Now this item was probably designed as a quality swiss ball.If you go online and search youtube, you see some blokes on their knees or even standing on these balls doing exercises. They're great for improving balance and core stability! They are very well made. Most cheap balls will split if they burst. This means all the air will come out rapidly and if you're sitting on the ball, your bottom is going to meet the floor very quickly! These balls don't split. A guy on youtube demonstrates stabbing one with a screwdriver, it goes down slowly. It doesn't rip or tear! Now I do use the cheap balls for sprawling and balancing, but my gym floor is 16mm rubber with 20mm foam on top. I don't mind landing on my bum or face, but, I got this ball for a different purpose!I have filled it with 30kgs of water and use it for odd object lifting. I run with it, I change direction quickly, I throw it, I drop it, I bounce off it, I hit it with foam kali sticks!!!So far it's given me 120hrs of entertainment and it feels like it will last a lifetime!I think something sharp could puncture it, but we're entering nail territory rather then a small stone pinching it!I've seen guys hurling these as water balls outside (on grass) and I've not seen one burst yet! Not something I'd try myself btw, as they're a bit more expensive to replace (get a tyre for hurling).Summary:Excellent ball, if you sit/stand on your ball with equipment or want to fill it with water, this is the ball for you!

I like my Swiss Balls quite firm (phnark) and they have to do three things for me:1. They have to be comfortable to sit on all day because as well as using them for core strength exercises, I use mine as a desk chair.2. It has to be proper leathery strong, strong enough to withstand the attentions of a large and enthusiastic cat.3. It has to be able to take my weight, which is rather closer to the weight limit on the average Swiss Ball for comfort. This one fits the bill, its grippy texture has a matt finish which is more comfortable and also keeps you in position better when you get a bit sweaty (my knees are knackered so I do a lot of work on my core strength to ameliorate the knock on effect limping has on my back). The cat in question is no longer with us but he did hook his claws in it and stretch several times, without damaging the ball. For the sake of honesty, I have to mention that he managed to kill the first one of these I ordered but the replacement ball has lasted about 5 years and he was around for four of them so yes, it's tough. When it comes to taking my weight, it is rated for 500kg. To put that in perspective, the car I drove when I bought this thing weighed 650kg.So would I recommend it for exercise? Yes it does what it says on the tin and it was a great price, too. But it has an added bonus of also making a very good desk chair. Recommended.

I had never used a Swiss Ball before so did not know what to expect. The product was delivered quickly and arrived well packaged - a deflated ball, pump, two valves (one spare), tool to extract the valve, and a plastic measuring tape. Was advertised as colour Blue, but arrived as Purple (which I like).Easy method to inflate with the included pump - though an exercise in itself (... so I would recommend a cool environment to undertake this!). I didn't inflate the ball to the full size suggested by the tape provided, and it certainly seems to be properly expanded. For a person of 5ft 4ins height the 55cms size appears to be perfect. The ball helps me to have a really good workout, especially as I have back problems and I can use the ball to support a good stretch out without putting undue pressure on any part of my back. It can be used to support light exercise as well as those harder exercises for really good muscle tone, and it's more interesting than ordinary floor exercises. I use it as both an exercise in itself, and to warm up and stretch before doing sports. The product could benefit from the inclusion of an instruction leaflet describing some basic exercises (for beginners such as myself). However, this information is easy to access (eg via UTube, web, books etc), so still a 5-Star product for me.

I've had this ball for approximately 2 years and I have used it at least three times per week during that period. It's been subjected to a range of body weight exercises and the weight of additional dumbbells. And it's still as good as new. It's retained it's shape. It's still a sphere and not flattened at all. I've had to top it up once with air, which is nothing over that period. The surface of the ball seems resilient to scuffs and abrasion. I have used this ball primarily on the concrete floor of my garage, which isn't the best of surfaces. My teenage boys have often gone bonkers with it in the garden too. They love to try and hit one another with it but it invariably ends up being lodged in sharp bushes or hitting tree branches. It's withstood that sort of punishment, although I wouldn't advocate you do the same. It really is a tough ball. The ball's surface has a good grip too. It's comfortable and reassuring under considerable weight..And it needs to be. I use it preference to my bench for dumbbell flyes. Many-a-time I've been laying on it, with significant weights over my head, thinking to myself "If this were to burst now..."Still going strong- the ball and I.Great value item and highly recommended.

