This is an outstanding product and I would highly recommend Marumi filters over Hoya, Tiffen, B+W, etc, mainly because I’ve found that the quality is indistinguishable but the price is lower because Marumi is not as well known.If you research the company, you’ll find that Marumi has a rich tradition of designing and manufacturing world class filters all inside Nagano, Japan since 1952.My experience with Hoya is positive but you’ll note that some of their non “pro” filters are not made in Japan to the same exacting standards as Marumi. The pro stuff is but that’s priced accordingly.In my experience,

For more than 25 years I have bought Hoya, but Marumi are today more price competitive. There is no obvious difference between Marumi and Hoya. Like Hoya the Glass is very resistant to scratches, has a quality ‘feel’ to the finish and on a magnified view of the thread quality they’re like for like. I can see no measurable difference in optical qualities either.

I heard about Marumi filters on a photographic forum. This is the first time I have bought one of their products, and I am more than pleased with it. Very slim and top quality.

It fitted just fine ,had Marumi in past no problems. won’t have to worry if lens gets marked.
