In our house we own 3 of these. In the past I’ve owned others. By other manufacturers and other than Eastpak (which are equally as good) the rest were rubbish. These have a superior set of rolling wheels, they are well made with decent materials and decent zips.Any thicker material then this would be too heavy. As it is, empty it weigh knocking on the door of 5KG and that eats into your baggage allowance. But for long haul with a decent weight allowance, or for 2 people to share for a shorter break. They are ideal.Good organisation. Collapses to take up less space. To make it better would include some method to lock the zips and tuck the lock out of the way.But all in all we love these bags.Value for money? Not at the full retail price. But as the one I bought recently was about a third off then yes it’s a decent price. It should still be usable in 10 years then it’s durable. Time will tell but I think it will be.

I ordered the dark gray color for my boyfriend as a birthday present. We do a lot of traveling and just moved across the country. This suitcase offered a TON of space and is lightweight. Since most airlines have a 50 lb weight limit, the weight of your suitcase is crucial!!!! But that will not be a problem with this suitcase! The expander on the inside of the bag is pretty good but not always necessary. The one and only downside to this suitcase is that when it's standing up on its own, it will easily tip forward if you have weight in the front, therefore going through check in lines could be a little frustrating.Overall..my boyfriend and I are very pleased with this suitcase and would purchase again!

Oozes quality as soon as you open the box. I have previously paid a lot of money for a travel bag from a well known maker and this Dakine bag beats it hands down.....and for a cheaper price. The wheels on this bag are replaceable so I think that it has been designed with longevity in mind. It is an easy shape to pack too.....unlikely its more weird shaped competitors. The zips are strong and move easily...even from new. Similarly the extending handle moves with a 'quality' feel to it. The bag is so big that you could get almost anything inside. Love it. Will update this review after a couple of year's use. Love it so far!

This is an excellent bag of you are a field engineer. I have to fly out to different places every week and this bag is great at the airports. Having a separate compartment for my work boots is a must for me, and so is durability. If have this bag for close to 2 years now and it still looks new. Minus the patches I sewed on.It rolls smooth and navigates crowds way easier than my tool box, and there is always a handle to grab. Go with the medium size though, it gets you right up to that 50lb weight limit without going over. Can't recommend it enough!

I know this bag is designed for Snowboard/Ski boots but it is perfect for the Road Warrior that has to take steel toe shoes and a Bi-Pap machine with him. My Bi-pap (in it's protective case) and Steel Toe shoes both fit in the Ski-boot pocket. My Ditty Bag fits in the other zippered pocket and my clothes fit neatly on the other side. I REALLY like this bag. I travel almost weekly and have to replace my bag about every 6 months. I'm hoping to get longer out of this one. Even if I don't, I will be replacing this one with an exact copy if I can.

So far so good, love the way the separate internal compartments make organising effortless, quality of straps and clasps seems good, easy to hoist up having several external handle options, and some well thought out external pockets. Only very slight concern is if the top side is loaded up with heavy stuff the bag may fall forward from the upright position, had to repack to.avoid the possibility. Other than that I'm very happy, a practical hard wearing piece of kit, much better than a hard shell suitcase.

I am NOT a snowboarder, which is what I know this is who this luggage was geared towards. I went out on a limb and bought it, and was not at all disappointed. First of all. The size is awesome, especially since it's expandable. I loved the multiple sections on the inside for organizing clothes, shoes, etc. Loved the durability of it. We are actually planning a large family trip, and will be purchasing the larger sized version, and that should be all we need to travel with.

Bought this piece of luggage specifically for a extended trip to Japan we just returned from. The Dakine Split Roller 110l held everything I needed to take and had room for more. After reading other reviews I was cognizant of exceeding airline baggage weight restrictions and made sure the loaded bag stayed under 50 lbs. Its only been one trip but upon close inspection upon returning home I can't even spot any slight damage to the bag. All in all it worked great for me.

This is a great bag. I had a predecessor, and my daughter managed to destroy it over a period of a few years, while carting her belongings back and forth to college. I do not blame Dakine, she's managed to destroy all sorts of things, with seemingly little effort. The bag actually held up OK, but she somehow managed to knock one of the wheels off.I purchased the gray model- it really looks sharp, much more so that the black one I owned previously.

The 85L is amazing! I've had Dakine bags before and I can always count on them for years. I was able to take this guy on my move to Europe. It fits the measurements for checked bag standards as long as it's under 50lbs. You can definitely count on this review as I have dragged many Dakine bags allll over that world, in different weather, and on multiple landscapes and they have held up beautifully. All the compartments are awesome on this one too!!

Can you say BIG FREAKING BAG? With it fully expanded, you can fit so much crap in here it's ridiculous. Be careful you don't go over weight limits because it's easy to do with this bag.Its built very well, strong zippers and stitching. It is expensive for a bag, but you get what you pay for. The built in rollers are great. It also collapses down to a smaller size if not being fully utilized, which makes it nice for storage or smaller trips.

Well first off, its huge. I fit a couple of weeks worth of clothes and still had room to spare. I like the compartments, it makes it easy to keep things together and not wind up with a mess of a suitcase. the wheels are excellent; Smooth and quiet over every surface I faced so far.My only gripe is that the bag is heavy to begin with. I can see it being real easy to go over the airlines weight limits, I came pretty close.

I bought the 85 liter version of this bag and it has become my favorite travel bag. I like that it has several external zipped pockets as well as divided internal compartments for separating clean and dirty clothing and shoes. It is also light in weight so you can pack more clothes or equipment and stay under the FAA limit of 50 pounds. I further like that it has plenty of external handles and it can stand up vertically.

Seems to be a great bag so far, with one exception... and this is not really the bags fault, but I didn't think of it when I got it. Because it splits open, you really can't use it on a typical hotel luggage rack. You need to always open it on the bed, or on the floor. It's very easy to get to things when it's open, you just need to realize you need a large surface onto which to open it.

When the top half of this case has been attached to the lightweight molded base it has buckled the base out of shape which is not ideal for packing. Otherwise looks ok, rolls ok, and has rigidity to the bottom which I guess accounts for the price. Going long haul so I will see how this stands up to the usual travel realities compared to the £20 Slazenger bag I've previously used.
