Connected up to my Arlo essential spot light, wireless camera. As battery was lasting 5 months when motion detection and everything turned off. But with normal viewing use it was only lasting 2 to 3 months. I just got fed up charging it. The price of this solar panel was much cheaper than others I had seen. I cable tied it up just like I did the camera. (Which was meant to be temporary but is doing the job of staying put very well lol). When I connected it up, the camera was on 30%. Viewing on and off through the day on my phone, and overcast weather the charge went down to 27. The thunder bolt was showing up ten minutes after first plugging it in. More sun shine in the days that followed and keeping the motion sensor off for now,and only viewing outside when needed. The battery charge is going up 7% a day, on sunny days. Testing the night vision and with the spot light on and odd viewing for 5 to 10 minutes through the day direct from my phone, only reduced the battery by 3%. Once it’s fully charged I will turn the motion sensor back on when needed. So far I’m really happy with this solar panel. But I don’t need to rely on it for constant security reasons. It’s mainly used to check on the kids when they r outside, when I’m not in the room to look out the window. I’m hoping even if or when the camera goes dead in the winter; it will turn back on come summer, without me having to mess about charging it again. Because every time I was having to remove it for charging, I was frightened of dropping the camera. Especially if I suddenly saw a spider.Update: battery icon on camera setting wasn’t showing the thunder bolt all day and still showing 72% since the day before. But the next day the charge showed 84% and no thunderbolt still but the black bar in the battery icon is fully filled. So even though I was getting worried some days it wasn’t charging if the thunder bolt icon wasn’t showing, it is charging! So I’m still happy and the camera charge only goes down one percent, when I’ve viewed the outside from my phone a few times for around a total of 10 minutes a day. The extra charging percentage just takes a full day or even the next day to update on my settings it seems.

I hope I don’t jinx it! ;-)- Bought 3 of these and use them with Arlo Pro cameras.- Been using them for 1 & a half years or so.- Live in a sunny climate so sun almost all year round, a little less in winter.- Solar panel charges to100% by 0900 in the morning.- I get around 30 activations a day depending on the sensitivity setting on the camera and still get a 100% charge rate.- Charge drops to around 95% at night.- Used an app called ‘Simply Solar’ (as recommended in the Arlo manual) to set the exact angle of the panel.- Make sure you allow for the distance between the panel and your camera determined by the length of the panel cable.- Has worked in rain, wind and 36c sun, even a little hail in winter.- Recommend putting a cable cover over the solar panel cable to protect it from the elements.Don’t know how long they will last but it’s great not to have to get up on a high ladder and fiddle around with batteries every so often especially with 3 cameras. And of course no electricity used, a little pricey purchase but for me definitely worth it.You may struggle a bit if you don’t set it up properly as it will not achieve it’s full charging capability but easily done with the app mentioned above.I got a much much better charge when I later adjusted their position. So far extremely pleased with them.

I read the other reviews with some negative comments and decided to take a chance as I thought my luck of climbing up my wobbly ladders without falling off was running out. The solar panel feels solid and well made, the connection to the camera is watertight and has stood up to some very heavy rain already. The only thing I will say is I use the magnetic mount and the power connection did not allow me to get the angle I needed for my camera as the cable sticks out too far. To remedy this I have had to turn my camera upside down and in the settings rotate it through 180° and it works perfectly. The camera is in a high traffic area and gets lots of hits, (over 200 a day)the solar panel took it from 80% up to 100% on a very sunny day despite all these activations, we have had a few very overcast dark days and it still charges effectively and the lowest its dropped to is 96%, so I am over the moon with it. I also got it at a great price so even happier. I have used a compatible gutter mount with it and fitting literally took minutes.

Purchased the arlo pro 2 a set of 5 cameras Spent few hundreds pounds the advantage is easy to install. It looks that way. But I was totally wrong. Yes it doesn't require wiring make it sample however the battery is a problem if you run them active mode the battery doesn't last long approximately 6weeks. Than 'simple fitting'is against the object. Buying a third party cable it won't work I used a couple it caused alot of hassle. Finally purchased a genuine cable you do require a inch drill to make a hole as the the micro USB is in angle and the other end is connected transformer. It is very frigle be careful not to bend and don't buy the third parties cable you end up waste time up and downthe ladder. For a OAP every two or three months to change the batter with steps or ladder unless you put the cameras on the desk. It is not simple as you think. The selling point is easy first setup after a period of time is inconvenience occurred. Why have to pay a premium product you could buy something similar for much less.

To preface my review, I bought an Arlo Ultra charging cable from a third party Amazon vendor before which failed miserably within the first few months. It’s still hanging like a dead vine from a tree.Regarding the official cable, my initial assumption was wrong. I thought I’d only receive the Arlo Ultra charging cable which terminates to a USB. For £35,99, I considered this outrageous. Cables like this generally cost pennies to make in Asia. However, as shown in my photo you actually receive an intergrated charging brick. The wire is apparently certified for UV up to 500H. Though the cable is unnecessarily packaged like an iPhone - even though... it’s just a cable.I understand what NETGEAR are trying to do.But, their product user experience is not nearly as polished as they’re trying to make it out to be.In summary, the cable is expensive. Yet, it’s cheaper than buying a rubbish cable only to throw it away. I will attempt to alter my review if the charger fails.

