I bought this CPU cooler to replace the generic(Akasa) one that came with a motherboard bundle i bought a month or so back, my case has RGB lighting and an infinity mirror so the bundle looked quite plain and drab compared to the rest of my system so i decided to look at air coolers for my cpu and maybe get a LED fan for it to add a bit of colour, but I stumbled across this CPU cooler from deepcool on my google searches and after looking into it a bit more was really interested to give it try in my system. The main reasons why I was prepared to give it a go was the fact that the cooler itself had RGB and could be synced with the case lighting system(if you wanted)or you could just pair it up with the supplied fan and those two would sync and work together independantly of the rest of the case, I chose the latter option as i was interested to see what combinations/speeds and effects the CPU cooler had to offer. For the price i paid i was not expecting much to be honest the basic brackets for amd and intel and the thin wire fan holders that clamp onto the cooler tower, but I was pleasantly suprised as in the box there was the cooler tower and fan obviously, two sets of mounting plates one for intel based systems and one for amd systems, there was a black plastic backing plate which had holes for most popular intel and amd boards and depending on which LGA system you have the very clear intructions showed a pictograph of exactly which holes to affix the supplied hex nuts to, these hex nuts are clicked into position and held in place by the backing plate. also supplied is a small syringe of thermal paste which i was glad of as when i removed the generic cooler from cpu i saw the bare minimum of thermal paste on my CPU so i gladly added a couple of blobs to the mix, also in the box were 4 fan holding brackets, even though only 1 fan is supplied deepcool package 2 extra brackets incase you want to add another fan on the other side of the cooler tower to create a push pull configuration, all the required hex nuts, hand tightening nuts/screws(to secure the backplate to the motherboard via the hex nuts) and screws to attach the mounting plates to the cooler tower are included. There are also 2 cables included in the box one is to connect the RGB from the fan and from the cooler tower to your cases RGB config and sync up, the other which i used connects the fan and cooler RGB cables the same but this one gets its power from a sata cable and has a small inline control box which controls the speed, can lock the colour to anyone you want and can cycle through different pulses, so after messing around for 5 minutes i found a breathing effect that wasnt far off the cycle in my case and left it at that.I left the PC running for about 7 hours while i was at work then i played a few games on world of tanks, yeah i know its not really a taxing game but the previous CPU cooler sounded like a chinook helicopter taking off when i played the game which was another reason i wanted a change, though I do play the HD verion on Ultra settings, the deepcool gammax GT cycled up on first start of the game then dropped back down to normal speeds, the max temp i got while in game was about 55 dropping immediatley to 51 then 41 within about 20 seconds of coming out of the game( i didnt time this its just a rough estimate).I have taken some pics and actually filmed the instal I will be uploading the pics as soon as I can as im at work right now and I may have to edit the video(speed it up) before I post it on here as I dont know the max size allowed for vids on amazon. My verdict on this CPU cooler from deepcool, value for money is a 10/10 you get many features and extras only usually given with coolers you have paid twice the price for.Performance I will say its a 7.5/8 out of 10 as I havn't really taxed it on games but I know it will get hammered when im editing and rendering the video so this score might change. The design I like, mainly the RGB colour aspect of the tower itself, when I first removed the cooler tower from the box I thought it was going to be a tight squeeze and it may touch my case side panel but after installation the tower easily sat inside the case and ended up being about 2 to 3cm away from touching the clear side panel.

So after using my stock cooler for a long time I decided that I would like to try something new. After some browsing for air coolers I stumbled across this. It fit the bill perfectly. Its AM4 compatible without the need to contact the manufacturer for a bracket, it looks nice, has RGB integration with a wide variety of vendors and reviews have shown that it cools well. After seeing all this I thought I'd give it a go and see how it performs.Firstly though to what you get in the box. With the Gammaxx you get all the mounting hardware for both Intel and AMD, a tube of thermal compound, an RGB fan, the documents, an RGB splitter,an RGB controller and all the hardware fixings.Installation is super simple and in fact I found it much easier than the stock spire cooler. The instructions are well laid out and easy to understand for both Intel and AMD. You pretty much follow what it says and you can’t go wrong. If you are installing the RGB, make sure you refer to your motherboard manual as I’ve found the RGB headers can be laid out differently. But if you take your time, you’ll be fine.Software next and this is the only thing that’s missing. I think Deepcool really should have made some software to control the lighting. Yes it has the controller, but that is limited and software would have opened up the control for those that are using a older motherboard that doesn’t have an RGB header. If you do have a compatible motherboard with either MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB fusion, Asus Aura or AsRock RGB then you can control the RGB with that software. Unfortunately for some reason my motherboard (Gigabyte x370 gaming 5) didn’t want to control the lighting and thus I can’t show many pics. But this is no fault of the cooler and it was a fault with the since returned motherboard. The RGB (from what I could test) was really great, the lighting and colours were vibrant, pretty accurate and just nicely done. Even the fan looks great and usually they don’t look that good. Of course if you don’t care about RGB then you can choose not to install the RGB cable or simply opt for the cheaper variant without RGB.Finally to cooling/noise and it did a good job. It matched my stock cooler at idle with a temp of 26C. Under AIDA testing it hit a peak of 61C with a Ryzen 7 1700 (3.2GHz) which, was strangely a few degrees warmer than the stock cooler. Gaming was were it really did well and it outperformed the spire by 9C. The spire scored 51C and the Gammaxx 42C. This was playing overwatch (admittedly not CPU taxing) at 1440p with the Epic preset. The case I used was the NZXT S340 elite with three Corsair HD120 fans. But even with the odd AIDA test which in the real world you’d probably never do and it kept really cool no matter what I threw at it. It easily outperformed the stock cooler by at least 4C when the CPU was under varying loads.Noise wise its no quieter or louder than the stock cooler it replaced. Like the spire, I can’t hear it over my HD120s and even under load its not that noticeable at all. One thing I should mention though is the size, its very tall and you’ll need to make sure that your case can fit it as its almost touching the glass on my S340.As whole its not the perfect cooler as I’ve seen other cheaper ones that will match its performance and if you don’t want RGB I’d get one of those. If you do want RGB, then this is great, yes my experience wasn’t fantastic (motherboards fault) but if you have a compatible board to make the most of it, the effects are really cool and it just adds a bit of flair to a component that is usually otherwise pretty plain. Taking everything into account I’d give this cooler a 4.5 out of 5. If it had software then the score would be better but as is, its still a great air cooler and one I will keep using.

