This is a basic, no-nonsense speakerphone. It is quite loud, has speaking prompts to indicate min/max volume when you use the buttons on the unit, and has a coloured ring that indicates if the device is muted or not. You can also answer calls if your software supports it.The cable is not very long, but is adequate for laptops. I liked this device, the sound quality is fine and I'm understandable at the other end.I have also used a more expensive Poly device, but bear in mind that some organizations will only support particular speakerphones (they do tweaks to ensure good quality) and the higher end Poly devices may not be supported in all orgs. It didn't work for me,

Purchased to replace an older unit purchased a number of years ago. Good unit with regard to sound pick-up from nowhere in the room. Rated as 4 instead of 5 as the volume adjustment is not as smooth as the older unit. Where the older unit had a very smooth transition when adjusting the volume, this unit tends to jump.