Moved over to the Arlo Pro2 after my reolink argus(s) started to become a pain to maintain(battery changes every couple of months was becoming costly and an annoyance)Moving to a premium product such as the Arlo did take a leap of faith as the initial investment was quite substantial / but as I normally do I went all in and ordered a triple pack of cameras and three solar panels - one week in & I'm so glad I did!Camera and solar panel installation was a breeze and all connected to the hub first time / the app is so simple and intuitive to use I would find it hard to imagine anyone having a problem in using /and as an added bonus the Alexa integration allows me to simply ask to see any of my cameras and up it pops on our main tv!Since installation both cameras and panels have worked perfectly with the batteries being fully charged daily just with the power of the sun!Fully recommend without hesitation-well done Netgear and well done Arlo Pro team / 5* Excellence

Only recently upgraded my 5 x Pro 2 cameras to Ultra cameras and the picture quality difference is nuts. However, an equally great upgrade is the power connection. The micro USBs on the pro 2 really are rubbish - they’re temperamental and corrode easily. These magnetic power connections are brilliant! It just clicks into place and works, without any fiddling. The cable itself is nice and thick, which isn’t too much of a surprise, given the price point. You do need to plan, if fitting outside, as it is a fixed three pin plug at the power end, so it has to be fed to the camera from inside (not easy in a loft!).Anyway, I’d totally recommend these cables and it’s worth the money to never have to go and swap batteries.Plus, the blue light on the front of the cameras stays on when they’re fully charged, which is all the time when plugged in, so potential burglars can see the camera nice and clearly, which is a great deterrent.

I originally purchased a 3rd party German sounding manufacturers cable and though it worked on the camera I had outside for about 6 months it stopped working, then started working, then causing issues so I decided to buy this cable as it is branded as Arlo and have not had any issues since switching the cable about a month ago. The downside of this cable is its length, it is shorter than most 3rd party cables and though the Micro USB end is larger then others it is functional, extra protection from the elements but keep in mind that if drilling holes to pass the cable through a wall, the hole needs to be larger due that fact. The cable is more secure and fits better though it is fiddly to connect if you are leaning and using one hand but the included cable holder and extension screw/nut are great as they secure the cable and provide extra protection from the elements.

These are really good and solves the problem of having to run cables through your house or struggling to find an external power socket that can accommodate an external charger. Just put one of these up and away you go. These are apparently best mounted in a southern direction so that you can capture the sun throughout the day. Do take this in mind when purchasing as some people have had a grumble saying that they don't work. They do, if you use them correctly. They do a trickle charge which is enough to keep your camera connected without the need to take the camera down to charge it all the time. It's worth noting that you do not get the extra 'always on'power features of your Arlo cameras with this as you would do if you had your camera powered from a mains outlet.

This is well made and it does charge the batteries quicker as stated, but at nearly £50 it's at least £20 over the price it should be IMHO.I got it because the batteries in my Arlo cameras do pretty well, but are a bit of faff to charge in place, especially in the winter, and I don't really want the solar panels as I don't really have the cameras in places where they would look OK. With one spare battery this charger lets me pop out the batteries, and swap them with the minimum of fuss. As mine are upstairs and can reached from a wind, I just have to be careful not to drop the camera when it pops out!If you can stand the price and have a similar situation, then it might be worth paying for the convenience.

I highly recommend these solar panels. They do work if they are positioned correctly, even in the grey UK. Before installing, take notes about where the sun hits your house at various times duirng the day and make sure you angle them correctly. The connector to the back of the camera is very snug and a bit of a pain to get in, but at least you know that it's watertight - literally! Both my cameras remain over 90% charged, even on cloudier days. Not only does this save on electricity, it means that you avoid the hassle of taking cameras down to charge them.I was fortunate to get these on sale and paid around £75 per panel. I know that they are pricey, but it's money well spent.

As you may see from the attached picture I have one of my pro 2 cameras mounted under the roof soffit. I had originally powered this camera with an Arlo indoor cable with some silicone around the connector but the cable eventually failed. Now Arlo has a certified outdoor cable that works I purchased and fitted this type. I particularly like the black plastic mounting adapter that comes with it to enable the camera to be spaced off the white metal mounting fixed to the soffit and enabling the cable connector to fix firmly into the camera charging port. The camera has been charging for a few months now and we have had some pretty bad weather but so far so good.

The Arlo charger is definitely a worthwhile accessory for your camera setup. This charges two batteries simultaneously and if you arm yourself with at least one spare battery, camera downtime is negligible.Small, sleek desktop charging, my only gripe (hence reduced stars) is the unnecessary supply of an additional mains adapter. I had one with the battery too, so along with the device supplied with the camera kit, I have loads of the things. Netgear, get your act together and supply these accessories at a more favourable pricing, and supply just what's actually needed.

Essential to avoid needing to get the ladder out! We've had our Arlo Pro for 8 months now and the solar kit had only just been launched but felt that the solar kit wouldn't be necessary but, if you have frequent motion alerts, then you'll find yourself getting the ladder out fairly frequently. This wasnt a problem in the summer but not great in poorer conditions.Since installing the lowest the charge drops to now is just 95% daily even on an overcast day when south facing.Build quality is good.Highly recommended but only reason for 4 stars is the hefty price tag

These are by far the best cables for your Arlo Pro 3 / Ultra / Floodlight. Yes, they are more expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. Some of the non-genuine cables are prone to faults but do make sure that if you are mounting your camera outdoors then you definitely need to get the outdoor cable. There's a good length of cable on these and they are easy to install. Just a word of warning, the connector head on the cable is quite large so if you need to thread it through a hole then you will need to drill quite a large hole in order to fit this through.
