At work we have a lot of meetings that require some kind of telepresence - usually via Skype, Slack, or Microsoft Teams. There's little more annoying than either trying to be understood or trying to understand difficult concepts in a heated debate while dealing with weak tinny, or broken up audio. Having brought the 710 in a couple of times so we don't have to deal with laptop input/output, I'm pretty impressed.Good:The number one thing for me is the sound quality, and the 710C excels. As you might expect, it emphasises the midrange in its speaker, so voices are recreated accurately and clearly. It isn't massively loud, but I'd say it's loud enough for a call in a medium sized meeting room with half a dozen or so people.I haven't been on the other side of a call featuring the 710C yet, but I've been told that the mic is likewise clear.Setup took about 10 seconds with my phone. Just hold the bluetooth button for a couple seconds and then find the device in the bluetooth menu. Pairing was instant and helpfully guided with a synthesised voice which will inform you of what the device is connected to. Apps such as Skype, Discord, and Teams work seamlessly.Other helpful feedback includes a ring of LEDs around the UFO shaped body which indicate battery life and volume. The light-up controls are easily understandable and offer decently large affordances to press. I do like the sensation of having clicky buttons in my gadgets, which this doesn't have, but the touch buttons work well. The design stays just on the right side of business-appropriate without being boring. More importantly, the charging cable and bluetooth dongle are hidden away neatly on the underside of the 710C - super useful if you're bunging the thing in a laptop bag in a hurry. Another thoughtful and attractive feature is the little kickstand, also hidden under the device - essential for propping it up on the table.Mediocre:I tried listening to music on it. It should beat most cheaper bluetooth speakers for this, but it isn't exactly a great listening experience. It's loud enough to fill a meeting room with some tunes without distorting too much. Given the business-orientation of the speakerphone, I don't think it's lack of musicality is a particularly bad thing.Overall, you get a capable and well designed speakerphone that should easily improve your conference meeting experience.

So like a number of people, I’ve been working from home for the last 4 months, the downside I’ve found is the expectation you can work longer hours as you aren’t travelling and just a room away from your laptop. For me this has meant longer days and I’ve found that using a headset for a prolonged period sometimes gave me a headache or sore ears.So I was looking for a speaker phone and found this the Jabra Speak 710.It’s pretty small, about 10cm in diameter. It can be connected to a PC via usb cable or Bluetooth dongle. It can be charged via USB while connected via Bluetooth too, or use can use it via Bluetooth only on battery. You have visual touch controls on the outer ring of the device including volume up /down, mute, answer and hang up. When on mute it visibly flashes red.I connected the Bluetooth adapter to a work laptop that manages usb devices, this was seen as a headset and was configured no problem. So far I’ve used it with Jabber, WebEx and Zoom with no issues at all, the audio is very clear and the other participants in a video or audio call get no feedback from my speaker. Others have said they can notice no difference between my headset and this. So the directional microphone and noise cancelling is very good. This has been a fantastic addition to my home office setup and I haven’t missed the original headset.I am using this in a dedicated home office setup, I’d imagine this would pick up too much noise in a common area like a dining room or kitchen if other people are around, but haven’t tried it.I do also look forward to using it with a small group of people for audio conferencing when back in the office as it will give some additional flexibility in breakout areas.A little expensive, thinking how much I’ve saved on train fares to London it paid for itself in just over a week!Comes with a nice a little storage pouch, battery usage I can’t comment on at this stage, but I’m sure it won’t disappoint.I thought I’d try it via amazon for their no quibble returns, glad I did and I won’t be sending it back!

