I recently bought a couple of these Brute locks (one for me, one for my son) following the theft of a couple of bikes from my place of work; there's nothing quite like a theft close to home to raise your awareness. I already had an On-Guard Pitball lock which I was happy with but, given I have an expensive bike, figured that going one up to the Brute was a worthwhile investment. The Brute feels like and is a serious piece of kit; 18mm steel is as thick as your thumb and should deter all but the most determined thieves - it'll take some getting through even with a battery powered angle grinder. Fitting onto your bike is reasonably simple using the supplied bracket,

I ordered this lock three years ago and have been really happy with it! I had left my bike behind in central london near a rail station for more than a year as I worked from home for that time.After all this time I wasn't even sure if the bike would still be there but it was, I put in the key and it come off as if I left it there the day before which considering the key hole was facing up was pretty impressive!!Let's just say the bike needed a bit more work :)Only issue I now have is that the bracket to attach it to the frame while riding cracked meaning that I can't attach the lock on anything anymore. if anyone knows where to get the bracket let me know!

This lock is the dogs b*ll*cksWith an electric bike to protect I did some home work on what to buy YouTube bike locks were viewed but it seems ALL locks can be disabled with various tools, however this one will need an electric grinder to cut it. It takes a while and sparks will fly drawing attention to some one stealing it.With this lock hopefully just the sight of it will put a thief off and choose easier prey.You will be very impressed with the build quality of this and yet still at a reasonable price

Well, okay, I mean, it's probably breakable, everything is. But let's just say that EVERYONE will know someone is breaking it. I'm keeping my bike inside the dorm, on the first floor, locked onto the guard rail of the staircase (there's A LOT of space there so no problem with locking my baby there). The area is extremely populated and the risks are very high in this area. Both the bike and the staircase are in place so I can assume that the lock does the job.

Please note this is very heavy however i brought it for added security at home, so didn't intend to carry it anywhere, so it is perfect for that. Its also very good value for money as all the other gold rate locks were £70 plus! Hopefully it will never be needed, but feels a looks very study so should be a good deterrent.

Excellent piece of kit, excellent price. I have two of these, one long, one standard and the confidence they give you when you leave the bike is palpable. Just screams "don't waste your time trying to steal me!". The carry brackets work a treat, and I have no fear of the shackle falling off the bike mid ride.

Arrived quickly, in good working order , keys operating properly with the lock. A shame that keys cant be registered , only U.S customers, but there are a few keys so..Got to say looks a mean lock , a brute of a lock!! I feel my bike will be safer with this lock..if i was a bike thief i would be put off!

Feels like the jaws of a pitbull wrapped around my bike. Love its sturdiness and the small touches such as the key with the light on. I feel this is better than a lot of other locks on the market. Halfords sells a similar sized lock with the same safety rating for £80. Get an even better one here for £30.

Perfect just what I wanted, I already had a short dlock version but wanted a longer version to easily lock two bikes together , much prefer this brand over kryptonite, the lock feels easier to open and close, my kryptonite key never feels to engage and I worry it'll snap off,Plus this comes with 5 keys,

This lock must be one of the toughest to be sold.This particular model is a bit too long,i would recommend this size if you want to lock two bikes side by side.The mounting bracket is pretty steady but the lock is a little bit clingy itself.Overall excellent built quality expect the lock "clingyness".

Really solid lock. Looks like a deterrent in itself. No issues yet in London but would expect it might prove difficult to force. Heavy to carry around but the price for bike security. Would recommend. Like the light on key function to help you in the dark.

This is my second one,I bought one over a year ago for myself now I bought this one for my son. I’ve not had any problems so far hence second purchase! I do keep it maintained well ie oil it every few months or so.

I went upmarket after my previous bike had been nicked when thieves sawed through the lock.This lock is much quality - I wish I had bought something this good last time around

first one returned faulty.second one excellent. Looks and feels sturdy. I particularly like the frame mount which both securely holds the lock and makes it easy to get out.

Excellent lock, solid gold rating, have had on guard lock before, never let me down, utterly dependable when I've been in town and left my bike for a long time!
