Pros: --This knife was pretty inexpensive; I won't cry if I lose this one and have to buy another.--It's attractive--It's lightweight: 2.81 oz (79.7g) according to my scale--It's unobtrusive: I don't feel it clipped to my back pocket even when seated in a car. (Unless I'm doing a lot of squirming around.)--It arrived quite sharpCon: --Thumb studs are fairly pointless and maybe even counterproductive. They don't, in any way, facilitate opening or closing the knife. In fact they're more of a pain as they're the one part of the knife likely to dig into your butt while sitting and the rear one tends to bindup on your pocket when trying to clip or unclip the knife. They're just unnecessary.--The serrated part of the knife had burs on it when it arrived. Fortunately I had a Lansky Blade Medic in the same order and the burrswere quickly removed.--It arrived with a tiny nick on the cutout side of the blade. The nick is tiny, just about the size of a small needle's eye. It's not a problemfor me, personally, but, even a cheap knife should be free of that kind've defect.Overall, I'm glad I got the knife. It does what I want it to and, although, the cons were enough to knock off a star, they were not, at this price, enough to phase me all that much.I'll be honest and say, right from the get-go, that I don't know much about pocket knives. I certainly didn't know how amazingly expensive they could get. I'm just looking for a knife to keep on my person to cut up apples and that sort of thing, maybe open a few boxes or suchlike. I don't think I'll be fighting bears or anything like that (at least it's never come up so far), furthermore, I may lose this thing. Much easier to part with 20 bucks than with 200.Anyway, the knife. It opens and closes easily, although I need both hands for each operation. That's okay for me; you never need the element of surprise when cutting bits off of apples. It does, however, call into question the utility of the thumb studs. I have to use both hands to start the knife opening. Once I've overcome the initial resistance I could conceivably use my thumb to open the blade the rest of the way, but once you've used both hands to begin opening the knife, it's really just quickest to finish opening that way. Furthermore, the rear stud, as one review wrote, impedes the top of the clip (mind you, it could be that this also helps keep the knife in place once it's clipped to your pocket, but this seems unnecessary): I'll probably just remove it.For my purposes it helps that the knife is fairly unobtrusive. I don't feel it at all once it's clipped on, even when I'm sitting in the car. That, to me is a bonus.

I haven't used it in the field yet but, based on what I inspected the product out of the box, it looks well-assembled, lightweight and simply impressive with the price I paid for. All component fittings are in a good shape and the knife itself is good looking on hands. The handle shape is designed ergonomically so I am able to hold it tight very comfortably. I would carry it out wherever I want without giving a second thought on weight concerns. The design of folding/unfolding the blade is particularly innovative and smart in terms of production and cost. I personally love it but there are some drawbacks worth to be mentioned. Both hands are required to unfold/fold the blade. It just can't be ready to use with only one hand operated after picked up from your pocket. Folding the blade to keep it safe is also not friendly and prone to cause an injury to users in my opinion. To unlock a step of blade folding operation, I had to have some force around 4-5 Ib from the tip of my thumb nail exerted on particular surface of the handle structures and this could possibly cause some fatigue in the long term usage. As a thumb must be placed in the range of blade movement while folding, you'll encounter a moderate chance to cut yourself if you don't pay attention to it. I also wish the handle plates had a better finishing because I still could visualize some burrs on edges when looking at it closely.Overall, it is a good folding tactical knife on the market. Even though there are some difficulties in folding/unfolding the blade, I still would recommend this to others but with some safe practices and procedures.

Excellent after 2 days of normal use. Negative reviews seem to be from people not familiar with how to handle tools, especially sharp ones. This is a tool which can be adjusted to your particular tension requirements. One must have a Torx driver of the correct size to adjust the through bolt tension to the desired level for your personal needs. The blade will then open with the ease you desire. The placement of the open bolt is a bit close to the pivot bolt so I had to make the tension less than I would normally have, but it works well when I push the blade open with my thumbnail. One review said they got their fingers into the "unprotected" blade. He must have "small hands". I'm 5'6" and my hands are not big,yet I have had no problems. I walked around with it much of the day just opening and closing it instead of fiddling with beads or similar. That was how I decided on the Torx setting. I also could not get my fingers in the way of the closed device. From factory it is quite sharp. However, I will need to use it for a period of time before deciding if deserves a 5, or demoted to a 3.Thus far, the WEIGHT and style are exactly what I want in a light but fully capable pocket knife. I have many knives as they are a hobby. If this holds an edge it will become my standard carry.

