I was hesitant of ordering this at first, as an extra cardboard box the day after Christmas is less than ideal!Our recycling bin was right on the verge of full, even after a long Christmas day spent crushing down boxes with the Grandchildren.But after I consulted Sevenoaks council website, I was delighted to find collection day had been brought forward to account for the Christmas aftermath.This became a dual purpose purchase for us. Originally bought for the dog, but is now being used as a way of hanging our shower curtain after the pole fell down last week. The lock button is very sturdy and holds the weight of the curtain from two little hooks perfectly.

Those leads are brilliant. Bought two as I have two dogs. Now where do I start? The yellow colour is nice and bright, day and night. The handle is very comfortable to hold with or without gloves. I can even hold two leads in one hand which is sometimes needed. On my old leads, a no name brand, the dog was faster back than the lead was rolled up and on these ones they roll up fast so no more tangled leads. The clip, which goes on the dogs collar, seems to be strong as well. And last, the clicking noise when you stop the dog from going further than you want to also to release it again, is not to loud which has made a difference for one of my dogs as well as this use to make her jump. Can I say anymore?

I bought this by mistake, thinking it was longer (I wanted a longer lead for taking our puppy on holiday in the Lakes, knowing we'd not be able to let her off). I'm very happy with it though, it's comfortable to hold and the mechanism is nice and smooth. The clasp is bigger and sturdier than other leads I've used which makes it easier to get hold of. I bought the florescent yellow thinking a long lead might be a hazard for other people but that isn't really an issue as it's only 5m. We now keep it as a spare along with our old 5m lead (which has been repaired after getting chewed) - it's handy to have a spare in case that happens again.

I HAVE ALWAYS USED FLEXI LEADS FOR FROM A ROTTWEILER TO A YORKSHIRE TERRIER & HAVE NEVER HAD ONE BREAK ON ME IN ANY WAY. WHETHER THAT BE FROM THE STOP/ LOCKING MECHANISM OR THE LEASH & CLASP. I ALWAYS PURCHASE A NEW ONE WHENEVER I HAVE HAD A NEW DOG. I BELIEVE A LEAD IS PERSONAL TO EACH DOG. THIS LATEST ONE HAS BEEN PULLED TIGHT AROUND ROUGH & RUGGED CORNISH CLIFF SIDE & SUFFERED NO DAMAGE WHATSOEVER & THOSE ROCKS WERE JAGGED. EASILY SEEN AT NIGHT TIME I HAVE NO HESITATION IN RECOMMENDING THIS FLEXI LEAD WHICH ALSO HAS A SLOT TO ATTACH A TREATS TUBE/ CANNISTER.

We previously had one of these, but somehow managed to lose it, so we were quite happy to buy an identical replacement. Any lead that can survive the excesses of a lively springer spaniel for several months and still operate, is obviously well designed and manufactured. I like the reflective bit of leash that attaches to your doggies collar and reflective panel on the handle. Hopefully this makes you and doggy more visible at night. We have had 3 springers and umpteen leads, some of them have packed up, this one has not, so I thoroughly recommend it.

had a flexi giant for 5 yrs ,8 mitre, dog bit through tape in one bite it ended up 2mtre, but everything still works.the new one 5 metre large , reflective disc on both sides works well, dark in the mountains where we live. so cars can see the discs and reflective lead plus day glows and torches easy. its a light weight lead so can carry it for a long time not like the giant, dog did bite tape in half 1st day that doesn't reflex from quality of the product all in all excellent lead recommend fully. wife expert in repairing tape now. lol

I have a lurcher. She weighs less than 20 kilos. This lead will take up to 50 kg. Due to her incredibly quick acceleration I wanted a sturdy lead that could take it. She’s a rescue dog and easily spooked, plus if she sees rabbits/squirrels/cats etc, she wants to chase them. As a result I can’t let her off the lead. I use this lead when we go for off road walks with a harness, gives her a chance to sniff around and explore a little. She’s happy, I’m confident I can trust the lead so we are both happy.

I had already owned one of these leads, bought from Pets At Home, so I knew what I was getting. Was so impressed with it that when it came to replacing it after 2 years, I just wanted the same again. I love the ability to have a poo bag roll holder attached to it, saves having pockets full of bags, or accidentally leaving the house without some! It's very reflective which is perfect in the winter months. Its very strong, perfect for our over eager terrier!!

Used 3 times. Feels very sturdy and well made. The clip is strong and big enough to make attaching it to the dogs collar easy without being too big and heavy. The braking system is great, easy to use. Handle is big, I have small hands but don't find it uncomfortable. Only gave 4 stars as the handle is smooth plastic that I find a little slippery. I haven't had it slip out my hand but would prefer a better grip.

Decent quality. Feels nice to hold. Not worried about it not being strong enough. I have a 35kg dog (which is far below this lead’s limit) and it is just fine for her. I wouldn’t be concerned about using it on a larger dog either. Practically, it seems a bit short, however, I’d rather lose length than strength. One small thing to note is that the brightly coloured lead will start to show the dirt quickly.

This is a great dog lead. Aside from being neon and glowing when on late night walks the fact that the cable is flat makes it so much more comfortable when my two pugs end up tying me up in it! I find the button to make the lead stop at which ever point you want really easy to turn on and off. Much easier than the older version I had from another brand. It also sits in the hand really comfortably.

I ordered 2 of these leads for my jack russell and border collie and they are amazing.I love how reflective they are (and people have commented on their high viability), the 5m length is perfect and we use them to help with recall training when we are on our walks.Super easy to use and when we venture somewhere new on walks and I don't want to let them off lead I don't feel as guilty!!

Product is great and well made. Simple to use.If I was to complain, and I am being picky, it would be about the speed in which it retracts.It’s only an issue if my dog stops and I take the slack in as it snatches on her collar and makes her jump. You can’t slow it down, it’s a ratchet so it’s either stop or full speed retract.My advice would be hold the lead with your other hand.

I only trust Flexi for my dog’s safety. Old one just broke after 6 years of use. I preferred to buy a reflective one for using dark winter nights since my dog is dark colored and can be hard to see from time to time.New design has an option to attach a box for use either for poo bags or treats which is easy to use.I bought the small size and it is not heavy or chunky.

I have a 20KG Springer Spaniel who loves to run, we go on 20 mile hill walks and I use this to keep him close when near livestock or people. many times he's pulled this out and its hit the stop with a good tug but the lead has held up well. The rewind is fast and smooth and its comfortable to hold. Also the lock is very easy to flip on and off and holds extremely well.
