I have purchased both the "I Never Forget A Face" and "Life On Earth" eeBoo memory games for my three-year-old granddaughter and they have been a hit.Memory games are a great investment because children enjoy playing them for a span of several years and their parents enjoy playing them, too. They exercise memory and concentration, foster the development of social skills, and teach pattern and spatial recognition and even math. My grandaughter even uses hers in solitary play. The construction of these sets is superior to that of other, mass-marketed memory games; they're built to withstand many years of use and the cards are perfectly sized for little hands to pick up and manipulate. They're also easy to pack (in a baggie) for a trip. But what sets the eeBoo games apart is their quality artwork. When purchasing any item, I always look at aesthetics first and I think this guiding principle is especially important when choosing play equipment for children. Practical, well-ordered, and beautiful design is art education built into the object. If children are only presented with cutesy Disney and schlocky Hallmark images, they will grow up thinking that that is what the world is supposed to look like. The images here are accessible and kid-friendly, but do not stoop to the level of cartoon-y condescension or crass product endorsement. Please consider this review a hearty endorsement of these and other eeBoo products. And thanks to Amazon for making available to us products that are not, but should be, stocked at the local box stores.

I bought this game about a month ago. I provide daytime care/education for my 3 granddaughters: ages 22 mos., 3 yrs., and 4 1/2yrs. I am big into educational games and am a retired preschool/kindergarten teacher. We LOVE this game! We typically play it several times a day in various ways. Individually, they will bring it to me or work on it on their own. The 22 mos. old can match 3-4 pairs at a time and is also learning to turn them face down to play "concentration" (needs help with this). For each of the girls, we start with 3-4 pairs at a time and work up. We are working on them using their words to describe what they see, ex. "what is she wearing?"; "she's got a pink scarf on", etc..It is a game I see them using often and for quite some time. The materials are very sturdy and they even survived a minor "nibbling" incident. Great for visual discrimination, memory, similarities and differences, verbalization, etc.. Highly recommend this product! Update: We have now owned this game for 4 years. My grandkids still play it several times a week. It is looking a little worn but the individual tiles and the box are still in good condition. That's unusual for an item used so often (in my experience).

One of the best gifts--my 6 year old grandson loved this game and has asked to play a number of times since Christmas. There are a ton of "matching" games out there but this one is special for several reasons; the quality of the card stock they use is super durable, and the illustrations are particularly well done. Also, because the kids come from all over the world we are able to have discussions about the weather in that area (why they are dressed a particular way), their different religions (some girls have their hair covered, the girl from India has a red dot on her forehead, the boy from Israel is wearing a Yamakah etc.) and we've looked at where the countries are located on the globe.I highly recommend this game for anyone wishing to gently introduce the concept of diversity and acceptance to young ones--children end up learning a little about history, geography and religion as well depending on how much discussion you have during or after the game. All around couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Classic Concentration + global cultural awareness at a level that connects with kids = awesome.Great concept, nice solid game feel, reasonably balanced geography (3 Africa, 3 North America, 2 Caribbean, 5 Europe, 2 Middle East, 6 Asia, 2 South America, 1 Oceania), beautiful/chic design both front and back. The game is compact and portable. We call out the names of the countries as we turn them over, both as a mnemonic tool for the game and to help them begin to develop associations with the country names. Homeschooling families could probably build a bigger geography lesson out of this, pull a globe over and talk through where all these places are, perhaps even make other mini-games out of the pieces. We highly recommend it.You can't go wrong!

I agree with the other reviewers that the pictures are fantastic of all of the children, but wanted to point out the box mine came in (maybe all the boxes?) shows each child's picture with the name of their home country. My 3 and [....] play the game and shout out the names of the countries the children are from as they play. It's so great to hear my kids yelling "Tanzania!" and "Norway!" and "Puerto Rico!" while they flip the cards. I highly recommend this game for your own kids, kids you know, birthday presents for ages 3 and up. Our whole family plays together and the kids sometimes beat the adults : )We also love eeBoo's "Life On Earth" matching game with amazing illustrations of various flora and fauna on our planet.

I am in love with this memory game, it is so many things at once. I bought this to show my toddler girl the different types of races and cultures, the toy is great for this because it shows different children from different countries and how they dress. When she is a little bigger I will show her to play memory with this, right now we just match the faces and I talk to her about this or that other child and where they live and what they do.Besides that the material of the toy is very good too, it is sturdy and has a soft finish, the colors are beautifull. If I were a child I would be happy to have this.

We played this at a friend's house and have been hooked ever since! My 4 year old son and his friends love it because it is fun. I love it because the quality of the game is great (nice sturdy cards on board not flimsy paper but small enough for little hands) and it offers up a multicultural experience for my son, teaching him that there are lots of different looks of kids around the world. I buy this as a gift for every 4 & 5 yr old birthday party we go to, especially for the girls. It makes a great, unique gift. Wish I could find it at stores around our city, but so far can only find it online.

While searching for a memory game for my 3-1/2 year old daughter, I was disappointed with all the "character-driven" versions out there trying to sell us something. So....I came across these Eeboo products and am in love with them! My daughter has wanted to play with it every day for a week now. For her age, the entire box is too many to do at one sitting, so I recommend putting 6 or 8 pairs in a separate basket to begin with. Have fun! We're all addicted to it now!

We purchased this Memory game as a birthday gift for our 4 year old and have played it EVERY day for at least 3 weeks. This classic game never grows old. EeBoo has done such a fantastic job creating beautiful and extremely durable cards. They are thicker than other Memory games we have owned so I predict they will last much longer. Our entire family-- mom, dad, and five children from 13 to 4, have enjoyed playing this game.

I bought this for my daughter and 3 of her friends who all came home from their orphanage in India around the same time. It's a lovely matching game that celebrates kids of all nations. Ours even came with a nice world map that we hung up in my daughter's room!! (I think it was a special addition?) This product is educational, well made, comes in a nice box, and is well worth your money!

I gave this memory game as a gift to a 6 year old girl. It is made of good quality card board and the pictures are very colorful. It is very educational, everyone can play and it improves the memory and at the same time you can talk about the different country and traditions that exists in the world. I will get this game in the future for my 2 year old(he's to young still).

Great quality. Love eeBoo's products. It lost a star simply because it has a different backing however than the nature cards I own by the same company so they are not combine-able. Also, some people look too similar to each other which makes matching extra challenging. Lastly, the set has no one that looks like anyone in our family - so it was just a tad strange.

This game is so great! I just played it with a 4 and 5 year old. The younger kid wouldn’t have had the patience for it a few months ago, but now proved to be mature enough to be a good sport. The pieces are thick and really durable. We talked about the countries of origin and the boys practiced using descriptors while playing this FUN game! Highly recommend!

My daughter loves Eeboo games and puzzles (such beautiful colors and excellent quality boards), and this was a big hit. She already loved the Animal Face version of this game, but asked Santa for this gorgeous Never Forget a Face version, and it doesn't disappoint. Matching Pairs is such a great game for all ages, and a classic. Well worth the price.

Great game for at home 2 1/2 and 5 yr olds in family. They love the matching game, learn about cultures and the world, geography too. Opens the door to learning and connection. Purchased “Around the World” plush dolls too and sent later The kids really enjoy this game. So good and a leap off point to more learning and connection in so many ways.
