I have never played Terra Mistica, we went straight to Gaia project. And we love it! The rules are complicated but they make much more sense once you start playing it and get used to the iconography. Game is complex, deep and strategic with 14 different factions with special ability to pick from. And each game is unique, long and challenging in it's own way. Player components are really nice.

It takes a few plays to figure out a more optimal way to play (which I enjoyed figuring out).This game is on the complex side, but to me it plays like a video game.I can leave it sitting out and play over and over without it stressing my brain too much like some games.Love the tracks that improve your technology! Also the solo mode works really well.

It's a very entertaining game, a bit more complex and not so simple, which allows for many different strategies. You can easily spend two hours when playing with your friends. Due to it's complexity I think this game is more suited for adults than kids.