I am home based worker and spend about 60% of my time in teleconferences. I have tried (and returned) a few products supposed to improve the ease of conducting teleconferences over VOIP and Microsoft Lync. Some units were double the price of this unit but weren't great. I was starting to think that there was nothing that was going to meet my home office needs until I tried this speakerphone! If you are looking for a USB speakerphone, you need look no further. Hands-down this is the best product by a very long way!Good points:# true plug and play.# excellent speaker and mic quality... Fantastic actually (it has made it a big difference to my participation in teleconferences).# excellent volumewith very rich sound.# amazingly sensitive mic (no complaints of metallic distortion from other meeting participants).# tap-touch volume control and mute button with nifty indicators to show volume and mute on.# feels well made and solid with non-slip base.# cord wraps around base for easy packing in the pouch it comes with.# it is small enough to be fully portable but probably not quite small enough to fit easily into a small laptop bag.Only one minor negative comment: the "answer" and "call end" buttons didn't automatically integrate with Lync on my pc and I have to use the traditional on-screen buttons. I understand that this can be corrected with a software install but I haven't bothered because I would have to get IT to install it. Very minor comment. UPDATE: my IT department installed the Jabra software. It works very well and connects seamlessly with Lync. You can even put participants on hold. i have had this product for several months and still love it.As it so happens, my company (7,000 staff, multinational) simultaneously ran a trial with the Jabra 410. They came to the same conclusion and the speakerphone is now available in all our conference rooms! If you have a lot of VOIP or lync conference calls, this speakerphone is for you. It is worth ever penny.

I work from home and have been using a USB headset for quite some time however this leaves me tied to my desk during long calls. I wanted a hands free solution and had previously tried Bluetooth headsets however they were really unreliable. My colleague, also a homeworker, had recommended this product so I thought I would give it a try. You have the option of pairing with your PC or phone via Bluetooth, leaving the device entirely wireless, or you can plug directly into the PC via the attached USB cable (which winds neatly round the base when not in use). Whilst I really like the idea of the Bluetooth option,I have been told by callers that my voice is much clearer when the device is plugged in.I have used the conference speaker many times now when using my VOIP phone and it has been a godsend. During a long meeting today, I was able to tap the 'mute microphone' button on the edge of the device and get myself a glass of water, stretch my legs etc whilst still listening in on the meeting. The quality of sound is fantastic and you can alter the volume up and down by tapping one of the buttons around the device. When not in use, the speaker can be neatly packed away into its own little zipped bag. This would be perfect for taking away on business and using with a laptop or paired with a mobile phone for long calls.I love it. 4 stars only as the quality of sound reported by my customers and colleagues when I am connected via Bluetooth is not as good. To be fair though, my PC does not support bluetooth directly and I had bought a separate dongle to facilitate this so it could be down to that.

In the box you get the device, a soft pouch, a USB dongle and user documentation. The device's USB cable wraps around the base of the unit itself, which also includes a flip-out table stand and a storage slot for the USB dongle. The whole thing is nice and compact, and easy to carry around. The device itself has a premium look and feel about it. It resembles an ice hockey puck. The central part is metal. Surrounding it are icons that illuminate in a very pleasing, modern-looking way.Unlike Jabra's cheaper versions of this device, the Speak 710 can be used with computers and tablets (using things like Skype) as well as phones. Jabra recommends using one 710 to conference call with up to 6 people, and a pair of them for up to 12 people. You can also double up 710s to create stereo speakers for music or a presentation. Connection works via USB or Bluetooth. It has a battery inside it, so you can use it without having to plug it into anything. The quality of audio is excellent. If you're struggling with conference calls at the moment, this little baby will solve your problems. You can clearly hear whoever's on the line and they can hear you. As a general-purpose speaker it's great too considering it's not true stereo, and it looks good standing next to your laptop. A button on the unit activates your connected device's voice assistant (like Siri or Google Now), the connection via Bluetooth is solid and trouble-free, and the battery lasts a long while.Basically, it's pricey but fantastic, and it's a real boon if you need to conference call a lot.

Excellent little conference speaker. I work from home and have a lot of meetings on Skype (formally Lync) and I got fed up with having to put on a headset. The sound quality is excellent, it is clear and loud, I have asked how I sound on the other end and people didn't know I was using a speaker, the sound was very clear. You can connect your laptop/pc via USB and also simultaneously connect your mobile with Bluetooth. As an audio speaker I tested it out with Spotify, there isn't a lot of bass with it being so small, but the sound isn't tinny, however its a conference speaker, if you wanted an audio listening speaker you probably would have bought something else that's cheaper and sounds better for music. The speaker is plug and play as far as the laptop/pc goes, mine just worked, I doubled checked the settings in Skype and it automatically picked up the speaker, for Bluetooth like any other device it has to be paired, I have paired and used it with a Samsung Note 5, S5, OnePlus2 without issues. On the top of the speaker there are touch controls for volume, mute, start/end call, LEDS on the top indicate the volume level, a white LED comes on when its switched on, when paired with Bluetooth and additional blue light comes on. The speaker has spoken instructions and tells you when it turns it has connected to something. It is has rechargeable battery and is very portable and is supplied with a neoprene type zip case, the USB cable wraps around the speaker and latches so there arnt any annoying trailing cables.