Okay first off this review is based on the unit when it was priced at 24.99. So performance vs value is based on this.Purchased this for a small (retro) Gaming rig and HTPC to replace the stock Wraith Cooler on a AMD 2200g. These are great little processors for this use case and can be overclocked quite well for a little extra performance. Please note im not using the integrated GPU and thus only overclocking the CPU portion. However even if your not overclocking your CPU this cooler benefits stock speed and temps. Here are some test results for stock and OC CPUStock Frequency (boost to 3.6) Wraith Cooler:Prime 95 (5 Minute Stress Test) Temp 84 Degrees C, Frequency throttled to 3.4GHZCinebench R20 - Score 1314,Temp 67 Degrees CDeepcool GT BK CoolerStock Frequency (boost to 3.6)Prime 95 (5 Minute Stress Test) Temp 68 Degrees C, Frequency 3.6GhzCinebench R20 - Score 1390, Temp 59 Degrees COverclock to 3.9Ghz, 1.35VPrime 95 (5 minute stress test) Temp 72 Degrees C, Frequency throughout 3.9GhzCinebench R20 - Score 1423, 59 Degrees CPrime 95 30 Minute test passed fine with the temp going no higher. So as you can see even at stock frequency this cooler keeps the cpu far cooler than the included Wraith cooler which allowed Prime 95 to complete without throttling. Also the jump in cinebench score at stock was amazing to see also, and these are from an average over 4 runs in each test.Running tests on this yesterday when you hit the 80's with the wraith the cpu starts throttling, goto upper 80's and you start to get crashes when overclocking, the fact that it did not stutter once even at 3.9 shows this cooler is doing what its meant to.It should also be remembered that the wraith cooler being more low profile and downward blowing works against itself by blowing hot air over the vrm and motherboard, so temps are reduced all over by using this cooler as air is blown out to the exhaust fan insteadFITTINGTook 10 minutes with my setup so cant complainRGBNot really interested in this as its in an enclosed case, i do however have a deepcool Castle watercooling 240 rad in my main machine and the rgb on that is stunning. However thats addressable RGB, this is just one colour at a time RGB switchable.NOISEThese come with RF120 fans which are virtually silent even at full speed. I have one in my main rig. along with the CF120 which are the addressable rgb fans. Those fans have been going nearly a year and are still silent so they are good longterm fans. And you can also get a 3 pack with fan hub for circa £30 if you want them matching.SIZEIt's Tall, the unit is 156mm. You need to add on circa 8mm for the cpu in the socket, so you need a clearance of 164-165mm to your side panelVALUESo as mentioned earlier i got this for £24. For that price its pitched against the CM Hyperion 212. Looking at reviews on the web this beats that unit in temps and noise plus it comes with RGB so its a no brainer. However its usual price is £34. Its still good value at that price as it does the job nicely, but its now pitched against the Cryorig H7, and that does beat this unit by a couple of degrees in most tests but does not have RGB. So if your not fussed about RGB and want the best cooling then the H7 makes more sense. Otherwise this is a mighty fine unit that does what its meant to

