I purchased this item in hindsight, after I purchased a On-Guard Pitbull LS-8002 Keyed Shackle Lock - Black, 11.5 x 29.2 cm, as I realized I had no theft protection for my front wheel. (I used the D-Lock to lock my rear wheel and frame to a permanent structure)Item was more than 1m long and the cable is approximately 1cm in diameter (I didn't take precise measurement of the item). My bicycle is has a 18" frame with 26" wheels. The cable was long enough to loop from the D-Lock at rear wheel into the front wheel and back to complete the loop. There is a velcro strip to secure the cable after I loop them around the D-Lock when I ride the bicycle.Protection-wise,I park my bicycle in an open public space overnight everyday for more than three months and my bicycle has yet to be stolen / or the protection of the cable and D-Lock has foiled any attempts of theft / or the presence of these protective product has deterred any attempts of theft. As such, I will recommend this product and pronounce it's effectiveness. (I will provide an update if my bicycle do get stolen, wish I sincerely hope not).

My mountain bike has a quick-release lever on the seat post. I don't suspect there's much of a market for used bike seats, but it's all too easy for passing youths to rip off your bike seat and hurl it over the nearest hedge - just because they can. This allows me to secure the seat to the big cable lock I use to loop through the wheels. The bike frame is then locked to a metal post using a D-lock. I would NOT use this tiny cable as the main security mechanism for the whole bike - it would be quite easy to get through it with a set of bolt cutters.

Perfect for what I wanted it for - securing my helmet to my D lock. It's tiny - really tiny - and weighs nothing, so no problem chucking it in a bag, pocket or wrapping it underneath the saddle.Naturally, it's a deterrent cable for less expensive bits, like saddles and helmets. Hand sized wire cutters would cut this, perhaps even scissors, so using this to secure your bicycle itself is a good way to be unburdened of your property so make sure you know what you're buying.[smallest size bought; 53x0.5]

This was purchased for home to go through/over/around the bikes in the shed. It is there as a deterrent more than anything will be locked in place by a Gold Secure Lock. Keeps the bikes together and makes it more awkward to remove quickly. We'll that's the plan and keeps the Ins Co a bit happier. Seems we'll made but not the strongest, but I purchased for ease of use by my children as well as us adults so fits the bill well. Good length and only a few pounds so a bit of a bargain.

This is worth buying as certainly do'es the job, parked my bike in our work bike rack and colleague went to move it along to get his bike in and he heard a beeping carried on moving bike and made him jump when the alarm went off, heard it from our office, so buy it if you want to protect your bike. Only downside is that smaller than I thought but have a larger D lock to attach ti bike rack

Bought this to bolster the security on my bike when its on the bike carrier on the rear of the car to secure the wheels while the rest of the frame is secured with an On-Guard D Shackle - I don't expect this can't be cut, but its there to prevent opportunists and add a bit more security when used in conjunction with a powerful shackle. Nice length so happy.

The anti-theft device is suitable for tying the bike wheel in support of a more consistent burglar alarm. Council not to use it as a main chain because it is not very robust, but is excellent as secondary anti-theft. If you want to use it to tie the seat too, I suggest you take the akita model of 2.2 m. For my use, this is already octimo.

Was looking for very long cable for bicycles in garage. Looks ideal for providing some additional peace of mind for bicycles security. These cables can be cut with large tools, so will never provide 100% security, (no lock can), but will make it a deterrent to thieves. Satisfied with my purchase, price was good, and delivery quick.

This cable lock feels good quality. I like the colours, despite that being irrelevant, it makes it aesthetically pleasing. I always associate yellow with security and alarms etc, so the yellow details add to this products design for me. I don’t know if the metal used is stronger or weaker than alternatives though. Great price.

Relatively thin loop cable. The cable has a measured diameter of 9.3 mm, weighs 416 g and is 2.12m long. For securing less valuable things completely sufficient. Deductions in the evaluation of the quality because the indicated dimensions were clearly underrun. The price / performance ratio is however very good.

Great price and delivered well before the expected date once again from SDJ Sports Ltd.Great for running through wheels, saddle rails and linking more than one bike together for added security with a chain or U lock.On-Guard Akita-8044 Looped Cable - Black, 12.0 x 1.0 cm

This cable is not to secure the bike itself. It is to secure things to the bike. I used mine to secure the saddle to the frame then looped it through my Panniers handle using a tiny padlock. For this it is the perfect size. If you want a bike lock/cable then this is not it.

Needed a really long cable to loop through the wheels of my bike trailer and back onto my D-lock. This was the longest I could find for a decent price. It's not terribly thick, so I imagine it could be cut relatively easily but hopefully it'll act enough as a deterrent.

Why: - relatively flexible steel cable - high quality - Wheels (especially with quick release) and helmet can be secured quickly - you can also connect your bike to a tree or to the towing eye of your own car (for example on the campsite) - you lock / lock several bikes

I read the description of this item which said it was 5.3cm x 0.5cm and thought that I would take a chance that there was a decimal point in the wrong place. Sure enough it turned out to be 53cm long which is just perfect for the job I had intended for it.
