I bought these hand grips to help with tennis-elbow and golf-elbow pains (after injuring my elbow on an over enthusiastic get fit gym session!). I use the grips as part of a group of exercises to combat repetitive stress pains and a specific golf-elbow type injury; and to strengthen my grip, fingers, forearms and elbow muscles…and they have done just that.I found them a little difficult to use at first as my hands and fingers were very weak, but with regular use, I was surprised at how effective the grips enhanced my gripping strength and the associated benefits of forearm muscle development. But the best results were from the rehabilitation to my injured elbow, which over a period of 3 months has achieved 80-90% recovery…as such, I’d say they are ideal for anyone as part of a rehabilitation set of exercises…and great if you simply want to increase your gripping strength.Ergonomics and comfort wise, I was not used to strength exercises and so found using a pair of work-out gloves (and even a pair of ‘B&Q Men's Slab Handling Gloves’) helped initially as my grip was weak in my injured arm especially, after a while my hands got used to the grips and I found it easier without the gloves. So I’d say for me the comfort initially was hard on my finger and palm muscles, but after the grip exercises had built up the muscles, it became more and more comfortable. Now I can appreciate the build of the grip exerciser much more and so give it a high recommendation. I personally find the ergonomics of the grip excellent, and the rubber parts are firm enough to give proper support over extended use, but flexible enough to cushion areas of pressure to the fingers and palm. The grips are as others have mentioned, made of an excellent quality, very light, but tough plastic. Another point worth mentioning is that the grip works in almost silence…which is great, as it can be used anywhere without drawing attention. The resistance adjustment works great. although I have mainly used it at the lowest setting and doing lots of reps, I am now increasing the resistance and reducing the reps on some sets to mix it up a bit and to add variety to warm up and strengthening exercises. When initially increasing the resistance the spring did make a slight twanging as it settled into the newer positions, but has settled down to silent smooth operation again, and occasionally this occurs as I change the resistance, but on each occasion, it has settled back fairly quickly, and the option of changing the resistance levels is now starting to pay additional dividends!I strongly recommend this Grip Exerciser for anyone wanting to rehabilitate hand, wrist or arm/elbow injuries, and is great as a grip and/or overall arm strengtheners.Rating *****

Having sustained a long term injury from playing in goal over the years, I've always found one wrist to be weaker than the other. Despite the faith I have in doctors, they seem averse to sending me to hospital to address what the underlying problem might be, instead suggesting I should look to perform some home physiotherapy to solve the problem.Having looked over Amazon I made my choice based on reviews versus price, and I'm pleased with the decision I made. The lowest settings were great at first and really helped bring some strength back into my wrist, and it wasn't long before I was moving up the adjustable scale; I've a feeling the loosened spring might have something to do with this, but the lady in my life seems to suggest that the resistance hasn't changed, adjustments aside.Given the devil makes work of idle hands, it's nice to find that yourself picking it up unknowingly, with the motion itself flowing nicely and for those like myself who've never used a hand grip before, it seems pretty addictive, giving off the same good feeling that comes with any exercise. I'd add on this particular model it's comfy as well, I'd say I have average sized "man hands" and the hand grip fits nicely. It hasn't let off any squeaky sounds either, and I've had it a while, though there is the occasional twanging sound once in a blue moon, despite the fact nothing seems to have "twanged".As for the wrist recovery, it's no long term fix as I managed to do my wrist in playing football again (inevitable), but it's nice to know I can build the strength back up again in a staggered way given the scale, and if I choose to hang up the gloves I can lead a life with two decent wrists. I'll probably bring a powerball into the mix at some point, but for the time being this hand grip really does the job.

Firstly I'm a female with medium female sized hands, so my thats where I'm coming from. These are sturdy feeling and look well made. The tension is fairly good, at about 20lbs I get tired after 10 reps and need a little rest. I can squeeze them up to about 30kg if I use the other hand to get the uncomfortable handles a bit closer together. This is the only problem - the handles are hard and curved in a way that just doesn't fit with my hands at all. Ive used them both ways around and they're just painful. It helps if you use your other hand to squeeze them closer then grip them, but then you can't fully open and close your hand and have to do little pumps. Maybe this is how they're supposed to be used Im not sure.Looking at videos online I see different brands being used like that.I think these would be good for anybody, but if you're a male into weight training and possibly a strong female, they might be too weak after a few months of training.

