You could mount the camera without this but if would recommend this mount. It comes with a self adhesive template for cable hole and mounting holes. It might work on a flat surface but not rough reconstituted stone. I drilled the main hole for the power cable, lined up the box and marked one hole. Did the rest by measurement.Do a dry assembly first. You can stow all the cables in the box and see how it fits over the back plate. The back plate has a rubber deal and a number of pre cut holes and plugs. I only need the one for power. You can force the plug through the small hole. Put the plugs in the rest. Fasten the back plate the wall black seal facing out. This is the easy bit.Feed all the cables through the box front seal,

Purchased in conjunction with a Foscam FI9900P outdoor HD camera, this item makes installation nice and quick and looking more professional. In the box, the item is supplied with all fixtures and fittings (screws, wall plugs and waterproof screw covers) and a drill template to align it on the wall. The inside of the fixture also has a spirit level fitted- a useful touch allowing perfect alignment). Also inside is a set of rubber "strap" that fit in a criss-cross fashion, allowing the bundled cabling from the camera be routed and stowed.The box is fully waterproof with a rubber gasket between the wall base and the cover and a weather proof gromit in the center where the camer is attached finishes this professional installation item.

Perfect little junction Box for the Foscam FI9900P external camera. Having recently purchased my second Foscam camera I was keen to get a decent junction box and I found this fits the bill perfectly. Easy to install and does the job well. Cables are recessed within the unit and are routed through a rubber grub/washed in the back, then attached the back plane to the wall with 2 x screws. The unit feel secure with the camera attached and now been mounted on the front of the house for 3 weeks.

This little item was a little late coming to the scene - but thank God it is here. It gives you somewhere to put all those dangling cables on the back of the 1080p cameras which until now have been a nightmare. You can never drill a hole big enough to accommodate them all. Works great and saves a lot of hassle. Just make sure it fits your camera.

I have, for a long time, had problems with what to do with the dangling cables on the Foscam external HD cameras. This is the total answer - and the cables fit inside snuggly without having to drill big holes and at the same time keeping them waterproofed. Make sure you get the right one for your camera.

Well made case does the job a treat. Only small issue is the machined attachment point is slightly smaller than the foot of the G4P camera so foot does not quite fit snugly to case had to use sealant to make water tight

Although perhaps a little expensive for a box it's been specifically designed for a number of Foscam external cameras which makes it a doddle to fit. Recommended

Product exactly as described, it is a tight fit if you use network and separate power, you cannot fit a power over network slitter in the box as well

Does the job perfectly, although the fly leads are quite a tight fit. i'm knocking one star off because its too expensive IMHO.

I thought it was quite expensive, but on receiving this I think it's well worth the money as it saved a lot of hassle

Good picture and quality. Had to spend more money on it however due to needing the waterproof box and longer cables.

Seem a bit expensive , however it is good and looks the part. You could do it cheaper but not better.

the item is aluminium not stainless steel as advertised. This is not a problem but is misleading.

Even though it is a bit expensive it looks fab! Defo worth buying it
