Came really sharp, which is a good thing, comes with a small sheath that fits the over the end of the axe, doesn't fit that well, a bit loose, you could actually slip it off without undoing the clasp, I soaked mine in water and let dry which shrunk it a little, so it now fits that little bit better, the handle came quite rough, (might just be mine) needs sanding, but all in all I'm happy with it, it's a good make, one thing though, it's a wee bit heavier than expected if your doing a lot of chopping with one hand I can see it being tiring, not used mine yet but looking forward to doing so.

I have a Fiskars splitting axe (which is ruddy ace btw) and I was after a more traditional axe for kindling and taking to the woods. This axe was cheap. £31 or so. I spent £15 on a cheap hatchet, but this already feels like a more capable tool. Easily worth more, i think. The Gransfors etc are probably nicer, but way more expensive. I had to sharpen it up a bit, but it is lovely to use pretty much straight away. Great for splitting logs into kindling, trimming branches (green), and then also great for short-handle work. Wanted a swedish ponce axe, and got one for a low price. Get one!

Not only was this the best deal for this item but it arrived in double quick time and having used it extensively can say it holds an edge as well as any have encountered. It is short enough to use for carving yet because of the head weight, performs batoning and light chopping with ease.The Hickory handle is beautifully grained and with a quick rub over with some fine sandpaper and some oil it became a thing of beauty!My only criticism is that i would have preferred the head to be natural rather than the painted finish.

This is a high quality well made axe and it will easily last for years, it’s very sharp and available to use straight away. The only gripe I have is that it is quite heavy if you are using it single handed for a long time it can start to feel heavy, however it is well placed to chop up sticks as well as using it two handed to cut up small logs, I really do like it and would recommend it, however I am now tempted to buy the next size down as well to chop up kindling over a long period of time without my arm aching.

I don't know much about axes, but purchased this one based on watching reviews on You Tube. I own a Karesuando bushcrafting knife & was hoping that the axe would be of similar Scandinavian craftsmanship & quality. The tool has met my expectations so far. The blade is very sharp & appears to be forged from high quality steel. I bought the item to construct a rustic shelter I am impressed with its performance so far.

A recent interest spokesman crafts necessitated the purchaser an axe to split small logs and remove waste in order to carve and work the remaining wood into a useful object. This axe has proved to be very useful. If anything a little larger than I need but is good quality and very reasonably priced. I would certainly purchase other Hultafors items and particularly from this seller.

Able to take and maintain a really sharp edge.Not the greatest looking axe. Very versatile, can be used two handed, or if the grip is shortened as a hatchet.Great axe for hard work for a huge variety of tasks. Does not cost a fortune but still great quality, both head and shaft. Not too heavy for prolonged use by an oldie like me.

Extremely well made, good feeling, good looking axe/hatchet.We live in Montana and heat with wood alone. We cut a lot of wood. These tools aren’t toys for a hobby. We have to get very good equipment or waste time, effort and possibly get hurt.This axe is absolutely on par with our Gransfors-Bruks axes.

An absolutely cracking axe. The edge protector included with the axe was not as good as it arrived with a hole in it, new one bought.Very sharp out of the box and the handle was smooth and finished with linseed oil. Would definitely recommend and I feel an to start collecting!!

This axe feels right from the moment you pick it up. Not a lightweight but perfectly balanced and great performance. The factory edge needed some work with a honing stone, but takes an edge you could shave with. Fine Swedish steel at a bargain price, you won't be disappointed...

I bought a Hultafors splitting axe years ago but bulked at paying over the odds for a small axe. Took the plunge just to check quality was still good, so goddess that I went straight back and purchased a Hultafors classic mini. They just make you feel good.

Awesome Medium Axe. Big enough to have sufficient chopping power, and small enough for a one-handed operation. Handle was a bit rough, easy to fix with sandpaper. Edge profile was okay, sharp enough to use right out of the box.

This axe is very good for such a low price. Keeps an edge nicely and is pretty sharp. The only issue I have with it is a little area next to the edge that has been painted to cover the metal which there is really no need for.

Came reasonably sharp.but just a few strokes on the stone and a strop and it was paper cutting sharp. Lovely grain and finish on the handle and nice leather guard also. Lovely tool and much better value than its competitors

I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains of CA and use axes and hatchets weekly. This hatchet showed up with a sharp edge , beautiful uniform handle and is a real showpiece. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend.
