Bought this for a 3.5 year old as I thought that the irregular shape would confuse her for a while and make her think a bit.She got it sussed immediately! Only 25 pieces make it too easy - my mistake for not checking properly. Liked the Man doing the hoovering! I think the real merit of the puzzle is in the pictures. Lots to talk about - straight learning eg colours, names of furniture, parts of house, etc. Also, good for lots of discussions - what happens in this room - cooking, sleeping, etc? Is there anything you like best and/or anything you do not like that happens in a room? What is your favourite room in the house? What would you like to add or change in a room, etc.

My children, now 3 and 6 years old, love this puzzle. This is the second copy we have bought of it. They have been doing this puzzle nearly every day for over a year now. They lost some pieces from the first copy (who knows where - mysterious, like the single sock that goes missing in the washing machine) so I just had to purchase it again for them (they would still do it with pieces missing).Very educational, first in building their 'motor' skills and then finding and recognising items from the picture when asked to find them (even more useful for the 3 year old who has been doing this for nearly a year now (he was a slow walker and a slow talker so this really brought him on).The pieces are nice and thick (robust)

I like orchard products, they are always made of really sturdy card and are bright and colourful. I also like the fact there is an educational guide on the back so that you can make the most of the time you spend doing the jigsaw with your child.The reason I give this jigsaw 4 stars instead of 5 is that (at the time of purchase) the jigsaw supplied does not match the picture amazon have. I bought from amazon and not a third party seller so expected to receive the exact item I ordered.Saying that, the jigsaw is still nice and the same Orchard quality. I have included a picture so people can see what they may receive.

A fantastic jigsaw puzzle. We love the Orchard Toys jigsaw puzzles (we being myself and my two year old daughter) - the pieces are of great quality and the pictures on them are always excellent, well drawn, beautifully coloured and with some great little details. This jigsaw is also an unusual shape, which makes it even more of challenge for little ones. The household pictured does make me smile though - several women of different ethnicities and not a man in sight! I am hoping that this was simply the whim of the artist and not some deliberate subliminal message to children that households do not necessarily consist of Mum, Dad and two kids.

We must have bought dozens of Orchard Toys games and puzzles - we keep buying them because they are all such good quality, and the games are engaging.A lot of jigsaws are made of thin card, which makes them difficult to put together, especially if not in a completely flat surface. Puzzles like that bend and tear easily, and the image layer peels off easily.None of that here - this 50-piece puzzle is made of good quality, thick card. It's hard-wearing, and easy to put together, even if doing it on a carpet.Some of our Orchard Toys jigsaws must have been put together hundreds of times, and all are like brand new. I'm confident this one will be the same.Highly recommend this,

I bought this for my 3 year old and she loved the picture etc. All Orchard puzzles and games are fab in my opinion.Bright, colourful and captivating.The only problem I have with the jigsaws I have bought from Orchard is that the main picture on the box that the child follows in order to put together the puzzle always has a logo/text over the bottom right hand corner which means you can't tell the child what piece to look for as you can't even see yourself unless you refer to one of the smaller images around the box where the picture is not covered.Only a minor issue but it is a bit annoying - eventually though I know my little girl will get so good at the puzzle,

We are big fans of Orchard Toys, this is our first of their jigsaws and it didn't disappoint. It was a Christmas present for my four year old son and we first put it together on Christmas Day. He did very well with it, not too easy, not too hard. It has a lovely finish, each piece feels sturdy and strong, just as you'd expect from Orchard Toys. When we completed the jigsaw we discussed it and made up stories from the picture then played a bit of eye spy, spotting various things within the picture so it was a great versatile activity which kept him occupied for a good length of time. I would highly recommend and will definitely look out for more Jigsaws from Orchard Toys.

I was very pleased with this puzzle and its a favourite with my 2 1/2 year old grand-daughter. The pieces are large and easy for little fingers to pick up and all different shapes. Its colourful and there is so much detail in each individual room of the dolls house, which can lead to questions like "how many clocks are there in the house" or "which animal is lying on the bed". So it is excellent from an educational point of view encouraging observation, counting, colours etc. My only criticism is that it is not quite as durable as I would like, some of the paper is beginning to come away from the cardboard backing. However, this may be because it gets a lot of use.

My 4yo daughter has had this puzzle for 4 days now and it has been put together at least 20 times. She loves the subject and always asks to do the 'questions' on the box once the puzzle is completed. The questions are hints and ideas for extending play once the puzzle is finished, for example, how many oranges can you see in the picture?, why do you think there is a frog near the wizard?, etc.The puzzle pieces are well made and quite thick compared with other well known makes and I believe they will last much longer and retain the looks better.I will definitely be buying more Orchard Toys puzzles and games.

This is another brilliant purchase from Orchard Toys. I bought it for my daughter for her 3rd birthday and she loves it and can do it all by herself by looking at the colours and the familiar items in the pictures. We've gone through so many puzzles, most of which are cheaply made, bend and are dull in colour, but I've found all of Orchard toys' jigsaw puzzles to be the best quality. They don't bend, they're bright and interesting to look at and my daughter and I have fun playing "eye spy" with it after she has done it all. We're building up quite a collection of them now! Definitely recommend them.

Excellent jigsaw, really impressed with the quality.We bought this for our 3 year old who has completed it three times, with help. We've all enjoyed looking at all of the small, fun, diverse details in the picture.It's larger than expected but still suitable to use on a table top. The fact that there is a different feature on most, if not all, pieces (person/animal) makes it easy to follow the picture on the box if she gets stuck. I think by 4 years old she would be able to do this unaided and expect to have enjoyment from it for a few years.

This was bought initially for my 4 year old daughter who adored this puzzle and mastered it quickly. My 2 year old son has now become very interested in puzzles and is able to put this together quickly. It is well made and chunky pieces don't bend or split. Lovely vibrant colours help to build the individual rooms and the shape of the puzzle adds to the interest. My son loves looking at all the different things in each room and even stands on it and pretends to go up the stairs. Would recommend this for any child who likes puzzles

Another great jigsaw from Orchard Toys. Everything that my recently turned 3 Year Old likes in a jigsaw - big, bold and busy. Definitely more challenging than previous purchases from the Orchard Toys jigsaw range, but not to the point where tantrums ensue : ) My Daughter actually doesn't recognise it as a Doll's House and disputes the title (she's feisty!), prefering to call it The House Jigsaw and I tend to agree with her on this point. So, apart from the title, no quibbles whatsoever. We would definitely recommend it : )

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old puzzle addict daughter and it is possibly her favourite ever. The coloured rooms seemed to make it easier to complete than some of the other Orchard Toys puzzles she has for the same age range but I think this puzzle will continue to appeal for several years versus many others that once mastered become redundant. Our whole family love the dolls house - there is so much to talk about - my daughter loves to make up stories based on what's happening within the house. Highly recommended.

This was bought as a present and I am a big fan of both the orchard toys and jigsaws. They are simple to use and each piece is logical and cut nicely so our youngsters gain confidence from the jigsaw and want to do more and more. The dolls house is nicely impressive and so makes a lovely present. I think it is really reasonably priced and offers excellent value for money. I can't recommend these more highly and we continue to buy more in the range for ourselves and also for our family and friends