As a person of normal height (I am 6'4") living in a small persons world I had to buy a large sized ball so I could sit on it in the correct, knees bent at 90 degree angle. The ball is clearly physically very robust and well made, it has clear instructions and a band so it is in theory easy to inflate BUT..........the "fast action pump" that comes with it has about as much blow in it as me after I have run a marathon! It ain't going to blow out a kiddies candle on a birthday cake. We tried, we honestly tried to use the pump provided but after about 5 minutes of no air going into the ball we took it outside, hooked it up to cars tyre pressure pump which runs off 12v and using that it still took about 15 minutes to inflate the thing.Once up it is really comfortable to sit on,easy to do gentle exercises on and I am looking forward to recovering from my injury to start a more strenuous work out on it.You can buy books or dvd's to go with the ball but why bother? Search on You Tube and you get about 170,000 choices, all for free. Some are better than others but you sort out which suits you, I can only say, even if I am not going to follow the exercises, it is fun to watch the models doing it!

I bought this ball to replace a cheap one and wanted a good quality ball that would take regular use by 2 heavy people. This certainly fits the bill. It is the same quality my gym had and I really liked the fact that it came with a tape that you put through the nozzle of the pump so that you know exactly what size it is. I found the listing confusing as to whether there was a pump included but wasn't that bothered whether there was or not. When it came there was a pump in the box, not the best one in the world and I would suggest that pumping the ball up would make a good work out in itself but if you follow the instructions and partially inflate the ball and then leave it overnight and finish inflating it there is no problem. The ball has not leaked nearly as much air as cheaper ones do when under use and as a disabled person I have absolute faith in this ball being safe while with a cheap one I have worried in the past that it could go bang if subjected to a sudden shock. I really don't think there is anything to worry about in this one. I would buy this again if I needed another one and would recommend it to others who want good quality, non slip surface, safe ball with no gimmicks.

I'm just over seven months pregnant, and several friends had recommended owning a swiss ball as a comfortable pregnancy chair, labour aid, and easy way to gently bounce the baby after birth in any room. I chose this particular ball because I didn't want to spend too much, but also wanted one which would stay inflated and wouldn't burst (having read reviews of cheaper balls bursting simply by rolling near a radiator). This is a great choice for a gym-quality ball at home. It's robust so there's no fear of bursting, the stopper is easily removed but works well to prevent air leaking, and surprisingly the hand pump was really easy to use and very quick, too (and I'm not as strong in the arms as I was before pregnancy!)I had the ball ready to go in five minutes or so.I've used swiss balls for exercise in a gym and this would definitely fit the bill, but it's also a terrific pregnancy chair and I find it much more comfortable than sitting on the couch at this point as my bump is growing, and it helps you keep a much better posture, too.Highly recommend!

A friend of mine contacted FITNESS MAD directly and enquired about the materials used and the chemicals used in these swiss balls. The reply received was very helpful and thorough and she feels totally at ease about using the fitness mad swiss balls. They comply with REACH rigorous standards, are EU standard tested, and make them as eco-friendly as possible. My friend is sensitive to chemicals and so has to be very careful whatever she uses. She is delighted with everything about theFITNESS MAD Swiss balls and feels totally confident about using her purchase. It is very useful that they supply a very good pump and also a gadget for removing the plug if necessary. Also it comes in a good strong box.All in all an excellent product.so in this regard the price is very reasonable for such a good quality product, and also very very comfortable to sit on and exercise on.There is a very slight vapour when it is taken out of the box when new,- which is fully understandable - but this goes very quickly.