I mainly use this with MS Teams, connected by USB to a desktop. Although advertised with Link 360, it came with the more up-to-date Link 370 - and this connects and works fine, but USB gives better call quality. Connects with my smartphone with no problems too.Slight negatives:1) As a plain speaker on the desktop there are delays or corrupted sound alerts from Windows 10 (voice conferencing has no problems though).2) It would have been better if the fixed, wrap-around USB cable was detachable.3) If the USB cable was detachable, a longer one could be used, as the standard one is a bit short for my use.4) Ergonomically, the rear mute button would be better at the front,as it will probably be used most frequently in a call; and the front call-end button should be at the back, as it will be used once in the call, and being at the front it can be accidentally hit during the use of the Jabra.5) It claims to be MS Teams compatible, and shows up in the Jabra software as being connected to MS Teams, and inside MS Teams all is setup for Jabra. However, I can never get the Jabra call and call-end buttons to operate under MS Teams, I need to call and end via the Windows MS Teams software.I'm happy with this, but will probably go for the Jabra Speak 750 once it comes back in stock.

I use this every day and many hours each day as I work from home. Previously using a Jabra headset that was perfectly clear but after a few hours it would hurt my ears where it "clamped" onto my head. This resolved that problem immediately and has other benefits:* looks better on video calls as you don't have the headset* allows sharing calls with others in the office* packs into a very neat travel case and weighs very littleIntegration with Lync is good - volume, mute, answer and close calls via touch controls on the rim of the speaker. Clear visual indication when on mute.Losing one start because the Mute and Lync Mute sometimes get out of synch and can't get back in without closing the call and restarting. It is not a big problem but irritating when it happens and you need to make a point quickly ... can't unmute and lose the moment. Not sure if this is fair for Jabra, it could be Lync or other influence but making it clear in this review.Would I buy again - YES - this is a great device and I would not look for any other, it makes working from home on conference calls a much more pleasant experience and outperforms the PC microphone by a huge margin.

I'm using the Speak 710 for conference calls via Slack, Zoom, Facetime and Skype for Business. This review comes having used the device for one week.Connection is via the included Jabra Link 370 dongle on a Mac, but bluetooth connection from Mac and iOS devices has worked fine too.The call quality is nice and clear with a natural sound. I've had no complaints about my voice quality from the other side. Comfort-wise, I find using a speakerphone is far nicer than using earbuds, even very comfortable ones. The speaker controls are easily accessible, changing volume and muting is very simple. I particularly like the visual mute indication (lights go red)I love the portability of the device - it's simple to just pick it up and change rooms, moving between various locations with no audio problems.I usually leave the 710 connected via USB so it's fully charged, when running via battery I had a day of normal use out of it (not constant) with a little juice to spare.I'm very happy with the 710. I'm not sure how I previously survived without it :)Update: 4 months later, it's still performing excellently.

I own both the 510 and 710. They both sound the same and both work well with PC or Mac. If you see a version that says Optimized for MS Lync, just get the cheaper one. The optimised part just means the buttons in the Jabra interacts with the Lync aka Skype for Business. So if you press mute it will indicate that onscreen. The standard one just mutes but doesn't show it. Pressing the call button in the device answers the Lync call. But this rarely happens because I have to be in front of computer anyway to make the call and to see who's on etc. Most companies I work for now use google hangouts. Which works perfectly fine without the button interaction with the software. So the main difference between the 710 and 510 is the build quality 710 is mostly metal and 510 is 100% plastic. 710 also has a stand to direct the speaker (vertically) towards one specific direction. This is not really necessary because we usually move the jabra towards the person who is speak anyway. The speaker can get loud enough to fill up a quiet board room. The mic can pic up voices 2-3 meters away. So it works in a 6m x 6m board room.

