung S7 Edge. I avoided this case due to the reviews which indicated bulkiness. I tried several other cases and most had the same issue, any screen protector that I applied lifted off with the other cases. I tried beetle unicorn and thought I was happy with it, until I dropped it from knee level whilst sitting, the screen was damaged... It cost me 300 GBP to replace the edge screen from Samsung so I decided to try the OtterBox defender. I regret not getting one from the start, great case, slimmer than I thought, good holder, great screen protection, all around very good case and the best protection of any of the previous cases and to my surprise, the edge works perfectly with this case. Highly recommended. Also, it works with my wireless charger.