It works pretty much as advertized. I reserve five star ratings only for products that I consider perfect in every way.The build quality is good enough. The adjustment is also very useful. My only real gripe with this thing is that it provides too little resistance on max setting. But that's my problem. It is made of plastic, which so far seems to be rugged enough, but I do notice some flex in the handles on max tension. This is more of an aesthetic inconvenience, than an actual problem with the tool.Would recommend it to a friend - a rather weak friend that is. Or anyone looking for a versatile medium level squeezer.I'm doing strength training,if you are going to be doing stress relief - this is pretty much ideal for anyone.

Very surprised to discover that the gun gray part of this item is actually a rigid form of plastic. Making it much lighter than other types I've tried but I'm hoping it will also be as durable. In use, the scissor action is not the most comfortable but it can often be more comfortable used in reverse or even upside down. Was silent in operation until I varied the resistance screw, at which point the spring began to bite into the lower metal eye, twanging and resonating at a high level as it expanded and contracted. Surprisingly a touch of fine oil didn't improve matters but thankfully a touch of silicone grease cured the problem permanently. Extremely happy with it now.

This is the best vice-grip device I ever used. Going to buy second one.Have the 40kg version. It can be adjusted - low setting for worm-up, medium for the workout and a few squeezes on the maximum. Can be used in 3 different positions: with the red button facing towards, onwards or upside-down.Excellent - nice results after a month - using it everyday for about 5-6 minutes.Pros:- easy to adjust,- gives good linear resistance all the way from open to closed.Cons:- the adjustment is not accurate and nonlinear - first few settings makes no difference than the next one suddenly gets much harder.EDIT: sprung broke after 18 months of 40 minutes daily use

It's frustrating lifting a very heavy dumbbell and having it slip from your hand during your sets. Having read up on grip strength your forearms have several muscles that are used to grip and several more that activate when you release your grip. The Power Grip is great as they work both sets of muscles - I grip slowly then release slowly to stop an imbalance in the muscles which can lead to injuries. Both sets of muscles get a workout.I also decided to treat these as an exercise device not a toy, so I do a few sets a day as not to strain my forearms, it's very tempting to just sit there using them all day and end up with a sore wrist.

You can get away with weak hands in the gym, but not in real life! Use this product and you can not only increase you grip strength but build muscle in the forearms. That's where most of the muscles that power grip are located, not much room in the hands among all the bones, tendons and ligaments for powerhouse muscle. As this product is adjustable you can increase the resistance as your grip improves, great! Don't forget to exercise your finger extensor muscles using an elastic band though. A muscular imbalance can cause injury, and as we use our hands alot, an injury there can be very troublesome.

The build quality seems pretty good so far and the resistance can be changed easily as shown. My only caveat is that if you have small hands it might be difficult for you to grip it. My medium sized hands had some trouble at first. Also, the rubbery handles need some getting used to, although it might be related to my previous point. My recommendation is to buy it if you have medium to large hands and like the flexibility the adjustable resistance provides.

After recently having surgery to remove a disc that was effectively beginning to paralyse me my target was to start walking again and both play guitar and ride my motorcycle again. My walking is not far off and this item has been invaluable in helping me get to the latter two targets. Initially I had very little strength in my hand but the item's range of adjustment meant I could use it straight away and then build up to the harder settings.

wasn't sure about buying this hand grip. Did have another hand grip on order that was cheaper and from a well known brand but after waiting for 6 weeks and it not arriving I chose this one.Started using it straight away. Mostly when I watch tv. Its great can see me buying the heavier grip in a couple of months probably.Price wise I would prefer if it was a little cheaper but I would recommend it especially if you don't work out often.

I'm one of those people with weak wrists, I found that with the more I load up the bench, anything after 70KG my wrists always felt like they'd give way. This has helped strengthen my forearms which supports my wrists, it just makes my workouts much safer. I'd recommend the 10-40kg one, not the weaker 5-20kg if you're lifting heavy, gives you more space to grow. good quality product, I hope this lasts me a year or so.

Got this to help strengthen lower arm muscles up to help with climbing and bouldering and can honestly say I think it works! It's great to use randomly at work, I just find myself picking it up and doing a few reps every so often without even thinking...Seems well made and it's quite comfortable in your hands... Can't see it breaking, even on the higher settings...

I noticed significant change in my forearm strength within a week! Just gotta make sure I keep using it.One down side: The spring seems to snap from time to time in the tuning area (I do not know which part exactly but it is in the bone). Nothing serious though but it is worrying something at such high tensile strength might break and shoot through your eyes!

The only problem you will have with this product is if you forget about using it. Very well made and is lasting very well for me (around 6 months now) Good for building strength in your forearms which can be easily missed by bodybuilders etc.(this wont build size in the forearm, but will develop your strength and endurance)
