Do pay attention, folk; this is not a statue per se. It's a Black Series figure with a display stand.It looks great and is a really nice addition to my display. Lit up it's even better.Flaws? Several.Although it's an action figure it is not poseable in any way. Fair enough, but a bit more individuality would have been nice. The paint job has silver around the neck and under the chin. I know some designers think this improves the look but it's not on the original helmet and always looks a bit odd to me when they do this. Personal taste, in the end, though and I may well paint it out some day.Worst, though, is that, despite this being an illuminated display piece, they haven't put any illumination into the figure.

The original RRP for this item was to high to buy when this set was first released so many never purchased it at the time. Since then, it's come down in price drastically and hence become more affordable and fans have been buying these and the companion Luke for a better price.The Vader set is very nice, principally a display statue with no articulation, the figure comes as a kit that one snap fits the body parts onto. The figure then locates onto the base to remain static. The base has a lighting function that adds a nice explosive effect and red hot door edge where Vader has cut the door out. the brightness is just enough to give a nice glow.A very nice piece and well worth the cash.

I got this for my brother for his birthday as he absolutely loves Star Wars. There was a bit of assembly required as Darth Vader comes in two or three bits, but nothing complex.It doesn't include batteries but that's not much of an issue. The phaser blast lights up. It has two settings so you can have the light flicker until you turn it off and It makes for quite a cool centre piece or you can have it just flicker for a few seconds and then go off.

Be careful fitting the blade into the hilt - the hole is very tight and the sabre is so soft it bends. It is as breakable as the tabbed sabre that came with the first ever vader figure created.The light effect lasts a few seconds - it is not continuous but it also shows thru the white plastic of the door frame esp at night. Overall a great figure but only at reduced prices - full price is just not worth it

Fantastic piece of modelling and the figures are quite large too. Ideal if you add a couple of extra snow troopers. The lighting effect is very impressive. Buy it.

Great item that looks very effective, the parts are quite difficult to put together but they're quite snug which is good for its display.

Bought as a gift - the light saber was a royal pain to assemble (still on with building it) but nice plast display piece overall :)

Sensational I'm obsessed I am an adult star was fan and this is just unreal. I am so lucky to own this, the detail is flawless.

Lovely piece the lights add a nice touch saber is about hard to fit otherwise it's what you expect from black series

Absolutely loving them! set the betteries and light them up for an extra enhanced mood. Totally recommendable .