Amazing cooler for the price and includes nice BLINK to it (RGB).I'm using it on Ryzen 7 3700x and I've tried couple of different configurations so bare with me bellow. Unfortunately have pictures only on my current one but I'm happy to answer questions if someone interested. So, I did following options:Opt1: Stock AMD Wraith Prism CoolerOpt2: DeepCool Gammax with one Stock RF120 fanOpt3: DeepCool Gammax with two DeepCool RF120 fansOpt4: DeepCool Gammax with two Arctic P12 (my current setup on the pictures)The noise levels are acceptable if the CPU isn't overclocked in all configurations except the stock AMD cooler.(To noisy for me in continuous gaming or working sessions)At the moment my CPU is overclocked to 4425 Mhz on all cores @1.3625v and max temp under load with AIDA 64 is 79C with fans at 90%If i load my CPU and extremely hot GPU to 100% simultaneously CPU temps are rising to 85C, but this 8s limitations of my case with the GPU (Corsair Carbide 275r & 5700 XT - XFX THICK III Ultra. My idle temp is 42 - 49C @4425 Mhz and 36-39C @3600Mhz.So my conclusion is:Gammax can handle mild overclock with stock fan on acceptable noise levels. If you have extra 120 mm fan you can add one as DeepCool include extra set of mouthing springs/brackets in the box.In my opinion is best looking Budget friendly CPU cooler, regardless if you're using the RGB or not.Hopefully this is helpful to someone! Stay safe!

I bought this to replace the stock Ryzen 3600 cooler, as I've read that the stock could be better and I wanted front to back case air flow.Overall easy to install, two RGB cables (one for the fan and another for the shroud), they daisy chain into eachother to a 12v header. The clips holding the fan onto the heatsink were a tad fiddly, a second pair of hands helped. There is a RGB controller, which allows to change colour and brightness (the rainbow option is somewhat seizure inducing).Review websites rate this cooler highly and I agree with them. I've been running Cyberpunk at roughly 75% CPU load and the cooler keeps the temp held at around 65C.

it is a great little cooler for my 3700x keeps it at nice and cool and won't go above 71c on 100% load. It is a bit fiddly to put in by yourself though can be done alone just takes a little bit of time. The stock cooler on the ryzen x models is normally quiet good it's self so only upgrade if you would like a quieter cooler what runs a little bit cooler and goes well with your pc. Though if you are going for a 3600 or 3400g etc a after marker cooler will indeed help a lot more though. If it's going to put it in a case and you never see the thing, get the stock gammaxx for around £25 and down to £20 on sale

Great looking cooler has bright rgbs can be used with a wireless LED RGB 12v cintroller or connected into a 4pin 12v RGB header on an RGB ready mobo this can switch colours and modes using your mobo software or apps. Can be loud during stress tests on the CPU but keeps it cool during load on an i5 4590 under 65°c at a 100% on an open case test ( result may vary on CPUs and ambient temperature). Easily installed on a intel 1150 socket with a four pin technique and has additional mounting brackets for am3-am4 socket. Overall good looking cooler with a beefy fan and heatsink.

This cooler is easy to install after carefully reading the manual. Works perfect with the am4 bracket. I get an avrage of 30 degrees on desktop and 50-60 on games depending what I'm playing. It's very big so check dimensions as mine just barely fit into my matx case. Overall good cooler, supports rgb programs but also has its own controller that is plugged in by a sata cable. Rgb is removable for a cleaner look. Can adjust fan curve in bios. Good for overclocking. Recommend this product 100%

Swapping this from a stock fan dropped my CPU temps around 26 degrees at full stress, from around 85C to just under 60C. Ideal for a case that can't host watercooling (or for people who can't be bothered with it).Noise didn't raise much, I can hear it clearly without headphones on, but that's obvious.Make sure to measure your case carefully beforehand, as it is pretty chunky, and it fits just right in mine (Aerocool GT-A)

14.12.2020

Very impressive to look at and adds a more professional look to the insides of the case. Larger than I thought but not an issue for my midi case. The choice of colour/pulse is a nice option. Very pleased with the cooling performance sitting at 42 degrees and the fans spin at less than 600 rpm when under minimal load.Overall a good performance cooler that is not displeasing to the eye.

Okay so this cpu cooler by deep cool. Is amazing for rgb lovers. Best on the market for looks. As many have said. Would recommend a second fan like I have done as you only get one fan but even with the one fan it keeps my ryzen 5 3600 cool all day. My system is always on and different temps during the day controller is easy and small. Can also take a extra fan to keep it synced

27.7.2019

Bought this for my for my daughters new pc. Quick and easy installation did not need to look at the instructions. Fitted to a ryzen 5 2600 pbo supplying 3.9ghz all core with Gtx 1050 and 16gb of 3000mhz ram and a WD blue nvme keeps system at 48.1° under load could not be happier. Going to try for a 4.2ghz overclock as the temperature headroom is available.

19.10.2020

i really like this cooler as it is easy to install in any system, i have this cooling a ryzen 7 2700 cpu and when under load my temps dont climb over 55c at all, all while staying really quiet.the design is nice and the top panel with extra rgb lighting is a nice fit for my machine.well worth it for most newer cpu's on the market

19.11.2019

Easy to install, I was a little sceptical whether to use their included ‘thermal compound’ but it seems to be holding up great. Idle temps on my Ryzen 5 2600 are around 30 Degrees C and whilst gaming around 50-60 Degrees C. Great value for the small price and looks fantastic.

Good cooler, easy to install and I don’t understand why the negative feedback by (a supposbly) pc builder! I’m an A+ engineer and what did he expect for a cheap cooler? Can’t please some people. Keeps my z370 Aurus 7 under 30c No complaints here
