An ideal stocking-filler for Lego addicts. Ideal, as there is just enough construction needed to satisfy that element, with the bonus of a spinning top toy to play with afterwards as well.Large Lego playsets have the drawback of taking up a lot of floor and table space, and at Christmas, this space is often at a premium. Younger children may need a lot of help with the construction of a large project, and be quickly bored with the results. This Spinjitsu set should take no more than 10 minutes to construct, but then there is the fun of playing with the spinner afterwards, and trying to master the tricks. I can remember similar spinners being popular thirty years ago,and the essential principle of a whip and top is centuries old.The age range for this set is 6-14, children of 10 and above should be able to complete it independently, thanks to the clear step by step illustrated guide. Younger children may need some help in identifying the pieces and decoding the diagrams. The handle of the spinner has a surprising number of mostly small and quite fiddly pieces, and some patience is required to put them together. The mini-figure of Lloyd sits neatly in the spinner head.Once assembled, this is likely to remain intact, how much it is played with from that point depends on the individual chilld. Dextrous children may be able to master some of the tricks, others will quickly tire of the toy, I liked it for the added play value, although a premium price is paid for the name - I was surprised at the RRP,

This is an odd 2-in-1 Lego gift that should keep fans of spinners happy. This one is Lloyd, the Green Ninja and leader of the group from the Ninjago Lego series whose dad is the evil Garmadon. It's a very quick build as far as Lego goes, just the handle and figure and a small rack that holds Lloyd's sword on. My 11 year old managed to build the whole thing herself in about 7 minutes.Once built, you pop Lloyd into the main spinner and place the plastic shell on top. Then pop this loosely on the handle you built and insert the ripcord. Pulling the ripcord spins the spinner and you tip it slighty to let it go, which it does. Our dogs think this is hilarious and chase after it,providing even more fun for my daughter.

This is essentially an expensive spinning top. There’s some Lego construction to get you started - maybe about 5 minutes worth for us? After that you’ve got a spinning top ready to go with Lloyd, the green ninja, housed inside. Our 6 year old had fun with it but I can’t help thinking for £20 it’s not the best value for money and will gather dust relatively quickly at the bottom of the toy chest. However, I could be wrong and our wee one is enjoying it and there does seem to be a fascination with spinning things at the moment. There are 5 other ninjas in the series for you to collect.

This is basically a spinning top based on the character Lloyd from the Ninjago movie. I don't know the first thing about this as I haven't watched the film, but I'm hoping that my grandsons will love this toy. First you have to put the pieces together, then you pull on the plastic cord provided and set it spinning. It's quite small so you can spin it on the palm of your hand. This is one of a set of 6 Ninja characters that you can collect. Retailing at around £10 I should think it would be an ideal stocking-filler for children aged 6-10 years.

I loved Lego as a child and my love of this Scandinavian construction toy has never left me. My lo also loves all things Lego so this was received with smiles and an excited "can we open it right now?"If you be a Lego ninjago fan in your life they will be super excited about these sets. I must admit to being a bit lost with all the different names and characters but the kids know who's who and that's what matters.Lego is still lots of fun!

I used to have toys like this in my day - a spinning top evolved into a car or figure and utilizing a saw like length of plastic to set the thing in motion. Now Lego has joined the party, adding their own spin (sorry) to the game. This is from their ninja series, is quick and easy enough to assemble, and zips about better than I was expecting.

The Lego Ninjago Spinjitzu Masters spinners are great fun! Very quick to build and easy to use. Comes with a Lloyd minifigure and a weapon display stand. Highly recommended as it's fairly cheap for Lego and has lots of play value
