The knife fits very well in my pocket, and has a very slim profile for how long the blade is. There are plenty of compromises made to get it this thin, but it still has no blade play. I had the STL2.0, which is even slimmer and smaller, but was a little to small to hold, so I bought this one as an upgrade. I would definitely recommend both knives, but the 2.0 is probably better suited for people with smaller hands. Here are the list of compromises in my opinion. None of these bother me, but might help you:- Not a very ergonomic grip. You can hold it just fine, but it wont be super comfortable- You have to use two hands to close it. I haven't found a way to close it without using both hands- While it is possible to open with one hand,it takes a bit of practice and isn't very fast to open like an assisted-open knife- The black finish on the knife will slowly wear away on the edges, giving it a "used and abused" sort of look- The open design sometimes allows for lint to get in between the two pieces of the handle. Still very easy to clean out.

I am that dad who always has a small penknife in my pocket and chapstick. I just grew up that way. I like this knife for three main reasons, it is sturdy, sharp and flat. The blade is wide enough and long enough and the handle as well to allow for good control of small tasks. It is super easy to unfold and the locking mechanism requires attention - which invites safety and that is a good think. It is as near a perfect pocket sized, small camping knife as I will ever need. The body of the handle is open as well which allows for easy cleaning and light weight. The rivets that make the body connections are strong. It holds its edge well. Highly recommended.

A good quality sleek looking folding knife at a very reasonable price. I bought it mainly to open parcels and packaging. It came fairly sharp but definetly not razer sharp. I havn’t bothered sharpening it up as it is more than sharp enough for what I need it for. It has a very thin blade which is ideal for opening boxes, but I wouldn’t want to try and pry anything too hard or heavy with it. Perfect for small cutting tasks. I was quite surprised by how small it felt in my hand. The locking mechanism is quite tight so I’m not worried about the blad folding back unexpectedly causing injury. I’m very happy with it overall

I love my little Gerber knife! It goes with me everywhere and I use it for all kinds of things from cutting open tape and plastic packaging to slicing avocados (I don't cut cardboard cuz I don't want to treat it that way). Maybe the only thing missing is a clip, but that would defeat the point of keeping it super small and portable. You can attach it to a keychain, but I find that when using it, anything attached to it is uncomfortable in my hand, so I just left it on its own. I have small hands and with a little practice, can easily open it with one hand (closing it, not so much).

Love this little knife. I use it more than I thought I would. Very sharp blade and is very sturdy overall. The fingernail hole does not really make this a knife you can open with one hand and you are more likely to get cut trying. The lanyard hole can probably be used to put it on a key ring since the overall width is less than a quarter of an inch and the hole is close to the edge. It does require some breaking in as it is a bit stiff to open. I did this by opening it to the first click and then closing it. A drop on oil would probably be helpful too.

I was expecting this a day after it came, and was very pleased with this fast shipping. Just holding it you know it is good quality, the metal is heavy enough so you feel comfortable holding it, but not so much that it is awkward to use. my only complaint is that it does not come very sharp, so it will need to be sharpened if you want it so, but it is not so blunt that it is unusable. i haven't had it for long and will update if anything goes wrong. very good value for money.

I love this knife! I've enjoyed the smaller version for several years so when I was looking for something a bit larger as an EDC I was happy to find this one. I put small lanyards on mine (2-3 inch long paracord) because they are very slim and tend to get away or slip out of a pocket when folded. The lanyard hole provided in the knife is perfect for this. When opened, although slim, the grip is stable and comfortable in my large hands. Kudos to Gerber on another great blade.

I needed a knife for a trek to Everest base camp, it's compact, light and efficient! I didn't need a multi-tool knife due to the nature of the surroundings on my trek, however I was cautious about purchasing a smaller knife which wouldn't be able to handle the conditions. But this is extremely well made and stood up to the tasks I required it for, fits comfortably in the pocket and has a very adequate yet simple safety lock to stop any accidents. Highly recommended

I thought this knife would be just a junk knife to keep in my pocket without the fear of losing it. I was wrong! the knife is well made and extremely sharp. I fell in love with this knife. I don't use it everyday, but its profile is perfect for my pocket. I lost the first one I bought and was so impressed with it that I had to buy a replacement. No, it is not very expensive, and no, it will not take down a bear, but it is exactly what i need for day to day living.

It's a great size between your normal EDC and the 2.0 version. But not too big that it would feel bulky. I actually prefer it over the 2.0 now for my tackle box as a backup or for doing everything but cutting fish, but in a pinch, it would cut the fish for bait. The 2.0 did the job but was just a tad too small sometimes. Biggest issue is rust, the 2.0 didn't last too long with the salty water.

A very nice sized knife for fitting in your pocket. I really like how slim it is. I would have preferred if it was made to open with one hand. Maybe after using it a while it might loosen up a bit and it will then be able to open with one hand.To unlock it and close the blade is also very stiff. With time that will also hopefully loosen up a bit too. Apart from that I like it very much....

If you are trying to decide whether or not to buy this knife, look no further. This knife has a nice thin blade and is super sharp. I tested it out on a cardboard box and it cut through the box like butter. It is as sharp as a box cutter knife. The thin sharp blade makes all the difference. The frame lock is easy to use and holds the blade snug in place. Best pocket knife I've ever owned!

Nice little pocket knife but it has a liner lock so illegal for carrying everyday in the UK. I carry it in my bag to work for opening boxes and pallet wrap and works well for that. Nice lightweight and easy enough to get a sharp edge on it. If you need to push hard it’s not the most comfortable if you have to really push on it with it being so thin but over all a fine knife.

this knife is excellent. it is perfect to carry around every day because it has a very flat profile, so nothing snags on the inside of your pocket. it feels very sturdy, even for a pocket knife. one of my friends found this exact same knife except it was the smaller version, and the black finish was worn away to a dark grey color and it looks really good that way.

It isnt as thin as I thought it would be, but still a great product! Sharp, light and overall great. The only thing I would ask the manufacturer to change/add is a lock to keep it closed. It opens way too easily in my pocket without me touching it. Also the lock that keeps the blade open is a little difficult to close, it is in an awkward spot.