First up, don't be confused. The product is listed as a "Be-Active Studio Pro Swiss Ball" but has an image of the Fitness-Mad Studio Pro 500Kg Swiss Ball & Pump - Purple, 55cm . The latter is what I was invoiced for & received. In the box:- Swiss ball (obviously)- Hand pump (very effective)- 2 valve stops/bungs (nice to have a spare)- Bung/stopper remover- 55cm measuring bandInflation took less than 5 minutes. In reviews for the larger sizes there are comments that some found it difficult to blow-up, I didn't have much of a problem; yes, it was tricky to make a good seal between valve and pump when the ball was completely deflated, but after the first half-dozen strokes there was no issue. The ball feels as robust as you'd expect given the 500kg rating, the valve stopper appears to make a good seal & the surface of the ball is reassuringly grippy.I'll update this review in a month or so, by which point the ball will have had some serious use.

Very pleased with this.In the box- Ball- Pump- Measuring tape that the pump fits through, to allow you to inflate it to the correct diameter- Two stoppers- Tool for removing stopperThe material of the ball seems durable and has a nice grippy texture, which makes you feel secure. The measuring tape is a neat idea, as most negative reviews for exercise balls generally seem to be around the ball not inflating to the correct size. The tape gives you confidence to keep pumping when it gets a little tougher towards the end, with the knowledge that you're not going to over-inflate it!If I had to change something, it would have been nice to be able to buy this without a pump: there is no special connector or valve needed,so any pump you have (eg for an air mattress) would do.Overall, at the time I bought it, it was a little more expensive than some of the other options, but I certainly think it's good value for money and would recommend it.

I bought my swiss ball to use as an office chair. My cunning plan this year is to maximise my exercise opportunities by sitting on the ball while I am working. It also encourages me to maintain a good posture which helps my abs, and shoulders... I love it! When a really cool track comes on the radio I do 'figure of 8's' and bounce away to increase the benefit. I'm circling to Uptown Top Rankin' right now as I type...The ball is sturdy, good looking and easy to pump up with the handy, dandy little pump that comes with it.I plan to keep a couple of tins of peas on my desk to lift a few weights every now and again to add in some upper body moves. No really I do...Next on my list is a pair of tone-up trainers so I'll sort out my butt and legs on the way to the shops. Genius.Great product.

This ball is easy to inflate, the measure that came with it made sizing easy, othervwise its hard to know just how far to inflate. The surface of the ball is easy to grip, no sliding hands like the other 'smoother surface' ball I used to own, I am 5ft 4 and the 55cm is perfect, my previous ball was 65cm and way too big. You also get 2 bungs which s handy in case you lose one, plus a neat little tool for removing the bung in case you need to re-inflate (or deflate) I think most gym balls do go down a little in time, so thats not abnormal but at least you dont have to break a nail or risk puncture by trying to get the bung out.

Great! I purchased this to test as an alternative to a desk chair and though I'm not sure about sitting on it for extended periods, as I do get a sore upper back from lack of support, it does feel really great to sit on, I like that you can add in a bit of movement instead of sitting so still! I've found studies that recommend sitting on it for just 20 minutes at a time (well, that's recommended whatever you sit on but hard to stick to!) Other than that, it's very sturdy whether you inflate it fully or actually let some air out to lower it if you're shorter which I did. So I would certainly recommend to use in exercise.

Fitness-Mad Studio Pro 500Kg Swiss Ball & Pump. Purchased 65cm ball through Amazon as I could no longer bear to sit on my desk chair at work. Ball arrived almost next day and was so easy to pump up. However, although, I am 5'6", I found the 65cm too small for me. 2 colleagues in the office tried the ball and immediately decided to purchase one for themselves so one ordered the 75cm for me which I have been sitting on for 9 hours+ as day for the past 3 days and could not live without it. To date, 2 more balls have been purchased for other colleagues. Cannot recommend the product highly enough.

Received this Yesterday, followed the instruction to inflate it to 70% and leave it overnight. I used the tape inside to measure it today to 100% and it is HUGE!! I've took a bit of air out and the ball is perfect for what I wanted which is using it as a chair for my desk. The quality of the ball is amazing, I've been to many gyms over the years but never seen a ball so rugged and solid. I'm all pleased with it even though is purple :) Highly recommending it but beware this is a massive ball, you have to be really tall (I'm over 1.80m) to enjoy it otherwise order a smaller version.