Really chuffed with this purchase. I have recently joined a new company whom use Skype for Business as their conference facility and this poses a problem when there is more than one of you, as the sound on laptops usually isn't up to the job. I hunted around and came across the Jabra Speak 510 on Google. The reviews were great so I decided to go on Amazon and I found it for half the price as listed on their website. It really is brilliant. The sound quality is great and the people I speak via this device confirm this. Connectivity to any Bluetooth enabled device is extremely easy and there is no device PIN input required which is always a bonus! The range is good, too,and I can easily walk round the room with my phone in my pocket and there's no problem, even walk around the home/office and it will stay connected when I return to my desk. I have it plugged in to my laptop to use as a multimedia speaker (I use Apple Music via iTunes) and have my phone connected via Bluetooth --- seemless integration! 100% recommend this to anyone... PS: This is not a paid endorsement haha :)

Read other reviews and spent a lot of time deciding on the best way to participate in telecons from my home office. Our IT department recommended a very expensive wireless headset, but in the end I selected this option at a third of the price, plus it seems much less likely to break in my laptop bag when travelling. While deciding on options I'd used an old headset - everyone complained that they could not hear me very clearly. With this speaker phone no complaints, plus I'm now able to participate in 3+ hour telecons without getting a very warm ear. Plus I think its important to hear through two ears, not just one.Although it is best to fully install the driver, all the important functions on the speakerphone Volume up + down and mute worked from the moment I plugged it into the side of my computer. As I do not have admin rights to my work computer I had to get our IT dept. to install the driver properly (via remote link) - no issue. All buttons do everything they are meant to with the SoftPhone (Cisco).

Bought a couple of these for the meeting rooms at my company. They work very well. The microphone is able to pick up people's voices from quite a distance away. It worked fine with both a mobile phone and with a laptop. I used it with Skype For Business on my laptop, and after a lot of fiddling with the settings, we were able to use this device as the microphone, but use the speakers and projector in our meeting room. I'd advise you to get the version which comes with the pre-paired USB dongle like I did, as it eliminates all the hassle of bluetooth pairing between your PC and this device, which can sometimes be a bit hit or miss. If you're looking for the bluetooth dongle,it's in a little velcro pocket inside the carry case. Just beware that it took a long, long time for my laptop to find / download / install all of the required drivers - it didn't require any manual installation, but it just took a long time. Highly recommended!

Absolutely love this Bluetooth mic/speaker. We'd been having Skype and MeetMe calls with clients for a while, but there were regular issues with them hearing us or us hearing them. We were just using the speakers on our mobile phones. So I bought this hoping it would improve the call. It is dramatically better. I've been told on a number of occasions that it sounds like I'm using a headset or that I'm not on a loudspeaker. The range is good too. I can leave my mobile on my desk and have the speaker on the other side of the office which is about 20 metres. I can also plug it into my PC and use Skype on there with the Jabra. It's easy to turn the volume up and down, the Bluetooth on and off,and there is also a battery level indicator so you know how much power is left.Another thing I found is that I can charge the Jabra from my portable battery so I can take this anywhere. This is definitely a purchase that I have no regrets on.

I am currently using this with Lync telephony in a meeting room that seats 16 people. It is in the middle of a table thay measures about 2 meters by 5 meters in a room that is about 5 meters by 8 meters. The average distance from the mic is 1.5/2 meters. The people on the phone can hear all people in the room speaking normally, or maybe slightly more expressively (as we tend to do on conference calls). The speaker quality is excellent.Yesterday, I used the Jabra in a longer narrower room, and it did not work so well. The accoustics of the room are abvously a factor in the quality.I have experimented with the bluetooth connection to my iPhone, but have no experience of using it for real.I expedt the quality to also be excellent.Overall this is an excellent piece of kit for a reasonable price. If you are accustomed to visiting businesses who do not have adequate telephony, this is an excellent solution.