I absolutely love this knife! I’ve had many over the years. Problem with some is that the pocket clip gets loose because they’re screwed into plastic. This one is all metal. Although I’ve only had it a week, everything is holding up. I’m a fireman in NYC and use this for everything. Was originally looking at a leatherman skeletool because a friend at work has one but after looking at their reviews of broken blades and pliers because of all the cutouts to make it lighter in the pocket I decided to get this. This one is still very light in the pocket you barely know it’s there. Very sturdy, very clean looking in the stainless steel. An awesome price that I would buy another if I ever had to.It’s also not that hard to close with the frame lock design. It’s just right and doesn’t have spring assist open so that’s nice too!Update: months later it’s still my favorite and it’s holding up strong with daily use!

The blade is sharp and keeps its edge well. The clip is very strong. The best way to use this to your advantage is to clip the knife to the inside of your jean pocket, with the clip side out. It is possible to clip to a belt, but belts are typically thicker than denim and harder to remove the knife from. The knife is versatile. I have used mine for cutting and eating food, opening boxes, cutting old rubber exhaust hangers from my car, and stabbing through the near-impossible-to-open retail packaging most electronic gadgets come in these days.I have had a few of these in the past, and I have had to replace them because I abused them. The main thing this knife is not suited for is prying, which I unfortunately have had a habit of doing. I've broken the knife from its handle by doing that. MY fault, NOT the knife's!Overall, this is a wonderful knife to keep as a daily clip-on.

This knife is amazing! When I took it out of its packaging I cut up the plastic it was in before sharpening it. It cut through it like a razor blade. This will be the knife I carry around every day because it is perfect for everyday uses and it is the right size.I don't know if it could ever break because of its sturdy construction. I dont know if I would take it camping though because I would want something more like the Gerber Infantry LMF knife or something like that that is a little bigger and also has a serrated section. Great knife and if you buy it you will be satisfied the moment you get it out of the box.

I have been carrying this pocket knife for over a year. I use it almost daily to open boxes or cut the random stuff that needs to be cut during a normal day. The knife has held up extremely well and still looks new. There is no rust and the finish is pretty tough and does not have any scratches.I have sharpened this knife a number of times, because a dull knife is pretty useless. The knife came with a very sharp edge that held up for a long time. But all knives eventually dull, and then a quick sharpening put this back into great shape.

Is this really a 5 star knife? Not normally, but for the $16 I paid for it on Amazon, heck yeah! Really, that's probably about the same I paid for one of these about 10 years ago at a Walmart in Texas. Considering I put that knife through some moderate abuse for at least 5 years and it still felt sturdy in my hand says something for the build quality. Not the coolest or toughest knife out there, and with the huge gaps in the frame it will definitely collect any of the crap in your pocket, but 98% of the time, it'll get the job done.

I like the knife. It is a handy all-purpose cutting tool. I carry it most of the time. The downside is that eventually the belt clip gets stretched and it won't hold it in my pocket. This requires getting two different size, very small, six-headed screwdriver to get the clip loose. I can reshape it and get it re-attached, but after a few iterations, the small screws don't hold any more. Then it becomes a pocket knife without a clip. Of course, in that configuration, it is less likely to snag on a chair and escape my possession.

Just received the knife tonight. Initial impression is a great knife. Light weight, strong clip, very thin making pocket carry very comfortable. Would definitely buy again!!Update: After having the knife a few days still stand by the fact that it’s a great value for the money. However the thumb assist it rather large and if carried inside the pocket with the clip on the outside of the pocket it tends to really get in the way if you are trying to get your hand in your pocket. Not a huge deal but has become a bit annoying.

I bought this to replace one that I lost. I would have given it 5 stars but compared to the one I lost this blade is harder to open and the lock is difficult to release. Also the thumb stud has rough edges that scrape my hand when reaching in my pocket.*** 9/25/18 *** Bought another replacement. Gerber must have been listening because the knife I just received is as smooth as silk. The blade opens and closes smoothly with one hand and the finish is perfect. This is an awesome everyday carry knife!

This product comes sharp in the package. It's a nice fit in the hand and the build quality is solid for sure. My only problem with it is thats it is a bit "too" stiff. I have nerve issues in my right thumb so the lock on this knife ends up being pretty difficult to close the knife. But that also means that is is very secure so I would definitely recommend it to a majority of individuals that are looking for a slick secure knife.

This is my favorite every day carry knife. It comes relatively sharp, and seems to keep it's edge well. I've seen some concern about the blade being exposed while its folded, and people cutting themselves. I have never had this problem, and it rides in my pocket all the time. Since it's not too expensive, I'm not afraid ruin the knife with constant use. If it breaks or gets fouled up, I'll just buy another.

Great knife for the money! My third one, only because I keep forgetting to take it out of my pocket when entering the airport or concerts... Lightweight and sharp enough... only suggestion would be to work on the thumb release to make it a bit easier to work. I loosen the star nut to loosen the action a bit, but the thumb release is always tight. Don’t let the word out on this, or the price will go up!
