Very impressed with this projector. It is the first I have bought and the alternative was a very expensive 50"+ TV for our summer house which is 5M×5M. I use the summer house a lot for watching Rugby and motorsports but the old 37" flat screen I was using was a bit limited, cluttered, and my daughter nicked it for her flat when she went off to university!I opted for a decent make projector instead of a Chinese model with all the bells and whistles as I was more interested in picture quality than gadgets, and plugging it into a BT box gives me all the channels I really need. I did buy a Bluetooth transmitter as the internal speakers are dire, but it's a pain to connect so I just plug it into the speaker with an audio cable. Not ideal as the sound is behind me rather than projected from the screen area, but I'll solve that later.Talking of the screen, I bought a Duronic model which has a motor to deploy and retract it. It works well and when retracted it's unobtrusive, mounted on the wall. It also seems a reasonably quality and adds to the excellent picture quality. As luck would have it, the screen size, 90", and the projector match up perfectly when mounted 5M from each other. The most important thing is, of course, picture quality. I daresay an expert in audio visual matters may have some criticisms, but for me and everyone else who has seen it, the picture quality is amazing. Perhaps a little grainy with very fine detail, but friends with big flat screens of 50" say it's no worse than that, and for the trade off in sheer size, it's inconsequential. And although it's winter, and therefore slightly gloomy most of the time, there is no problem with having the blinds up in the summer house, picture brightness gets better when it's dark, but not by much. And the whole package was a bargain. I opted for a 'scratch and dent' item from Amazon for £200 (£50 off) and got a brand new one. The screen was about £90. So less than £300 instead of well over £1,000 for a big flat screen TV which is substantially smaller. As for spending, perhaps, £1,000 on a top end projector, it may seem attractive, but I don't imagine there will be an £800 improvement in picture quality over this model. It would have to take you into the realms of holographic projection to do so.

essentially, this is a budget projector. so it's not perfect.plus points1.really good picture quality. 4k on youtube looks awesome2. 3d works really well, once youve clocked how to use it. a home projector system is great for 3d, takes longer for the novelty to wear off. particularly if youre on lsd. (if you blow smoke through the light in this mode, the pixels projected on the smoke are 3d. crazy)fyi you really need to pay about £40 for stereoscopic player software, if you want to watch 3d downloads or to retrofit your home movies to 3d (quite fun!) (or naughty videos in me and my gf's case) to get the most out of it.3. its relativley quiet4.control easy to use with useful settings like adjusting the wall colour for the projector to work out its settingsbad points1. the 4:3 aspect ratio is annoying, the 16:9 squashes the image somewhat. However, this is easily fixed if you point the projector at a mirror, which in turn projects the image giving about 30% larger screen (really works, if as u increase the distance from the projector and wall. this works with all mirrors, but expensive ones best)2. speakers, obviously. but u can plug it in to any speakers.its probably the best projector you can get at this price. and this is pretty much the entry point £ wise for anyone who wants a half decent bit of kit.remember to buy active 3d glasses with it

I had first ordered the Vivibright LED projector which also claims to be 3200 Lumens and was very unhappy with it. For just a little bit more money I got the Optoma S321 (which is still a bargain compared to other projectors) and now I couldn't be happier. It is amazingly quiet (especially in ECO mode). It easily manages to get a sharp and bright image across the ~6m distance of my lounge. It can be used with a fair bit of ambient light in the room, even during the day without closing the blinds all the way. The 3 adjustable feet make it easy to position it exactly the way you need it and the set up is quick and unproblematic. It doesn't have a great variety of input options but I only ever need VGA and that works like a charm. The remote that comes with it is really handy although it needs to be pointed directly at the projector to work. The only thing I would have liked to have is a lense cap to protect it while not in use.

After agonising over which projector to buy went for this at £200. In short I am projecting an 80inch 16:9 vibrant image onto a white wall. I have it connected via hdmi to my satellite box and have had similar success connecting to an Amazon Fire streaming box and my laptop. Image is rich enough to be watchable in daylight but is better in low light. Image will go bigger but in 4:3 resolution as that is the 'native' format for this machine. Aspect can be easily adjusted using thevremote. Cannot get the mhl connection to work but that is down to the compatibilty of my tablet and phone which I did not look into before purchase. You would need to be a bit of a tech nerd and consult the list of mhl compatible devices on the net if this is important to you.Headphone out socket makes for easy connection to soundboard or speakers.

Great starter projector, but not quite HD quality picture, still excellent though. On a 100" screen, it's sits about 4 metres from the screen. Only one hdmi socket and sits too close to the body so my amazon stick won't fit. My other devices do fit OK though. I also use my sky box and chrome stick for casting, so purchase an hdmi extender with 3 sockets (£10) and this fits fine into the slot. You'll need a surround system or sound bar, with a 3.5mm audio lead (£3) for proper sound quality. £350 for projector, £75 for electric screen, far cheaper than a TV and quality is very good. I have it on its lower seating for brightness to preserve lamp life yet still a great picture in a light room.Very happy with my purchase so far.

I bought this to replace my other 1800 lum. projector as I wanted 3D and to be able to view in daylight. This serves the purpose quite well with a sharper image but there is a drawback. It does not project as large an image as my other one at the same distance in widescreen mode (16:9) and clips off top & bottom of picture. I assume it's intended for a longer room. I can't project lengthways in my flat, which would cure this I think, as there is a balcony one end and kitchen the other. I shall most likely use both. Active glasses are better than my tv passive onesThe manual should have been on a disc but this was unreadable. You can view it online but it does not seem to be downloadable so a pain viewing 1 page at a time

I've Only just put this up on the wall this weekend, very easy to use and set up. This hangs down to project onto a wall, so to set up you need to think in reverse on the menu when you set up to get the picture the correct way round. Yes it has 2 hdmi ports and sound does come from the projector, I have turned down the sound as I do not need it yet. The zoom is easy to use, this is done my hand. It also has a mini remote control so you can work the menu from this too. I've only plugged my dvd player into this projector, and it works really well, very good quality of picture.

What a bargain! Ive had an Optoma projector before and it was great. However i needed one that has hdmi capabilty. This projector is so easy to set up and picture quality is fantastic. From where i position the projector it reaches 96" and is picture perfect. I was pleasantly surprised by the power of the speakers, i wasnt expecting much from 2watts but it is excellent. I have recommended to others and wouldnt hesitate to buy again if needed. 10 out of 10.

I bought this projector to work to connect PC which only had a VGA outlet and the projector comes with USB and HDMI. Unfortunately there is no mention about this - although these days most computers have HDMI ports but it would be useful to have this information upfront to save the hassle and stress of ordering the correct cable.Other than that its pretty good, sound quality is acceptbale and picture quality is great.Would certainly buy another one.

After two OPTOPMAs (one installed for cinema room and one died) I ordered this Optoma and a well known LED at similar price point. Compared side by side Hands Down Win by Optoma with bright picture. I used it yesterday for training in a sunlit room. Worked perfectly. Will try to upload comparison image (with LED projector). The LED projector claims of 3,500 lumens is B***sh*t. Bulb has never gone on my 3 optomas and one is 10 years old.

On a clear smooth wall this projector is fantastic. I wish I went for a 1080p but they were too expensive. Still great for gaming and movie nights.

I've tried so many different cheap LED projectors and they are so noisy and poor quality. The Optoma DLP and 3D are fantastic.
